Waste of money! 2/8/2011

We have been wanting to eat at the famed Seven Stars Inn for 20 years, and finally did so on our 20th anniversary. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED! The waiter was rude and slow, the food only ""acceptable"" and VERY overpriced. The place is noisy and musty, and the bathrooms not very clean. I wrote an email to the management a week ago, and they didn't even bother to respond! We will NEVER go back there! more

This portions at this place are HUGE. The food was very good, I had the prime rib. The place is a little out of the way, but worth the trip. Pros: Good food & staff Cons: Location more

The Original Chester County Steakhouse 2/27/2009

I loved this place. My lamb chop appetizer and my sauteed seafood dinner were some of the best restaurant food I have eaten. My friends live near there and have been going for years. Apparently, this place is like a landmark out there. Pros: Everything important! Cons: Gravel parking lot more

High expectations, low satisfaction. 2/7/2009

I went with a large group of colleagues, many of which were from other countries. Had high hopes after the buzz of planning the night and reviewing their website. Was very disappointed. We dressed for a high class evening and sat through a less than stellar dining experience. I saw people in jeans and sneakers to my chagrin, oh well. I had no idea we could be sittiing near a table with balloons and birthday cake - and yes we sat by and waited to talk while they sang it out loud. This is not supposed to be Applebee's folks, am I wrong? Pros: Quantity only Cons: Where to start, read my review.... more

Had a great night there. 10/3/2007

Not inexpensive, but still a good value. The food was pure ""Steakhouse"" -- Prime Rib, Steaks, Veal -- all old fashioned preparations. The meals were excellent, and were really LARGE. Everyone was very friendly. Service was very good, but not formal. The employees seemed like they worked there for ever. They were proud of all of their new carpeting and painting and paperhanging. In all, it was probably one of the best evenings I have had in a restaurant in a long time. Pros: Food quality and portion size. Friendly service Cons: Best of traditional food, but nothing creative. more

Hugh portions 12/6/2006

Several people where I worked at the time reccomended Seven Stars to us. We went there one day just for drinks and really liked the bar and drinks. Came back another time with My sister for dinner. I was looking forward to what I thought was going to be an exceptional meal and quite frankly was dissapointed. They seem to stress food quantity rather than quality. We all had appetizers as well as main courses. Each protion was easly enough for 2 to 3 people. It was just too much. I love Duck but was not ammused to receive an entire Duck hanging off both sides of the plate. The Duck didn't look good and really was not that greatI've had much better at many other places. No one particularly enjoyed their meal. Service was very slow and the prices on some items are quite high. Also on closer inspection it looks like the Inn is in need of a make over, it looks a little long in the tooth and thread bare. There are other excellent choices in the general area so we need not waste our time and money going back. Pros: Nice Bar Cons: Expensive, Slow Service, Food presentation, tired decor. more

Memorable dining experience 1/18/2006

I often think of a memorable lunch I had at Seven Stars Inn - it was recommended by a local to me and a colleague while we were working on a project in King of Prussia. A beautiful drive to the place, a quaint atmosphere and outstanding service were in store for us. But the best part was the food - the prime rib (although at 2 lbs, quite more than I could handle) and the roast duck (they brought the entire duck!) were cooked to perfection and delicious. If you're dining with someone else, I'd suggest sharing an entree, as the portions are more than mere mortals can handle single-handedly. Makes me want to buy a plane ticket just to go back there! Pros: excellent food, service, atmosphere Cons: not in texas! more
