Great Food But Pricey 4/14/2006

I remember coming to this restaurant all the time with a friend. The food has always been delicious and prepared well but they have increased their prices so I havent been here in a while. The restaurant tends to get really crowded too but they always serve the food quickly (I dont know how they do it). more

Good food 12/30/2005

The food here are Shaka's is great. They have tasty shaved ice that you can eat with many different flavors. They expanded a few years ago, allowing more room to sit down. the problem is, it is so popular that everyone goes to eat there and there is not THAT much room to sit down and there is not that much parking. But it is worth the wait. The foods that are really good are the kalua pork and their chinese chicken salad. If you get nothing else, get the salad, it's to die for and you can make it into 2 meals. more

Awesome hawaiian food 9/25/2005

If you are in the area of Monterey part, the food here is great. The best part about it is, after you are done eating, you have to get a shaved ice on the way out. They have about 25-50 different flavors to chose from. I am sure it is less than 50, but the board is so huge, it seems like 100. But anyways, their kalua pork is to die for. Whether you have it in a bowl or plate lunch, you have to try it. If you love chicken, try the sesame chicken, it's also too good. If you are in for a drink i suggest a Hawaiian sun. The only downfall is that it is quite a drive, although they did expand to the OC area, but the parking is hard. If it is busy there, you have to park on the street. But go, it's worth a visit. It's even worth the drive. more

Mediocre Hawaiian food 8/6/2005

I have been to this place since it first opened. I have to admit that over the years, the quality of food has gone down and the prices have gone up. Considering the limited amount of these type of restaurants in the area, it is better than the other ones in the area. If you want better Hawaiian food, I suggest taking a drive down to the South Bay. more
