I was really nervous going to see Shanna the first time but she is really good! I had highlights and a cut and really liked the way my hair looked. I felt refreshed and got lots of compliments. Thanks Shanna for doing such a great job. My hair looks great! Can't wait til my next appointment with Shanna. more

SHANNA IS AMAZING!!! i am very very picky and i was terrified to get my hair done in austin. i have gone to the same person in houston for 13 years for cuts and highlights, but i could not drive home anymore for a haircut. i started researching places on here, and found shanna. i called and made an appointment, and i thought about canceling it for hours before. i finally decided to try it out and go, and shanna was a life saver. she immediately made me feel comfortable and we talked about everything i liked and didnt like about my color and cut. she made me feel so welcome and my hair looks awesome!! the color was exactly what i wanted, and the cut is amazing. she is fantastic and i would highly recommend her to anyone!! more

Amazing Hair Extensions in Austin! 9/1/2008

After chopping my hair off after a horrible going blonde experience i finally had grown all of my natural hair to about shoulder length but it was taking forever!! I was tired of processing it with hair dyes & wanted my natural hair to be long and full like it is in the movies. Amazing hair extensions! 8/20/2008

This is the first time that I've ever had extensions, and I absolutely love them! She did a fabulous job. They look so natural! I literally have to tell people that I have them, or they would never notice. She did such an amazing job matching the color and texture as well. I could not be happier, and I know for sure that this won't be the last time that I get them from her! more

best haircut ever 8/7/2008

I saw that Shanna was highly recommended (after reading reviews) and decided to try her out because of her curly hair expertise. I was being really picky about my cut and I've had many disasters before with my mass of curls. She did AWESOME! For the first time ever my husband actually noticed that I got a haircut and said I look adorable. I told her exactly what I wanted and she did exactly that. It's hard to find someone that actually listens but she will! She put some really good products in my hair and made good and sure I was satisfied before I left. She's really friendly which is a big plus and I would recommend her to anyone. I won't go anywhere else! For the first time I'm actually glad I have curly hair. I have my fingers crossed, hoping she won't be moving out of state anytime soon, eek! more

Shanna really knows what she is doing 7/15/2008

I was thrilled with my hair extensions from Shanna. I was a first-timer, but I just knew after speaking with her that she was an expert. She put me at ease and made sure that my hair does not look fake, which was my biggest fear! She was very accomodating and fit me in very quickly for a special occasion. She was very efficient and it did not take all day. She is also great at color! more

Love my extensions! 7/6/2008

I am so glad I found Shanna - she has been nothing but amazing since my first appointment back in February 2008. I came to her after a way-too-short style that just wasn't me. I knew nothing about extensions and she was more than happy to give me a quick lesson and consultation free of charge. So, the next thing I knew I was in her chair getting long hair!! I was honestly really nervous at first, but she made the process very comfortable and easy....and I absolutely love them! The color is just perfect for me and the look and feel is so natural!! I am on my second set now and am amazed how they have changed the way I feel about myself and my confidence level. She was and always has been more than accommodating making appointments for me when it was convenient for me. She is more than just a hair dresser - she has also become a friend. I would definitely recommend her for cuts, color and of course, beautiful extensions. You won't be disappointed. more

Great Cut for Long Straight Hair 6/30/2008

Finally, Someone who listens! I've got long straight hair and I want to keep it that way. I went to Shanna and enjoyed her personality, her friendliness, and her willingness to listen! She had some great haircut ideas, but I didn't want to change too much. We talked back and forth a bit and she cut my hair exactly like I wanted her to. Wow... I was so excited to find someone who actually DOES what they say they will do. I know we've all been there- ya know - the trim that ends up being 7 inches off? Natural Wavy Curl Look (Thanks Shanna!) 6/25/2008

I have a long straight hair and wanted to have some body for my hair (wavy curl look) but a little nervous because I had my hair permed before with someone else and it was a disaster. Went to Shanna to consult and asked her to style it as well. She gave me suggestions as to the cut and what she planned to do to achieve the curl look I wanted. The result: AWESOME! OOOh Mi Gosh! Somebody Pleeezzze give this girl a medal! 6/17/2008

I'm one happy camper :) I don't write reviews, too busy. But I HAD to hand it to Shanna, she transformed my so so shoulder legnth tresses into a Hannah Montanna super star style!. I've had hair extensions before from someone eles but they never looked like this before! She used three different colors (dark around the nape and highlighted peices on top, stratigically placed etc...) so it looks soooooo natural. My husband is a critic when I used to get extensions he did'nt really want me to do it but when I came home and he saw my hair his eyes lit up, so has my spirits since I've had this awesome new long hair!!!! Shanna really knows what she is doing. I found her to be exteamly professional and driven. She obviously loves what she does for a living and her talent was exceeded only be her strong desire to surpass my expectations. Her techniques were so cutting edge, few stylist are up on. I highly recomend her to anyone considering extensions. She was not pushy when I was back and forth trying to decide if I should get them. The ""therapy"" she gave was worth the price of admission and her warm personallity led me to confide in her things I ordinarily would not to someone I had only recently met. more

Best Extensions in Austin! 6/12/2008

After chopping off my hair and being miserable, I looked into extensions and kept finding Shanna's name. She called me back within about 10 minutes of my email to her and was so informative of the process. She was able to work me in quickly before my vacation and for the first time ever, I LOVE MY HAIR! I was really nervous about the process but my hair looks so natural! She matched the color perfectly and was so understanding. It only took about 3 hours for everything- color, extensions and cut! She has a great personality and I am amazed at how she transformed my look. I went in for extensions thinking I would just do it once and now...I will do it again! I am so amazed at how natural the extensions are and how much expertise she has with them. I am so glad I found Shanna! Pros: great central location more

Shanna's Totally Awesome Extensions Adventure 6/2/2008

I've never had the type of hair that grew past my collarbone without looking thin, ratty and sad. With summer (and a trip to Paris) approaching, I got the proverbial, and some might say literal, ""wild hair"" . Nothing will secure a better time in Paris than long mane of fabulous hair, sunglasses the size of windsheild, lip gloss.. and perhaps a fake name. Wonderful experience! 5/27/2008

I wanted to share my wonderful experience with Shanna. I recently had a terrible hair color experience with another salon, that left me with very overhighlighted and dried out hair. I was desperate for help! I researched colorists on citysearch in an effort to find someone to repair my hair and found Shanna. I called her this morning to schedule an appointment. She returned my call within 10 minutes and was very friendly on the phone. She rearranged her day so that she could fit me in today, and I would not have to wait over a week for her next appointment. Once I met Shanna at the salon, I was comfortable with her immediately, and confident in her abilities after talking with her about the plan for my hair. She brought my hair back to a much more natural color with a few subtle highlihgts (exactly what I wanted!). The color looks beautiful and I couldn't be happier! Shanna is a true professional and really strives to make her customers happy and provides outstanding customer service. I would very highly recommend Shanna- besides doing an excellent job on my hair, it was a delight to spend a few hours with her. I'm looking forward to seeing her again in six weeks! more

Okay... 5/27/2008

Well...here I go :P... before I wrote my first review, I read everyone else's. Most of the reviews are very good. I think Shanna is VERY friendly. I absolutely loved her personality. She did asked me a lot of questions in regards to my hair, which I think was good. We talked about our kids and a little bit of our daily lives. My hair is pretty thick and curly. I went to Shanna because I had heard and read nothing but good comments about her. So I decided to give it a try. Maybe because I am a hair stylist myself (no longer practice it) I have a better feeling on how ""it should be"". First, she washed my hair with excellent products. In my opinion she could have washed it twice because of the thickness of the hair, it holds more dirt than the usual fine hair. I felt like it was still dirty after she washed it. The haircut was very very good, I really liked it. Then she blowdried my hair and I don't think she gave her 100% because she was in a hurry. At least, that was my perception. I am sure that she can do better than what she did that day if she takes the time to do it. I paid attention to her techniques at every moment. I did like the environment, the area, the parking, the staff...Everyone was really friendly. I was ready to pay what I paid, so I'm not complaining about that. I thought it was reasonable. Unfortunately I wasn't very satisfied. :( I do like her though! She is such a nice girl! :) more

Great Hairdresser Who Listens 5/22/2008

I've been going to Shanna for about three years and she is very professional, highly-organized and fun to talk to. Shanna's greatest asset is that she listens to what the customer wants. If I want to grow out my hair some...she will only give it a lite trim. I have thick, naturally curly hair and have often found it difficult to find someone who knows how to cut it. I was really happy when a friend recommended Shanna to me because knows how to shape and cut curly hair. I enjoy going to Catena's and getting my haircut. It is a pretty salon that gives you a warm-feeling. Pros: On time, organized, friendly, great cut and color Cons: Can't really think of any more

Rapunzel Hair! 5/18/2008

I have naturally curly, very thick hair and Shanna did an amazing job giving me long, beautiful extensions. They match my natural hair perfectly, which was no small challenge! Shanna was super patient and incredibly fun to be around. She also gave me the best highlights I've ever had. I highly recommend Shanna. She is an artist! Pros: artistry, perfectionist, personality. Fantastic stylist! 5/10/2008

It is really hard to find a good stylist who can cut naturally curly hair correctly and it was such a blessing to find Shanna. She gave me a great cut and fixed the butcher job that my previous stylist had given me. She consulted me on the color I want to do and I am really looking forward to having her color my hair. I know she'll do a great job! She made me feel very comfortable and is willing to work with my rather non-traditional way of taking care of my hair. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist! Pros: Ambience, friendly, great service, quick to return calls, tries hard to get you an appt Cons: Parking, neighborhood is kinda trashy more

Fantastic Color 5/8/2008

I had a horrendous color and cut right before going to Shanna, and was understandably nervous about anyone touching my hair again. But she was fantastic - great suggestions, and she even took extra time to fix the front after she'd already finished, just to get it exactly right. I love the color and the cut; it gets compliments constantly. Definitely worth every penny! more

Best color of my whole life 5/5/2008

When I first came to Shanna two years ago, my hair was overbleached and completely unhealthy. In addition, my hair had been turned PINK on numerous occasions by my previous hairdresser in attempts to get back to a more natural color. On my very first visit, Shanna corrected the color perfectly and took me back to my own natural blonde. The cut was fantastic. Now my hair is naturally long, healthy, full, and fabulous. I get compliments weekly on how great it looks. And I love to run my fingers through it -- it just feels so good. Shanna also makes realistic recommendations and is not all about upselling. Before Shanna, I have never had a stylist tell me that my hair doesn't need color yet!! But on one visit, Shanna and I looked at it, and she said it looked fine and that she would just wait until the next visit. She is honest with me about what we should and should not do with my hair -- and she is always right. I always feel like Shanna is paying attention to me and my hair, and never distracted (as other stylists often are). Every visit we actually talk about my hair and what exactly we are going to do with it before we get started. She never just assumes that we are going to do the same old thing. I highly recommend Shanna for colors and cuts. I have also seen her work on other people's extensions, and they are amazing !! Best Extensions, Color and Cut - ""Sheer"" Genius 4/29/2008

What can I say when I came to Shanna 2 years ago my hair was to my chin and a mess. Shanna gave me long beautiful hair in one fell swoop. When I tell people I have extensions they are in awe. Then shanna took me from a blonde to the MOST BEAUTIFUL shade of red. WOW I love being a redhead. I am now a full blown hair extension junky! Even when my hair finally grows out as long as my extensions are (which is almost to my waist!) I will always have them for volume. I have spent my whole life wanting beautiful hair and Ihave it thanks to Shanna. I have never had a hairdresser (and I have been to MANY) takes as much pride and care in their work as Shanna does. I always feel relaxed and at ease in her chair....not to mention she always keeps me laughing. Shes easy to talk to and I always feel she listens to my needs as well. more
