Second Time Around Music

A small store that holds a lot of musical and electronic gear. The highlight of the store is the large collection of used CDs and vinyl. They also carry used video game consoles and games at decent prices. Finally, they buy, sell and trade guitars - a good opportunity if you're looking to trade up or down or sell your guitar. The store is kind of grungy feeling, but currently being remodeled (not sure what they are doing to it yet). more

besides the fact that this store is a bit stinky, it is one of the best and cheapest places to find hard to find used cds, they also have a large vinyl collection, videos, and dvd's. they also have an assortment of jewelry, hair dye, incense, t-shirts, and a few guitars and tapestries hanging from the ceiling. they buy most music, movies, etc.. in good condition, and offer student discounts! more

I went into 2nd Time Around looking for a used record player. Inside is a fairly large store of Used LP's and equipment (old stereo and guitars). After I entered this store I wonder what the shopkeep was thinking selling used guitars, stereo equipment, LP's and DVDs. It kind of reminds me of a pawn shop. The LP's are cheap although most not in good condition (Sleaves are stained as well as some scratches). The used stereo equipment is mosly lower end stuff although they do have some retro looking sony and pioneer (Nothing tube). One thing good about this store is every day there is a different special( buy 3 get one free etc... ). Saturday and Sunday are 20% off equipment and used purchases. Fun to browse but I didn't find anything I wanted. more

Second Time Around Records is on The Ave, about 2 blocks south of 45th. They specialize in the purchase and sale of old music (records, cassette, CD), video (VHS, DVD), video games (Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, etc...), and some music / video equipment. Similar to a pawn shop, they have a lot of used inventory at a discounted price. So if you are looking for a cheap or discontinued item, try your luck at Second Time Around... but do expect to spend sometime in the store as they have a lot of stuff to dig through, and do not expect a great deal of customer service. more
