I have been coming to sheer bliss since 10/4/2013

I have been coming to sheer bliss since 2007 now and don't dare to go anywhere else for my colour , highlights and not I forget BRAZILLIAN that I get every few months. Lana and her assistant Natalia are my favorite and there is a reason for it! I am an extremely picky person and when it comes to my hair it's so evident that Lana can tell stories about me :). I have tried keratin once from another place known for its keratin but the experience was so bad I swore not to go anywhere else but sheer bliss! You will never feel rushed and proper care is given to what you want which is very rare in manhattan's busy salons. Not only you get keratin here but she recommends the best products for keratin for daily use or to protect you hair from chlorine so it lasts for a longer time. Can anyone beat that? Not for me atleast, highly recommend . I have about 20 of my friends who come here and never go anyplace else as they are addicted!! more

I have been coming to this salon since 2008 and love it! I moved to a different neighborhood in 2011 but still come here to get my hair done every 2 months. Everyone is extremely friendly and professional. They will work with you to really understand the look you are going for. If you are looking for hair color and/or highlights, Lana is amazing. I would highly recommend this place. Also - they take walk ins! more

this place is amazing. It's easy to get to and from the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable and welcomed. I have been to my share of salons in NYC and Brooklyn, and there seems to be this snotty vibe going on from the $50 hair cut to the $400 hair salon - you won't find any of that here. So, I had a fabulous time with my stylist, had an amazing consultation of what exactly i wanted to get done, she did exactly what i wanted was the best cut I have had in a long long time. As I paid I found out LANA was actually the owner, and it made me love HER and my hair even more. I finally found a place I can go back to and be happy about. I HIGHLY suggest trying them out. you definitely will not regret it!!!! thank you more

I went to Shear Bliss, as a walk-in, in desperate need of someone to fix a color job gone wrong at another salon. I have difficult, curly hair, with lots of grey and needed help with texture and color. As anyone who has searched for a really good salon in New York will tell you, it can be a real adventure. Having just moved to the City, I was looking for a salon ""home"" and I've found it! I went to two other salons before this one, (one forgot my appointment entirely and no apology after waiting 25 minutes for the stylist to show up and the other, well they left the splotch on top of my head -- enough said!) and walked into several and walked out again after seeing their lackluster stylists and dirty floors. more

Amazinggg. I refer all of my friends here for a reason. I've been to many hair salons in ktown..jtown..queens (you name it..i've been there sort of thing) to get the right color/cut, but Shear Bliss beats them all with their professionalism and personal service. I get my color and cut done by Lana .She is probably the first one to get the hair color that I wanted right (aka dark maple chocolate feel)..without bleaching my hair 3-4 times ).. And I noticed that my hair was growing out much more nicely.. more

I've been to a lot of salons in Manhattan and I have to say that yours is the best one. The service is good, its not expensive, and you get an amazing job out of it. You can actually make friends with the staff. I got my last couple of colors and cuts with Lana and they were really professional. I'm going to go back there soon. See you then! more

I think I have been to every salon in NY ! But my search is over ,I tried this Salon (i admit a little reluctantly) after a few of my co workers suggested it. Got my color with Lana and cut . I couldnt be more pleased with my hair. She was very professional and really listened to what I wanted but best of all she actually delivered on what was promised. The price is half of what I normally pay for mediocre results So now I feel like I won the hair lottery. more

My hair was dry and damaged but I also like my highlighted hair. So after Christine gave me the most beautiful highlights, she gave me the brazilian keratin treatment. My hair has never looked better thank you so much. I love it. more

Great service i would say. I walked in as a walk in. No appointment. They took me even though it was pretty early(half an hour before opening). But she (Lana) was very sweet and very professional. I enjoyed the service and my hair. Very happy, highly recommend. more

The Worst thing is when you have somewhere to be in 45 minutes and notice you need a serious eyebrow waxing and blow out because your hair is a mess. I was stressed out with no time to go to two places and i was wishing i could just pause time and be at two places at once. i see a hair salon and i was rushing then i see i can do a waxing and get my hair done i was soooo relieved and happy not only did my hair come out looking flawless with volume and shine but my eyebrows were done too. thank you Stella & Irina !!!!!!! Nothing but the best 7/16/2010

I recently came across Shear bliss because a friend of mine referred me. Now let me tell you i am PICKY when it comes to my hair which im pretty sure we all are. . we expect to go into a salon and have someone actually listen to what we want and tell us what they think would look good on us. I walk in, it was busy but they attended to me as soon as possible, got a nice scalp massage when getting my hair washed they sat me down and did their magic.. i was pleased and had gotten so many compliments and im going back also referring others. For a guy, this is basically your $100 haircut for 1/3 the price. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Lana is absolutely amazing. Though if you want Lana to cut your hair, I would recommend making an appointment in advance rather then just walking in, she's a busy girl! more

I have been a loyal customer for years. Everyone there is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. It's a fun place to get a cut, yet everyone is very professional and takes what they do seriously. Lana does a terrific job and always listens to what I want. I moved uptown years ago, but I still make the trip down to Murray Hill because it's worth it. more

Would never get my haircut anywhere else 6/18/2010

Been coming here for years. Lana does an amazing job with my hair and somehow they always manage to accommodate me in a pinch. How do I know this? Constant compliments directly after every appointment. The rest of the staff is wonderful as well - friendly and funny. I'm moving out of the Murray Hill neighborhood soon but will find a way to continue coming here. more

ABSOLUTELY WORSE HAIR DRESSER EVER!! 6/7/2010

One day I stopped in Shear Bliss for a cut and blowdry. On the window it listed a few prices that were ok. So Lana was the women who cut and blewout my hair. She convinced me to do highlights, and so I did. Wow was it some experience. The shampoo girls were conversating amongst one another, which I felt they were talkng about me. And then when I finally were able to see my highlights I was mortified!! Never again will I go back to lana! It was the worst hairdresser I've ever been too! more

Great Hair Cuts and Coloring at Even Better Prices! 5/25/2010

Someone at a party once recommended Shear Bliss to me, and since I was in need of a new hair salon I thought I'd go on their word and check it out. From the outside (and even the inside), it's nothing terribly impressive, but I don't care about that. I love my hairdresser, Christine (there M, T, Th and F), and what I love even more are the final results and the bill. Most recently I got half a head of highlights and a haircut for $125. I was paying more than that just for highlights and I wasn't nearly as happy with the results at my old salon. The only drawbacks are that they charge more based on the level/expertise, if you make an appointment and if you request a specific hairdresser. They sometimes run promotions too like a free haircut for first-time customers (over now though I think) and if you refer three people for a haircut or coloring, you'll get that service free next time you go! Pros: Service and prices Cons: Costs more to request a hair dresser or make an appointment more
