Terrible customer service. Untrustworthy and incompetent. 9/22/2008

We gave them our lawnmower to fix and they tried to get us to agree to a whole bunch of repairs it didn't need. They refused to only fix what it did need. Finally we asked them to return the lawnmower without fixing anything on it. Well, it turns out, they ship all lawnmowers to be repaired to Dallas. Our mower was in Dallas! They only run a truck back and forth to Dallas on Tuesday and Thursday. And somehow, though we made several phone calls and went into the shop a few times, they kept forgetting to put our mower on the truck back from Dallas. It took us four weeks to get our mower back. Oh, also, we kept getting this automated messages saying that our lawnmower was ready for pick-up, and we'd get out hopes up, only to go in and find that it really wasn't there yet. They are totally incompetent! If you try to call them, plan on either getting a recorded message ,or being re-routed to India for "customer service" which is really no service at all. AWFUL! Pros: None Cons: Late, untrustworthy, incompetent, no customer service skills, hard to get manager on phone more

sears auto service slam 8/20/2008

I've used Sears Auto in Hancock Center for many years for batteries and tires, because it it in my neighborhood. While I have no complaint about the quality of their products or prices, their customer service is just the worst. I realize that auto shop staff is generally not very approachable or helpful, especially to middle-aged ladies, but Sears takes it to a whole notha level! When I hang out politely waiting for service, they don't acknowledge me, and they are always very silent (surly?) when I check out. I mildly asked them for a bill breakdown and they looked at me like I was crazy. So I just docilely paid so I could asap escape from the black hole of negativity. Once, they really lied to me, but I won't go into that. The management of the shop must condone rudeness or it's just a very unhappy work place. more
