Best

I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants here in Atlanta and in Chicago and New York as well, and Santoor is still my all-time favorite. You might not think you'd find something ...

Worst

i have been there once and the food is not that good...... we have to wait for a lot of time to get them to get our attention Cons: Everything

Not worth for the money spent 3/14/2011

I did not like the food at all. It was not worth for the money spent. Too expensive and NOT worth. Unbelievable Bill. more

DO NOT GO THERE 2/10/2011

They serve only 8 items. 2 meat sabji, one kind of dal (Lentil), one vegetable sabji, nan, plain and spice rice. For that, they charge $8.95 + tax. There are lots of good restaurant on exit 11 and 10. For ex kMadras Chetinad, Krishna Villa. Go there. more

The Finest Indian Dining Experience 11/18/2010

My wife and I pulled off GA 400 last night just to visit Santoor. What an incredible dining experience! The hostess Anjali Roy was so nice and we enjoyed sharing our thoughts on the food, family and the wonderful ambiance. The chicken tikka massalla and bhuna were outstanding. We recommend complementing your meal with the homemade naan bread. The succulent spices were blended with fresh ingredients and the dishes were made from scratch. The galab jamun dessert was a little too sweet for our taste. All in all we had the ultimate dining experience and will return with guests in the near future. more

This is not food. Its a rip off 10/14/2010

I have never seen such horrible food in my life. The biggest mistake I did I tried to look at the rating on the internet, should have gone with the bad ones. I think the owner is writing the reviews by himslef to keep thuis place running. It was so embarassing, horrible worst food I have ever seen. I later really felt why did I not confront that lady who served the food, it was pathetic...the food was so bad that we really could not eat it. I think she realized it well enough I was at the verge of exploding. I have seen people complain about the service or being slow but after going there I think they should just close. Its stale food with horrible taste and the worst service. We asked for the recommended food dishes from the lady who seems to be the owner and the server, they don't know what they are cooking, it doesn't even taste like food. Please don't go here if you want to taste Indian food, this restaurant embarasses my country's cooking and serving style. Go somewhere else, eat at Mc Donalds but not here. more

MOST FOWL PLACE!!!!!! 5/19/2010

This place is so horrible! We left after one bite of food. There were bugs all over the place, the restroom was filthy! DO NOT give this place your business. The owner was the rudest person Ive ever met in my life! Pros: NOTHING AT ALL! Cons: DISGUSTING more

Pathetic!! 9/12/2009

Went for a weekday buffet. This was after we had tried other restaurants in the area - Madras Chettinad, Tadka, Sri Krisha Vilas. So the hopes were high. But as another reviewer has already written. Do not believe the ratings. This is especially true about Santoor. There wasn't a single dry curry. Even curries that are traditionally dry were ""liquidy"". The consolation was the sweet lassi we ordered separately. The cost of the buffet was close to what you would pay for at all of the above restaurants where the variety and quality of food far surpasses Santoor. The service is very good and friendly but if that is the only thing good, that cannot be the motivation to go to this restaurant!! Poor..poor...poor Pros: Good service Cons: Bad food, not enough variety more

BLAND and OVER PRICED 3/1/2009

Very bland curry, even when we asked for spicy. Really disappointing as the owners said they moved here from Sheffield, UK, so we were expecting the same level of curry we get in the UK. They really need to update the style of curry. BLAND and really over priced too. Cons: Bland food, Expensive. more

Be careful... all indian restaurants are rated 4 or more on 5 7/8/2008

There is no Indian restaurant that does not have a 4 / 4.5 star review. Pl be careful. We are an unethical breed of people and inflate our ratings. Least realising that all indian restaurants end up being 4.5 on 5. Pl use word of mouth and personal discretion to visit all of these restaurants. more

all time favorite Indian place 4/4/2008

I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants here in Atlanta and in Chicago and New York as well, and Santoor is still my all-time favorite. You might not think you'd find something like this in a little strip mall in the suburbs, but there it is and the food is always delicious. My wife and I are big fans of the chana masala, aloo sag and vegetable korma, but we've never ordered anything here we didn't like. The samosas and nan breads are the best I've ever had. The rice pudding is also especially good. The service isn't lightning fast, but it's always sincerely friendly. A must-try if you're in Roswell and well worth the drive if you live in the city. Pros: authentic, consistently delicious food more

Best Indian I have had in Atlanta 3/14/2008

I'm by no means an Indian food expert. I have been to more than one restaurant in the Atlanta area, however, and Santoor is my favorite. The food is always delicious, and we always have leftovers to take home. The owners of the restaurant are very friendly and recognize us when we come in. I've only been there about 10 - 15 times in the past year, and he knows my favorite beer! The only thing I would caution against is do not go here thinking you'll be in and out in an hour, but it's a quality experience all the same. Pros: Food, Friendly Cons: Hard to find more

Great Indian Food without having to travel to London!!!! 12/31/2007

As far as we are concerned Santoor is one of the best Indian restaurants in the South. My wife is from England and we always compare the Indian restaurants that we eat at in the US to the great ones that we have eaten at in London and the rest of England and Santoor ranks with the best of them. The offerings are simple and to the point but that is how we prefer it because we know it is always consistent and good. Plus, their prices are very reasonable for the quality of food that is offered. If we take friends out that have never had Indian we always take them to Santoor because we know we can depend on a quality meal. One of our favorite meal is to order a dish of Chicken korma (sweet) and a dish of Chicken Madras (hot) or Vindaloo (incredibly hot) and then combine the two. The Sag Aloo is a great side dish with potatoes and spinach. Don't miss the Shrimp Puree for an appetizer. It is wonderful. We prefer the cream version but the tomato version is also nice. When you go to Santoor you have to be patient. It is a mom and pop restaurant and sometimes mom and pop can get pretty busy but the food always arrives hot and delicious - well worth the wait. Pros: Fantastic food!! Cons: Good food somtimes take time to make! more

Great food & service 11/21/2006

Warm & friendly service with delicious food = A #1 in my book! The food is cooked to order or weekly lunch buffet, with a great & varied menu. Pretty decor & never had to wait for a seat. Pros: great food, service & ambience Cons: location tucked away, need advertising more

Good Indian Food 11/20/2006

We have eaten many times at this restaurant (and the one these owners used to have on Roswell Road). The food here is very consistent and dependable. The owner is very pleasant and strives to make sure you have a good experience. more

Delicious 11/14/2006

I've lived in Atlanta for many years, and I've eaten at various Indian restaurants. Sitar of Tandoori on Peachtree and Maharajah on LaVista used to both be faves before they closed. However, Santoor is surely a great way to cope with those losses: I tried it for the first time last night, and was very pleased. We had Vegetable Chaat as an appetizer; my husband had Chicken Tikka Masala for his entree, while I ordered Lamb Korma, and both were so good that we wanted to keep eating them after we were full. Our heads turned at the wonderful smell emanating from another diner's Tandoori mixed grill of lamb, chicken, and I -think- shrimp. Pros: Delicious Indian cuisine Cons: At busy times, it might be difficult to find a parking space more

Best Indian in Georgia! 10/19/2006

I drive across town to dine here. The reason that the service is a little slow is because they don't PRE MAKE THEIR FOOD! Pros: Great food, friendly Cons: Far from the city more

Decent Indian Food 9/7/2006

I've eaten at this place a bunch of times now and I must say it's as good as some of the best indian food I've ever had...I've lived in Boston, NY, and Los Angeles...There's another place up on Winward that's pretty good too...Andy's I think? But this place has some super nice people working there but they are slow as molasses...I do take out and give them awhile...They should deliver... Pros: Good food, nice people... Cons: Could use an update inside... more

Extremely Disappointed 6/7/2006

The service was terrible. The waiter served everyone pompadoms except me. $2.00 was added to my entree for no apparent reason and the Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like old buffet chicken tikka doused in Kraft BBQ sauce. more

Not That Good 3/24/2006

i have been there once and the food is not that good...... we have to wait for a lot of time to get them to get our attention Cons: Everything more

Awesome!! 3/1/2006

Being a Brit living in th US, I have missed real Indian food so badly. There are more Indian Restaurants in the UK than any other. Until I found the Santoor, I had been so disappointed with the food served up in ATL Indian restaurants. The Pakoora is simply the best and I also go for 'British' hot Vindaloo. Wow!!!! This place deseves to be Number 1 on everyone's hitlist of must do restaurants. Pros: food, service, congeniality more

Love it love it Love it!!!! 2/22/2006

I've been coming for years! A trip to Atlanta warrants a trip to Santoor. I first came to Santoor when it opened in 2000 and 10 years later, this is still my favorite Indian restaurant! The service is very homely and the food continues to be delicious. My favorite dishes are Lamb bhuna, Chi tikka Masala, Tandoori Mixed Dinner, and naan with a couple of bottles of Kingfisher - YUM! Another favorite thats new to the menu is Chicken Naan is great appetizer. Pros: Price, Authentic Food, Ambience Cons: More Advertising more
