Not Good Via Delivery 2/3/2011

If I could give negative stars, I would. I had a terrible experience ordering food from Sante La Brea. Now, I've never been to the restaurant - so the experience may be completely different when you're actually there in person. But, ordering food for delivery was a nightmare. Out of 12 lunches ordered only one person had their order correct, felt the food was as described, and liked it. The other 11 either had issues like 'There's no steak in my sizzling steak fajitas' or things like 'this ahi tuna is overcooked (and it was, cooked solidly through so there was no pink at all, not seared as expected), and smells like cat food'. They also took an hour and a half to deliver. This wouldn't be so bad if they had simply said so- but they estimated the time as 45-60 minutes. Look, at least give me some options- just tell me that it's going to take 90 minutes so I can plan accordingly, or choose to order from somewhere else. The verdict on set: NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!! I really wanted it to be good, as we have vegetarian, vegan and gluten allergic folks here, and I love to offer them good, healthy options when we order food in. But, Sante La Brea utterly failed to deliver- at least via delivery. more

Easy Peasy Healthy Food 1/14/2010

THEY'RE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Man, it's been a long tumultuous road with this place. We started off on a high note, it was love at first sight. We had a torrid weekly love affair. Then things got predictable, but I hung in there. Then one day, like with most relationships, it just went sour. And I didn't come around anymore. I needed some space. Then after a prolonged break, I popped in to see how things were doing. They had made some changes, things looked promising. And now? Well it's better than ever! And their Baja Tostada Salad is like falling in love all over again. Sante, it's so good to have you back! Pros: easy to park, fair prices, vegan options more

Great Food for our Party 7/20/2008

We have enjoyed eating the delicious and healthful cuisine of Sante for over a decade, but had never tried their catering services until yesterday, when we had a small party in our home. Pros: Healthful and delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, interesting decor, attentive and intelligent service, very reasonable prices Cons: Nothing, really. The decor used to be a bit funky but they renovated recently and everything fell into place without losing the good stuff. more

2 hours to deliver food 4/28/2008

The food is good, however i was not happy that my food took two hours to be delivered. Not a good thing. Especially that it was supposed to be delivered in the vincinity Pros: excellent healthy food Cons: extremely long delivery for one order more

Undiscovered Masterpiece 11/10/2007

The same menu as the extremely popular A Votre Sante on the westside, and now, thanks to an extensive recent renovation, even better decor. I've been a fan of Sante La Brea's shockingly tasty and innovative health food for two years and am even more enthusiastic about it now that they've put the finishing touches on their total interior/exterior makeover. This really is a secret worth sharing. Go. You won't be disappointed. Standouts: salmon wrap, chicken curry wrap, falafel wrap, dragontail stirfry, vegan cookies and desserts. more

Wow 10/28/2007

Not only does Sante offer healthy wholesome meals, but they do an excellent job making healthy taste good! The servings are quite large and the prices totally affordable. The food is made fresh to order but still comes out pretty quickly. If you like healthy, good quality food, then this is definitely the place to go. more

Delicious! Great Prices. A Favorite. 11/20/2006

This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. It's especially great for breakfast or lunch. They have one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen, with loads of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as options for meat-eaters. There are several types of food available, including Mexican, Asian, Middle Eatsern, and Italian dishes. Their chili is simply delicious. I am a big fan of the T&T and South of the Border entrees. You can view their whole menu online, which is a plus for deliveries. They have a large beer and wine list. Their prices are modest and the service is superb. A+ Pros: extensive delicious menu, vegetarian options, great price, healthy food more

Avoid at all costs 7/19/2006

This place is horrible. The spices are just off, and the food tastes bad. Furthermore, it's super expensive. They don't deliver south of Olympic, or after 9:00. Cons: Low-quality Food, Very high Price more

Great Restaurant! 6/14/2005

This is one of the few restaurants where you can get great tasting food that is actually healthy for you. And it's surprisingly affordable. Also, vegans and vegetarians will be pleased with this restaurant. The staff is super knowledgeable, and they are willing to accomodate your dietary needs. Even better, ALL of the desserts are suitable for vegans and vegetarians! Pros: price, healthy, affordable Cons: parking more

Wonderful 12/28/2004

I ate at Sante La Brea for the first time last weekend and was so pleased with everything. I had the Mexican Lasagna and ate every bite of it, plus had a few bites of my friend's SLT, which was also incredible. Even though I was completely full from my meal, I was so delighted at all of the vegan dessert choices that I had to have a slice of the strawberry shortcake which was even better than it looked. Everyone I was with, including two meat eaters, loved their meal. I can't wait to go back! Pros: great food, inexpensive, VEGAN DESSERTS!! more

Great Service 6/21/2004

As a meat-eater, I really enjoyed this place. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food (mostly vegan - no dairy, no eggs) was pretty good. For those of you that are meat-eaters, they offer chicken or turkey chili in some of their dishes, but you can add it to most. And, at approx. $10 per dish, it is well worth it. Pros: Price, Service more

Not bad for vegetarian food 3/13/2004

I'm a meat-eater, but I was pleasantly suprised with the large menu and variety offered by the restaurant. The service was very attentive, and the patio is cute and cozy. However, all the drinks we ordered we served room temperature with no ice, even the smoothie. The food was pretty decent, but everything had a slight aftertaste, and it seemed like they tried to make up for the lack of fat with large amounts of salt. I highly recommend the blue corn nachos. Pros: Good ambience, great service, healthy food Cons: , food too salty more

You Must Go! 10/29/2003

I dined here with a friend when we visited from Chicago. The food, drinks and service were excellent. I will be sure to come here on my next visit. Pros: Food, Drinks, Service more

Nutritious food, but bland 8/1/2003

One of the most nutritious restaurant foods, but the food (I tried Enchilada) was bland. The menu says that one can request substitution of all ingredients of an item to suit a person's dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, etc). Between this restaurant and the neighboring East India Grill there is a pleasant garden seating area. Pros: Healthy food, Vegetarian & vegan Cons: Bland food more

Long-time customer . . . 9/24/2002

I have been a patron of this restaurant for the past 8 years and the food keeps getting better and better, as does the selection - Everything from vegan organic blue corn banana pancakes to spinach quesadillas - pasta and risotto dishes - wraps - tofu entrees - salads - soups - sandwiches and all kinds of burgers from vegan to turkey. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is always great. Try the blue corn nachos! Delicious! Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Large Menu more

Great food 8/21/2002

I've gone to Sante several times. The service is excellent. I really recomend the short stack Blue Corn w/Banana pancakes. The Tomato & Basil omelette is also excellent. It may sound as if I know the owners but I don't. The food is actually that good. Pros: Great food, Good prices, very healthy Cons: N/A, N/A, N/A more
