Shepards Beach Resort

I hope Bill Shepard reads this.... I rarely go anymore- why? Because the cover is a rip off - the service is horrible, you have to fight to get a drink and wait about 10 minutes. Then the drinks are overpriced -watered down - too much ice and soda. There are always people problems and the security staff seems to not want locals to come - I have heard MANY stories from locals who also say they are never going back... you are not allowed to make a complaint or you get thrown out. Then the undercover narc agents come up and try to sell you weed -locals know better - so they target the tourists and so when they agree to buy a little bag the undercover says lets go down by the parking garage - as soon as you do and make the exchange - other uniformed cops make the "big bust" and off you go to jail .The narco returns to the club to snag the next victim. People are always getting arrested at Shepards. The cops just wait at the Hess - at 2 am one cop is on the radio giving vehicle descriptions and tag numbers out for those getting a DUI just up the road. Just listen to the police scanner at 2 am sometime. If you decide to go - bring lots of money and be sure you have your lawyers number on speed dial - you may need it. This club is dead during the week and on Friday and Saturday nights it is insanity and chaos - people puking in the bathrooms or on the dance floor... then you would think someone would grab a mop to clean up the puke on the dance floor - NO. Security staff member Quote - "If we mop and someone slips then we are liable" - " If you don't like it you can leave - in fact why don't you" QUOTE - OK jackass - I will. this place and the workers sux. we had room cleaning come in our room when we had do not clean sign on door. they stole my brand new oakley sun glasses my new hat and when we went to the desk to report it they called us liars and threatened to kick us out. my girlfriend locked herself out when i was sleeping and instead of giving her a key they called the police. police woke me out of a dead sleep and put me in jail for public intox. I paid $900 to stay here in a nice room with an "ocean view" well that didn't happened. I got there and the room was a dump and the view was the side of a building no ocean view at all like I paid $900 for, It was just a smelly room with a view of concrete building. To top it all off I spoke to the General Manager as he started eating an apple while talking to me telling me "That's to bad, the building was just put there and you have to look at it like we do everyday" I was so mad and full of distrust I didn't want to stay there I went to a smaller place down the road. I filed a Beter Busines Bureau complaint & I filed a charge back with my Credit card company that I paid them with and the "Shepard's" fought everything non stop and somehow with there deceiving lies denied all my claims and I was stuck paying $900 for nothing I had never even stayed there. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS PLACE EVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!! I have video of how the GM was treating me & my Fiancé. . I moved to Clearwater from Jersey 3yrs ago, I still love my sundays at Shepards Clearwater. The music, outside bars, people, visiters/vacationers, make it a great time. I like the beach area and there are always people on boats. The whole crowd actually is very attractive. I'm very outgoing so if your like me Shephards is a good place for mingling, chatting and making new friends. This place is big so there is much to do and plenty of room to run around. Night time they have an indoor club called the Wave very dressy, nice! Hot people hot floor dancers, the resturaunt area has good food. whats else ummmmmmmm, the staff n bartenders are cool but the bouncers well there attitude stinks! They had one cool guy Daniel but he left. The bouncers are just so quick tempered looking for a fight I always see them kick people out for lame reasons they just want some action I guess, so they feel they are actually doing something. not that i have been kicked out ever I just see what jerks they can be, i still Love this place. :) Pros: best out doors entertainment Cons: bouncers are rude, they think they rule the world....dorks more

The manager stiffed me for $179 even after the local police told him the decent thing to do would be to return my money. The idiot at the front desk lied, the night supervisor lied, the manager is apparently not concerned with customer satisfaction only your money. The worst place to stay in Clearwater beach. Horrible tiny old rooms - the private beach is a joke - 50 ft of dirty sand between pilings and a rock retaining wall - no oceanfront here. Go and dance there but stay somewhere else!!!!!! The DJ's girl friend ends up winning the $500 grand prize. It is so rigged. Also, the food, hotel and staff are all horrible. Their doorman is very rude and you could sit for awhile before a server gets to you. Pros: None Cons: Too many to list more

I had to cancel my business reservations last minute due to health concerns and Paul, the manager, was accommodating and understanding. I appreciated the excellent customer service, particularly considering I was not even a customer! Based on the ease of this interaction, I would recommend this hotel. Pros: Service more
