My only complaints about the old location were the massive amount of smoke, and the very loud cover bands. After visiting the new location I have to add lack of air conditioning...

Great place to enjoy the game 11/8/2011

Went to see the Houston Texans play Sunday. Enjoyed to food and service was great. Hanging with friends and family. Plan on return again soon. more

Be sure you close...or better yet not open...your tab here. Made mistake of leaving and not closing two nights ago...my bank now shows the $23.00 tab ALONG with a $21.50 tip...93% Tip? HAH! more

if you like glass in you food, this is your kinda place 2/20/2010

We went here on Friday night. We ordered drinks and were having a good time. We decided to order the spinach dip and as we were eating it, I felt a sharp pain on the roof of my mouth and had to spit out my food because there was glass in the dip. We got the manager and were supposed to be comped. The waitress then became irrate because she was concerned we would not be leaving her a tip. She then had our table cleared after we ordered more drinks. We spoke with the manager again and were once again told everything would be taken care of. We looked at the bank statement this morning and not only were we charged for everything...we were charged triple!!!!!! Wow. Fail. Cons: eating glass and getting charged triple on your credit card more

so-so food... service is VERY SLOW .....if you play trivia and you like cheating ..... bring your phone or laptop with internet access on Wednesday nights! THIS IS YOUR PLACE. The management seem to tolerate it. Pros: location Cons: service and management more

Worst Experience Ever! 11/25/2008

We used to go to Sherlock's all the time when it was across the street all the time. We decided to try out the new location and see how it was. Unfortunately, it was a horrible night. The cover band was way too loud. The Sam Adams that was brought to me was disgusting. The bartender brought me another one that was just as bad as the first. We switched over to rum and cokes for the rest of the night. The waitress was nice in the beginning but then disappeared for half an hour in the front part on a pretty empty night. When she brought us our tab, they had added a ton of drinks to it. The manager basically shoved us out the door and said sorry, there was nothing we could do. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. 17 drinks for two people is a little much. Needless to say we will never go back. Pros: Nothing Cons: Management, drinks, band more

Great bar! Fun Karaoke! 7/28/2008

This is one of my favorite Sherlock's. It is in a trendier part of town. The drinks are always the right price. The Karaoke on Tuesday night is always a good time. I havn't had the food yet. The bathroom entrance is hilarious. If you don't know what a W.C. is, you will soon find out. If you are looking for a pub experience, Sherlock's is sure to give it to you! more

BEST PLACE IN TOWN 8/16/2007

I have been to this place many times. The new location across the street looks very promising. I was there last night and they will officially open 8/17/07. This place has always been one of my favorites because the staff works extra hard to make you feel like a regular even if its your first time. Parking is great and you can either do street parking or their lot. There is no covercharge and that means you can buy more drinks and get more food. The bar is full of 20somethings and they are all very good looking. This place is friendly to police officers and sometimes offer them some good perks. Music is great, staff is great. I was there before had a little trouble with a guy there and the bouncers dont put up with any childish nonsense, the guy was kicked out and was told if you want to fight then go to some other place. The staff makes sure you have a good time and dont put up with things you might have to deal with at some bars. Pros: Everything was great more

I recently went to the w. gray location with a group of friends for drinks on a friday night. We had a blast ! The music and the crowd were fun and it wasn't too loud. Great place to hang-out on Monday 5/9/2007

I was at Sherlock's West Gray on Monday and had a great time. The music was good the drink specials where AWESOME. The atmosphere was great. This is a great place to just hang-out and relax. Pool tables and darts where available. I highly recommend Sherlock's to anyone who likes live entertainment and great drink prices.... more

Great location, but way too loud 10/9/2005

The location is great, and the pool tables are somewhat separate from the main area, which makes it possible to have a conversation in that area. But the live music in the main bar is so loud that it is impossible to talk or even enjoy the music. Pros: location, diverse crowd, very casual Cons: too loud, lots of smokers more

Free food! That does it for most people but this place is great. Darts, pool tables, golden tee... everything a guy could ask for. Oh, and the drinks are cheap as sin. Prices remind me of sixth street. Pros: Fun, Cheap drinks, free food more

I am a regular at Sherlocks and maybe this helps, the staff (Grego, Loonie, Candy, Fab & Vanessa) have a drink ready for me as I walk to our usual table, there are not many places in Houston that get to know there customers in this way. Its cheap and reliable, hey its not pretty, would love for them to have a patio, but $1.50 you call it - who cares. Just go have fun. Bands are hit or miss. The atmosphere was great (eventhough it was a little loud). The people are awesome and the layout in cool. If all this doesn't make you want to go then go for MO!!!!!!!! Great & Lively 4/30/2003

My friends and I use Sherlock's as a regular bar hang-out. The cover band's and usually good and the drinks are cheap. The atmosphere is fun (with the exception of creepy old men hitting on us) and lively. There's great people watching and mingling. We never go home disappointed! bad bad bad !!! 12/28/2002

If you open a tab BEWARE! Our waitress gave someone our debit card, let them sign for it and the person took off. What kind of service is that? What did the management have to say? USE YOUR CHECKS! They did take care of the tab, but what's the big deal about that, we planned on paying for things anyway, plus most of the night we had already paid with cash. Too bad our tab wasn't higher! Never going back !!! Really bad service !!! bartenders and management really bad ...BAD ATTITUDE...very disappointed. Would i recommend this bar? I would recommend you NOT go. Worst Sherlock's 11/11/2002

I used to live near the Sherlock's on Westheimer and the one in Clear Lake so I was so excited when we moved downtown that there was one so close. The first bit of bad news is that Rat Ranch doesn't even play at this Sherlock's. Oh well, we decided to give it a chance. I've been there six times in the past two months and the bands are just terrible. Then when we asked one of the bartenders why they didn't have Rat Ranch or even a half way decent band like the other Sherlock's he said, ""Why don't you move back to Clear Lake if you don't like it?"" What a jerk. We will never go back and we will drive all the way to Westheimer or Clear Lake just to hear a decent band and not to be served by rude idiots. Stacy Q Cons: bands, bartenders more

Best service and prices in town - - trust me...I have searched all over town. Friendliest bartenders - - can't do any better than Fab, Jeff, Grego, Breck and Dox.
