Good Makeup 5/16/2006

You can really go to this store and spend like 3 hours here. They have every kind of makeup here..in like every color. The last time I went here..I foudn the perfect eyeshadow..something I had been looking for over a month...I found here. As for the service, I thought it was okay. It really depends on whos really helping you. They can be friendly at times..and other times...they just dont care. more

Lots of makeup 5/13/2006

I went in here with my wife when she was on her quest for the perfect fragrance. The store is absolutely packed with every kind of makeup and fragrance you can imagine--all except for what she was looking for. The sales associates were friendly, but as soon as they realized they didn't carry what my wife was looking for, they just turned around and walked away. Although this really isn't my type of store, I'm pretty sure Ulta has comparable prices and a larger selection. more

Uber-useful for samples 5/4/2006

I promised myself that IFFFF I ever encounter a genuinely NICE staffer at Sephora, I'll buy everything that I like there! So far my paycheck has been safe, though. The staff varies from snobby to pushy, and I just tell them what I want to sample, and get out of the store. For any real shopping, I use Sephora.com, especially since they introduced the new card for Chicago area. In April, there was a gift with every order just for having a Sephora beauty insider card! And, of course, the samples with every order, and promo codes that come on those printed books are all fantastic... more

Kinda snobby, but nice products 3/27/2006

If you're looking for some great beauty products, Sephora is the way to go. The people who work there can be a little snobby and mildly pushy, but the selection they have there is great! If you are familiar with Ulta, they're similar but don't carry drugstore brands like Ulta does. Some of their things are a bit expensive, but I've always liked everything I bought there. Also, consider ordering their free catalog - it comes out every season and has lots of new products plus hair and makeup tips. more

What happened to friendly service?! 3/13/2006

Everytime I go here, I get terrible service. Seriously, I have never seen such grumpy and uninterested sales associates. But hey, if you know what you want and don't need any questions answered, this is a cool place to stop. Under one roof, you'll find all sorts of cosmetic items and lots of em have samples out so you can try before you buy. Me, personally, I don't go here. This place needs a major change in customer service policy. Let me know what that happens! more

Diva-ing 3/13/2006

Sephora carries many product lines (and even more online) ranging from inexpensive to "not-on-this-paycheck." The salespeople range from uber-friendly and informative, to grumpy and churlish. If you don't want to buy, but still want to try, ask for a sample. Sephora will give you a free sample of ANY PRODUCT in their store--great for the allergy-beleaguered. I especially like not paying over $50 for a bottle of Chanel No. 5. I just get the sample. more

Variety 7/19/2005

This is a great one stop shop for cosmetics including hair care, facial, and makeup. They care several brands that you wouldn't find in a regular department store. The service has been inconsistent but if you find the right person, it can be very helpful. Feel free to sample products or even ask to try samples to take home so you can test it out before purchasing it. Great place for girly gifts. They also carry cologne and facial care for men as well. more
