Ham

I purchased a burger smoked from them one thanksgiving and the ham was rotten. They did give my money back. I just wonder how many more hams were bad.

My favorite stop on our way to the country 11/20/2012

I look forward to shopping at Schulte's on our way from our home in St. Louis to our place in the country. It has delicious fresh fruit pies and bakery items, an adequate produce section, and good meats that are priced better than at my local large grocery store. There are other places to shop, but Schulte's has been my faforite for 17 years! more

Love it! 10/5/2012

I love the small store feel with varieties and choices. Their meat department is know for some of the best and freshest meat in town. People stop to get steaks and various grilling items on the way to the Lake of the Ozarks because of Schulte's high quality. They even carry your groceries out.. Just like a small town store...absolutely love it! more

Suck 1/24/2011

This place is probably one of the dirties grocery stores I have ever seen. Looks like some of their departments have major mold problems and mice problems. Their meat department still have flies stuck to it's window from probably a couple years ago. I have also seen items there that didn't have a date on them and smelled like nail polish thinner or something. Which means they rub off dates and sell expired goods. I wouldn't even be surprised if their scales weight things as heavy. People should watch out for this place. more

Good: Nothing. Bad: People are rude. They sell a lot of expired goods and don't tell people they're expired. I know someone there who said they take paint thinner or nail polish and rub off dates on a lot of their items. Some of the meat is good if their cooling system is working. Their meat selection is good but a lot of the items like I said are either expired or close to.. Improvements: Don't think any amount of improvements would fix that place.. Other: I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. In fact I would tell people when they go in their to look at their deli and meat dep and at how dirty they actually are.. more

Fresh Baked Goods and Great Produce 7/20/2005

Schulte's IGA was once the largest grocery in a small town. They have stayed with only one store and by doing so have kept the reputation of having the freshest meat and the best produce in Jefferson City. On top of that, the bakery is run by one of the best bakers in town, and the store's donuts and cinnamon rolls are famous in the area. It has maintained that small store atmosphere in a time of chain store takeovers. more
