Probably hit or miss 4/4/2006

Since so much can go wrong with an appliance and the cost to repair it is so high if you don't know how to do it yourself, we didn't think it paid to shop at the Sears Outlet for any appliances. If you are really handy and have a good knowledge base about a lot of different appliances and how to take them apart and get them back together again, it would be worth it to check them out. Our neighbor did find a wonderful deal on a tiller there, though. One of the really big ones for around $200 after the summer season. We just didn't find anything so great there. more

Know your prices 4/3/2006

I went here looking for a scratch and dent fridge. I found the scratches, but not the fridge. Almost all of them were extremely overpriced for the shape they were in. The sales staff was no help... they basically told me to wander around, which was better than having somebody trail me the whole time. However, I left without even thinking of purchasing anything. I had much better luck at Appliance World's scratch and dent center. more

Dings and Dents On Appliances 4/1/2006

I wasn't happy with this shopping experience. Granted they only have one or two of each item, but some of this stuff is plain old garbage. I cannot imagine trying to sell this stuff. I am talking about broken TV's, refrigerators that are TOO dented!! The store was dirty on my visit. Dirty floors, even dirty windows. I also felt that their prices were too high. I also tried haggling over prices, which was an instant no. For the few extra bucks, buy it brand spanking new and let your own kids but the knicks and bangs in it. Spending that much money, you deserve better. more

Sears Outlet Store 7/25/2005

Sears Outlet Store is a good stop when you are looking for appliances. They sell the scratch and dent merchandise that they will not sell on the regular store floor. They also carry discontinued items. You need to really inspect the items prior to purchase. And look for the dings and dents. And sometimes it's more than just that. It could be that the appliance does not work at all. I have noticed in there that the price of the damaged goods is usally only about $50 cheaper than it is the retail store when it is in perfect condition with a warranty. more
