Cheap beer, good eats, video games, pinball, and a jukebox. What more do you need? This isn't a place for yuppies who want to be seen. A younger crowd with a predominantly punk flavor seems to be the mainstay for the bar, but you'll certainly see all slices of the city represented.
This is the place to go to hang out with a few friends, have some beers, and, if you're hungry, enjoy the excellent hot dogs. Your wallet will be happy with your decision. Don't try to bring a large crowd here. Shorty's has some booths and a bar that isn't really conducive to groups of more then 4. Also, remember it's a dive bar. No one is going to care if you walk in with the latest outfit from Club Monaco or J. Crew.
If I can leave you with one suggestion, it's to try one of their hot dogs at some point. They're good and loaded with fixings. You'll quickly realize this was the missing element from your late night out drinking with friends.
