Buy somewhere else !!! 3/26/2016

I purchased a brand new PID from seattlecoffeegear for around $260.00. This little device is supposed to make your coffee espresso way easier. I cut a hole for it in my Brand NEW Machine Rancilio Silvia to install it. It took me 4 hours to install, but every step I took I had to double check because my machine is so expensive. I don’t want to make any type of mistakes to cause damage. After all the wiring and installation was done I turned it on for the first time. This PID system supposedly holds the brewing temperature more accurately, but for some reason temperature goes way above the safety limit. So I was scared it would damage my machine and I turned it off. Next I call seattlecoffeegear and spoke to Nakita from technical support. He then guided me through what I was supposed to do. First he thought it had been programmed wrong from the factory. Furthermore after all the many steps I took, he found that there was no problem. He then told me to watch a video on YouTube to show me how to program it, then to call him back after I was done watching the video. I didn’t receive his video, but I found one where Gail explained how to program the PID (There has been plenty of times I had watched videos with Gail, and that enticed me to order this precise system from them. That was a BIG MISTAKE and was very disappointed, so I called Nakita back, told him I never received an email from him with the link for that video. I then told him I found it, and watched it. He asked me only a couple of questions what the settings said on the display to make sure everything was correct. He didn’t come up with any problems. Nakita came up with an idea to record a video again after many times from beginning to make sure that he could clearly see the rising temperature, and make sure all buttons are set correctly. THE WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER! STAY AWAY FROM SEATTLE COFFEE GEAR! 10/31/2012

After receiving this supposedly 'Certified Refurbished' Super Automatic espresso machine, we followed the instructions, and the unit still failed to get past priming the pump. Customer service was no help. Asking us to stick a turkey baster inside a 10 minute old machine is ridiculous! But in hopes of getting it to work, we followed their instructions, Force priming the supposedly 'Certified' refurbished machine. It still refused to work on its own after over an hour of FORCED priming. Clearly Seattle Coffee Gear has no business selling these machines. How can you send out $500+ machines and not even test them? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. After over an hour of failed priming, we decided to return the unit. Then came our next surprise. $69 to ship it back. Atleast it was FREE SHIPPING to us, right? WRONG. They decided to charge us for shipping after we returned the unit, only giving us a partial refund for this piece of crap that was their mistake to begin with. THE WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER. When I first got to the site, I was pretty overwhelmed with the huge selection of espresso makers and especially their different levels. I didn't need a coffee house quality maker just for the simple cups at my home, however I still wanted a nice machine. The people over at Seattle Coffee Gear helped me pick out the right model without trying to sell me on the top of the line industrial equipment. more

When I lived in the city, it was easy to walk to my favorite coffeehouse and get my espresso fix, but moving to the suburbs made it really tough. I decided to get my own machine from Seattle Coffee Gear. They have a very knowledgeable staff that was able to find the espresso machine that fit my needs. In searching for cappuccino cups, espresso descaler/cleaner, a steam wand brush, a new milk pitcher, and a new milk thermometer, Seattle Coffee Gear (SCG) seemed to be the one-stop shop where I could get it all. I completed the purchase, and both the web site and confirmation email informed me that a SCG rep would contact me to let me know how much shipping would be to Canada. more

My partner and I really enjoy a good cup of espresso. We've found this piace after we watched several U-Tube video on how to choose a good machine. Gail is WONDEFUL. She is knowledgeable and friendly. Very helpful. We weren't in the financial position to buy the machine we wanted cuz it was beyond our budget $7000+ with the grinder. But I'm saving up for it and when I do buy it...I'm getting it from Gail. I mean she spent 25+ minute just reviewing all the pros/cons of the different machine we looking at. I was impressed. more

Great Products and Service!! A+ 5/24/2011

There is something about talking to experts that just gets me excited. And seeing a store full of coffee-machine wonks - well, that is cool. I came in after doing extensive research on the internet, looking for an inexpensive espresso maching for my one-a-day americano habit. Even though I wasn't going to be dropping a lot of money (you can find some amazing machines in there), I was treated with respect and never felt that I was being cheap. In fact, they are pretty interested in getting your the right machine for your specific needs, and they agreed with the direction I was already heading. I was also left with the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you buy from an independent business. In today's world, that means something. Each machine has a tag on it that lists the Pros and Cons. It all felt very up-and-up and I liked that fact they have an experts' viewpoint of the features and benefits of their products. And I loved the silly, personal videos on the website! It let me know about the persopnality of the business and gave me a taste of their passion for their product. My only suggestion: I had to ask some leading questions to the salesperson about accessories I'd need, asking if there were machines that might cost just a bit more but have better features, etc. - In other words I had to do the upselling myself, and I think the staff could do a better job with this, which would result in me, the customer, getting even better service and products! Very happy and I will be back. more

I recently ordered an espresso maker and coffee from your company. The FedEx delivery took several days longer than it should have due to some glitch in the local FedEx office. When the package arrived, the box was partially crushed. I contacted FedEx, whose representative told me that I needed to complete a claim form. When I called back to complete the form, I was told by another FedEx representative that I was supposed to have contacted the sender, Seattle Coffee Gear. So, I did. When I contacted your company, I was referred to Dane, who was at all times professional and courteous. He took care of all that needed to be done in handling my claim and provided me with timely updates. His interaction with me was excellent. He worked with Fed Ex and was true to his word. In fact, after my first conversation with Dane, I felt confident that, whatever the outcome, he was doing his best to resolve the claim to my satisfaction. These days, it is hard to even get someone on the telephone; it is truly extraordinary to have the luxury of interacting with someone who is intelligent, forthright, and follows through, especially when the subject of the conversation concerns a problem. Dane's conduct was exceptional. If I order any coffee gear in the future, I will do so from Seattle Coffee Gear and will recommend your company to friends and family -- largely due to Dane's superior representation of your company. more

Just want to drop a quick line to thank you all for a wonderful site and fun videos. I just started a pursuit to learn espresso and pull great shots. I came across your site and almost visit daily to watch more videos and get tips and tricks as well as see what I want to purchase. Gail and Kat crack me up, I look forward to new video no matter if it is a product I am interested or not. Thanks also for introducing Velton to me, through your videos, I got some bonsai and am blown away. Lastly Mitch was a great help keeping me informed about a backorder and not keeping up in the air where my stuff was. I have worked in retail and understand customer service and see when people are genuine. I look forward to one day visiting the store when I get to the west coast. I wanted to express my sincere thank-you to customer service at both Saeco and Seattle Coffee Gear regarding the swift repair of our Espresso Maker. As the warranty info. stated that repairs could take 4 – 6 weeks, we were pleasantly surprised when UPS dropped of our espresso maker today. I had shipped it only a little more than a week ago, and hadn’t even had a chance to call to check the “status of the repair”. We fired it up upon arrival and it worked perfectly. Given that “customer service” is not always all it’s cracked up to be, I thought I should drop you a note for a job well done. Now my husband won’t have to go to Peet’s every day for his fix. more

It pulled terrible shots. Worse than the one I had already. I made contact to return the item and they started asking me about my grinder? I told them My grinder is fine for espresso fine grind and I asked for my RMA # so i could return it. They never answered the 10 emails i sent and completely blew me off. THIS STORE IS A SCAM! THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF YOU! THEY DO NOT DO HONEST BUSINESS! DO NOT BUY FROM SEATTLE COFFEE GEAR! PERIOD! more
