I don't usually trust a place that offers two distinctly different cuisines. And I would NEVER order sushi delivered from a place where I haven't seen how the fish is handled first. Yet this place is close to our home in Miami Shores and we love both styles of cooking equally. My daughter, age 10, her Uncle Steve and I have eaten inside this restaurant twice, and one time (July 16, 2012) I ordered for delivery. Since the early 80s I've tried nearly every dish available on a typical Thai or Japanese menu. Some things I love, some things I don't, but I can distinguish between fresh and frozen or overcooked and underdone. The bottom line: I have never received an item from this restaurant that was poorly prepared. To be fair, this place executes its menu items as though there are two kitchens and two chefs, or the kitchen staff is schizophrenic. I disagree that the sushi is tasteless--maybe because I like stuff like wasabi and soy sauce to liven things up a bit. My favorites, the orange "caviar," eel, tuna belly, octopus, dolphin, were perfect--the nigiri had fish pieces that were not too thick, yet the sashimi was thinly sliced to melt on the tongue. The rolls are more traditional than innovative. On the Thai side, the massaman curry is as good as any I've tried anywhere else. Hearty and full-flavored with cardamom, tamarind, coconut, cashew, chunks of potato and chiles, this dish is soul-satisfying. The pad thai is wonderful, not too sweet and generously spiked with garlic, coriander and lime. Also excellent was the Spicy Squid Salad ("Jumping Squid") although they kept the hot chiles to a minimum since it was a delivery order. Chewy-tender pieces of squid cross-hatched and grilled lightly in a chile-lime-scallion dressing simply explode in your mouth. The service is typically friendly and efficient. As your food is ready, it's brought to you. The restaurant interior is restrained in Japanese style, not over the top with color and wacky statuettes of elephant gods. I only wish the food that was delivered was hotter, but then our house is kind of hard to find. We like this place a lot and will continue to patronize it. more

At first we were excited to try a new sushi/thai Restaurant that delivered to the shores. The food arrived on time and was beautiful, yet totally tasteless. We were completely disappointed! How can a restaurant make sushi rolls that are bland and tasteless. The ingredients seemed fresh but were not put together well. We selected 4 different rolls and had to throw them away as we could not stomach eating something without taste. We will never order from them again. Stick with Sushi Siam instead. Siam Rice and Thai is nothing but a cheap and bad knock off. more

This was my second time trying sushi and it was great. I had the Kamikaze roll and i tried it with half salmon and half tuna for a dollar more! I enjoyed the salmon over the tuna but recommend either. If you like outside dining don't set your expectations too high because the construction and abandoned offices are an eye sore. Try eating inside :) more

Really really spendy for just okay food. They have a pretty pedestrian menu and the portions are fairly small. They have some decent seating outside in front, but be sure not to get a seat around the corner, where an enormous generator will rattle your teeth and create a loud, incessant humming that is guaranteed to drive you crazy. more

I order from this place pretty often and the pad thai is so good, even when they deliver it the noodles stay perfect. Panang curry and Masaman curry are very tasty as well. This place is a pleases every time. They deliver and have good, efficient service. more

So-So Sushi and Tasty Thai - but not worth waiting for the slow kitchen and mediocre service! 12/1/2008

This restaurant might be fine for take out or delivery but definitely NOT for dining in. Even with only 3 of the 20+ tables occupied, the kitchen could not seem to get the food out. We started by ordering 3 appetizers. Two came out at about the same time. The spring rolls had a just spicy-enough dipping sauce. The third appetizer, wings, materialized almost 20 minutes later. They were smothered in a good spicy sweet sauce. It was obvious that the kitchen was having issues but overall the service was inconsistent. We ordered 2 Sake Lemonades, the waitress brought one and said ""The other one is coming."" Tom Ka Gai and Tom Ka Shrimp were disappointing - much too heavy on the coconut and citrus. The main courses were a disaster. The dynamite roll was bland and rather chewy. The Panang curry was not served as the menu promised. After waiting another 20 minutes for the third entree, Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice, we decided to take it home. Pros: Chicken Wings sauce Cons: inefficient kitchen, poor timing, inexperienced waitstaff more

Undiscovered Charm 11/17/2006

OK so it is not on the best corner in the city, but when you get inside you will discover a friendly staff, great Thai food, a piano player who takes requests (gotta love him!) and a spacious interior. The menu has about everything you could ever want at a Japanese / Thai place and the tables are large and can accommodate large parties. Pros: Lots of charm andgood food Cons: Could be in a better location more
