Government Ripoff 6/28/2011

Tomorrow is my second visit with this group. I have 5 private doctors confirming my disability, but their ""doctors"" disagree. Seagate's admin staff and x-ray techs are polite, professional & caring. But, the so-called medical staff are no more doctors than the guys who serve fast food. Exams are 5 mins or less and cannot be considered thorough enough to make such life-changing decisions. There were a few people in the waiting room who did not appear ill, but illness is not always outwardly visible. These ""doctors"" never even look you in the eye. Anyone can put on a lab coat, but that does not make them a doctor. There are no real doctors at this facility.....and that is why they were hired by the federal government. The tax money I paid for over 40 years is better spent on illegals than US citizens. more

Who's looking for free money? 6/23/2010

I went to Seagate for the first time this week. Yes, I read the reviews but you can't believe what they say. They are just angry because they were probably to they were not disabled now that seems logical. I have to say, there are too many people claiming to be disabled. I met a lady with an oxygen tank but she was smoking a cigarette (c'mon, really). There was another lady who said she cannot worked because she was too depressed and she had trouble getting up in the morning. I am disabled because I have severe arthritis and I cannot open my hands. Our government is broke because of people who are really just too lazy to get a job. Some of us really deserve getting disability and if you were denied, good - go get a job. Pros: I liked my doctor more

I trusted the Judge, silly me 2/27/2010

I was just in shock after my last visit to this medical group. A friend drove me and helped me get dressed after Dr. Kangaroo examined me. ISN'T ANYONE OUT THERE INVESTIGATING this sham?? Cons: yep thats what I would call them CONS more

beware 2/1/2010

if you are sent to seagate medical group for a ""second opinion"" by a government entity, be sure to get a copy of the report; i did, and my report had information regarding a completely different patient in some paragraphs, yet my disability status was based on that person's information; luckily i had a copy of the report and was able to clear up the problem; was the doctor neglient, sloppy, or exactly what? in any event, just be sure you get a copy of your report; this is one poorly run, sleazy outfit and our tax dollars are paying for this Cons: incompetent more

Beware of Seagate and Colette Valette 12/17/2008

This is a sham medical group that never provides any medical services but exists to help the government deny disability SSI and SSA benefits. The doctors working for Seagate always find claimants not disabled so if the government tells you to go to Seagate, tell them no, and tell them to send you to some real practicing doctors. The whole Seagate group is a scam on claimants, a fake and a big fraud. They have been paid by Social Security Administration and State Disability Group to render opinions of non-disability which would be used by the Agency to deny benefits, so beware and DON'T GO. The SSA has no right to force you to go to Seagate Evaluation, anyone else is better. The other scam is the Colette Valette PhD mental psychological group. Those two are the worst in San Diego. Cons: Everything is a scam and fraud more

Bad Medicine 8/25/2008

Funny how the last three reviewers had such a similar experience to my own with this messed up medical group. My first response to my boyfriend upon leaving the evaluation was, ""i doubt very seriously that woman was a real doctor"". Pros: I can't see any Cons: it's simply a racket more

Do not expect much!!! 12/5/2007

I was told to go to this office to verify a disability. I brought along everything they asked me to bring. When I met with the doctor he was rude and did not listen to anything I had to say. He took very few notes on my condition or medical history. He asked if I had any tests done and when I said yes he asked for the copies of those tests. They never asked me to bring any of that nor did they ask me to sign a medical release to get copies from my doctors. Pros: The X-ray tech is very nice Cons: Everyone appears to hate their job more

Unprofessional manner for a State recommended medical exam 9/1/2007

This appointment was arranged by the Dept. of Social Services(Lucy K. Hildebrand). I arrived with the requested items ( medications and picture ID) The doctor informed me I would need to come back with my prosthetic leg for gait evaluation. I asked why the appt. confirmation didnt include the request to bring the leg with me, her response was flippant- stating I should wear the prosthetic all the time- I informed her of the problems with socket size and resulting skin breakdown, and back problems- The leg is being modified for fit- I will come back in one week for the exam with the leg- This doctors name is Dr. Akins-before she checked my ears, nose and throat, she asked how I lost my leg- A motorcycle accident caused a left leg amputation above the knee- TBI(traumatic brain injury) Abodominal degloving and complete fracture of left arm- resulting in very limited range of motion and strength- Her response to this was belittling to my character and she went on to comment on my tattoos- ""Did you get the tattooos before or after the accident?"""" And this ensued a lecture on how to present myself to a prospective employer- As to hide the tattoos with clothing or makeup to make a better impression. The exam did not include attention to the health of the amputation or any of the other injuries. I left the office with a feeling of an inadequate service and attention to the required evaluation of my physcial disabilities. The personal opionions of this woman have caused a great amount of undue stress resulting in several seizures. I am going to contact the Department of Social Services to make an official complaint and to arrange another evaluation. Pros: The parking is okay Cons: Poor evaluation of a State recommended agency more

Unprofessional and rude. 10/10/2006

I have over 20 years of documentation, tests and surgeries by the top Drs in their fields. Cons: Waited 2 hours past appt time, very rude and unprofessional more
