Editorial review from Citysearch 12/7/2013

Wow, can only speak for Seay Center Planoso far and FTR was not inpatient there but was in another facility in their network and also inpatient for 48 hours at Green Oaks and if GO did not take your insurance, consider that a BLESSING in disguise. Inpatient GO was horrifying and traumatic and gave me a degree of PTSD. I'm not exaggerating. \r \r For crisis Seay Center Plano is great, for therapy if you've done a lot some of their group leaders are pedestrian, at best. It's not really effective psychotherapy by any means but it's very clean, safe and compared to a place like Green Oaks it's practically a luxury facility. I'd never go inpatient anywhere outside this network ever, ever, again even if their therapy method is shallow and elementary-like. Their sole purpose is to make sure you're not going to hurt yourself, for real therapy though get a good private therapist because you're going to exist in a world of cliché feel-good platitudes like ""let's build an emotional toolbelt!"" and ""live every day like it's your last!"" more

Sexually Innapropriate staff member 9/1/2013

I had an experience with a social worker that may or may not still be at this facility at another hospital. I went to the hospial without really knowing why . Upon arriving at the hospital I was greeted byt a female staff worker dressed like she was going out on a date or something. (miniskirt, lacy shoes, etc) She told me to come talk with her privatley. I felt this was all part of some kind of ploy by the hospital to pressure me into doing what they wanted. I have a lot of other experience that makes me especially sensitive to things like this. I filed a complaint against her and the ex president of Presbyterian Plano. I was especially disappointed in this person because she is an LCSW and they are the ones who are supposed to be most oware of psychosocial situations like this. Later date repost: I will change my view to recommend If i can be certain that this interesting lady wears scrubs or something! Also, I think my last post came across too negative. I needed to be at the hospital and should accept more personal responsibility. I feel mixedly about texas mental health. Cons: unethical innapprpriate more

This is place is Effed Up!! 11/28/2011

now, let me start first by saying i was a patient at this hospital when i was 17. i was there for almost two weeks, and during that 2 week evaluation i witnessed a boy 1 year younger than me bash his head against the wall because he was denied apple juice with his lunch. trying to pick a fight with one of the patients before one of the shrinks intervened and throwing chairs against the glass door trying to get out before they forced him down and gave him a needle knocking him out. the food is the leftovers from the hospital next door(no joke) the counselors are extremely rude. and the entire time i was kept on my toes around the boy that proved to be dangerous. please dont send your child here. there are other ways to get help. more

Family Focused Intervention 1/25/2010

I have seen many lives and families changed and healed through their participation in this program. The focus is on family and safety. Staff is caring and competent ,and have many years of experience in the field. Staff undergo continued training to stay updated on issues in the field. Improvements have been made to the menu. Pros: Family focus, Caring and competent staff, Medical care Cons: Still growing, Requires participation to work more

The people working here need to be admitted themselves 12/31/2009

This place is the worst excuse for a behavioral health center I have ever seen in my life. To start it wasn't by choice that my family member was sent here it was only because Green Oaks hospital did not take our insurance. Once here (even though Green Oaks had diagnosed the patient with a disorder, and not to mention court ordered to Green Oaks in the first place). So here is what happened after being admitted to the Seay Center. They said that the patient would have to leave because nothing was wrong with her (I guess being a drug addict, anorexic, suicidal, and a pathological liar doesn't count for being problematic). The patient is under the age of 18 and they allowed her to phone drug friends and sign herself out and be released to the friends. Not to mention even the ""security guards"" that worked at the Seay Center encouraged her to leave with the friends instead of her own family. In conclusion not only is the place a sorry excuse for a ""health center"" they actually encourage their patients to do the wrong thing. Pros: Absolutely nothing Cons: staff, they do not run the place like it should more

Not so great 12/7/2009

My adult sister went for addiction to pain pills. She played the game and was out in 5 days. They should have kept her longer. She is going to the outpatient meetings there but she is buying pills and drugs from the other attendees. This place is probably a waste of your money. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Don't give you the help you need. more

It's alright.... 10/5/2009

I've been there as a patient myself, being in and out of therapy I can say that it was alright. They didn't tell me anything I hadn't heard before, but it did help. I met some good people there. I was unaware of some of the issues that BobbyFrost brought up. more

Insurance Mill Only 8/25/2009

Once your insurance is confirmed and your child admitted you will be asked to attend a parent orientation at which time staff will demand that you make discharge arrangements. It doesn't matter that no diagnostician has seen them. They're only staying for 3-5 days anyway. They'll either go to rehab or home with you. In the meanwhile they'll see a psychiatrist maybe once (but you will be billed for daily visits), fed bad food, threatened and usually be ignored. A girl successfully committed suicide during my daughter's stay. Save your child. Keep them away from this place. There are real treatment options in your area. Pros: Clean Cons: Unethical, Careless, Irresponsible, Dangerous more
