First time haircut 5/19/2011

I was very pleased with my haircut. Alyssa took the time to cut and shape it nicely. Lex also did a great job of washing my hair and massaging my neck and hands. The welcome and attention given to every aspect of my time there was great! more

Hair cut yesterday 5/18/2011

I can't say enough about Michelle. She is an amazing stylist and colorist. She is also a very nice person and communicates well. Because of her I am no longer fearful when I have my hair done. I consistently feel happy and pretty when I leave even on a day like yesterday when I am at the end of a cold! more

Great Customer Service and Cut 5/18/2011

I went to see Chloe, and from making the appointment that day to the final style, I had a great experience. I was greeted and offered a beverage upon arrival, I was seen on time, and Chloe gave me a wonderful, honest consultation. The shampoo and free neck massage was relaxing (thanks Lex!), and the cut was efficient and professional. Chloe had me in and out in under an hour! I'm going to return for highlights. more

washing and shampooing of dye after the process was not properly done and dye remained in the back of my hair and neck after wash and blow dry more

Be careful 5/16/2011

I've had good haircuts, but be careful who you choose for what type of cut. Allysa is fantastic. Krystal butchered my hair. Both are 'junior' stylists. more

My Experience 5/13/2011

My experience at Scott J is always amazing right from the start. The girls that wash your hair have magical hands I love the way they massage your scalp and down to your neck and shoulders. The girls that cut your hair are friendly and polite you can go there with a picture of the haircut you want and you leave looking better then the picture you brought with you. Words can not describe how satisfied I am, to me they are the best! more

great waxing, but.... 5/9/2011

I love Scott J. It's convenient, has everything I need, and most of the people are very nice. There's only one issue. The waxing/facial rooms really need a thorough cleaning. Top to bottom. The cabinets, the floors, the heaters, the walls all need a once-over. Maika is fabulous. She does an incredible job, whatever she does, and she is personable and lovely. more

-my stylist (Kikki) is great -- the other staff are unfriendly, unresponsive, slow -not a pleasant atmosphere -impoortant to be able to put gratuity on credit crad -- or at least at the amount to the card and get as cash to leave for staff more

Great Facial 5/3/2011

I visit from 2 years Scott J at Broadway - Upper West Side mainly for a facial. I'm a repeated client of Maika. She does a great job with my face whom skin is not easy to be maintained, believe me :)) Maika is a wonderful professinalist and beloved person. Haircut and blow dry for long hair with Alyssa 5/1/2011

I had a haircut and blowdry for my long hair with Alyssa. She was very good at listening to my requirements and looking at the pictures that I had brought along. So far (it has only been one day) I am satisfied with my haircut. However, I am not happy with the amount of product used in my hair. Too much hair spray and cream have made it flat and weighed down. Also a little clumpy. I have frizzy, somewhat curly, dry hair but it never requires so much product to blow-dry. I can't even run my fingers through it! When I get a haircut blowdry I usually can keep the styling for 4 days or so because my hair is so dry. Unfortunately, this time it will have to be washed out sooner:( more

The haircut was phenomenal. I arrived a bit early, everyone was friendly, offered me water/tea, and I was even able to start a few minutes early. The hair stylist did a great job. I have been getting many compliments. more

less than impressed 4/26/2011

I did not receive the haircut I requested and the stylist did a poor job. I asked for 4" cut and even showed the stylist how much and where to cut up to. She maybe cut 2". I also asked for framing layers around my face and she basically cut my right side an inch shorter and now it looks choppy. I'm relieved I didn't have her give me the cut I initially planned on getting. It definitely wasn't worth the price I paid. more
