Don't ever go here. 11/22/2011

Recently purchased new tires from Sears. Initially, everything seemed fine. On-sale tires, quick to put on. Within 12 hours of the new tires being placed, I had a flat. AAA changed flat, and immediately, we took the car back to Sears (on a Saturday). First, we were told the stem valve was loose. 4 hours later, we were told the tire was manufactered wrong, and a new tire would be in on Monday. Come Monday afternoon, after Sears had the car for 6 hours, we were called and told that there was a puncture in the side wall. Because that was completely different from what we had first been told, I told the tech. to not spend any money on the tire, and to double check with another tech. 2 hours later, I called back, and was told that it was "patched".... which is funny, because you are not supposed to patch a puncture in the side wall. The tech told me it would cost "about $20". Also frusterating, because we heard 4 different stories in 3 days from 4 different people. After speaking to the manager, I am still unclear about what exactly went wrong. Never got a new tire. I will never go to Sears for any car repairs, ever. Pros: null Cons: null more

10 quarts 9/12/2010

They put 10 quarts of oil in my engine. It holds 5. As a result, oil was sucked into the intake and fouled the spark plugs. more

Stay the hell away from here 7/26/2010

Well, the review BEWARE wrote before is the same thing I have to say - wrong (either incompetent or crooked) diagnosis and you leave there with the same problem you had coming in. Pros: none Cons: charge you for unnecessary repairs more

Poor service, faulty part, long wait times. 2/8/2010

I recently went into sears auto center for an oil change and headlight replacement. I was helped by someone who checked my car in and gave me a price estimate for the two service requests. He gave me a time estimate of 30 to 45 minutes but assured me that he would call me as soon as the work was done as I had other errands to run that afternoon. About 20 minutes later a service representative called to tell me that I did not have any coolant in my car and that I needed new wiper blades. I agreed to the wiper blades but was leery about the lack of coolant. I waited around for another 40 minutes without getting a phone call so I decided to return to the sears. My car was sitting finished and no one had ever notified me of the service being complete. As it turned out talking to a different rep that I did in fact have coolant in my car but they wanted to do a complete coolant exchange which was never mentioned. Pros: convenient location, good prices Cons: poor customer service, very long wait times more

BEWARE 8/19/2009

I stopped by Sears to get an oil change because I had a gift card (which I got because I purchased $600 worth of new tires at Sears weeks earlier). A few days later I noticed an oil leak, so I went back to the shop. They took my car in right away and said - "this is the car with the stripped out oil plug from last week". I said no one told me about it! The manger showed me the comment section on their system where it said "oil drain PLUG is bad - needs replacing very soon". Then the manager said... "actually its your oil pan that needs replacing". They recommended I not drive it, so they kept my car overnight - making it hard to get to work the next day. The manger called the next day and quoted me $350 for the job, so I decided to get a second opinion at a local shop. Turns out... Sears tried to scam me. All I needed was a new oil PLUG which cost me $15. I even have the old bad oil plug as proof that it was bad and not the pan. BE CAREFUL!!!! Pros: Hours of service Cons: Selling you what you don't need more
