My wife and I have lived in Park Slope for three years and this is our favorite spot for dinner! This food is always first class and reasonably priced, the staff is warm and friend...

THE WORST CINCO DE MAYO EVER 5/7/2010

The manager of this restaurant is so rude, he's attempting to seat someone at your table faster than you can finish the last sip of your magarita! After paying too much for a tiny margarita in too packed restaurant, they hand you a check before you ask for it...even though you had every intent on paying for more drinks! \r The hustling of customers out of the door is so rude, I'll never step foot in to this REALLY AVERAGE restaurant again. And...they are in need of a good dusting! Pros: I got a seat. Cons: SUPER RUDE MANAGER...CLUELESS. more

Too, Too Bad! 9/7/2009

This used to be my regular spot until I moved. I still go here once in a while. The food is not as good as it once was--it's gotten to be whitebread bland. But it was still OK to stop in for a drink & chips. The staff was always somewhere between my buddies and professional & courteous. I went here on Labor Day and got yelled at by a loud-mouthed bartender--apparently drunk. All I did was ask why they didn't have a certain liquor they always used to carry. I am so sorry they have turned into a zoo and hire gorillas these days. Pros: Used to be a good place to go Cons: BAD service more

Good Drinks, Good Food 9/8/2008

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Park Slope. The servers are very friendly and helpful and they seat you very quickly. Just don't get there too late on a Friday or Saturday night as it can get fairly busy. The guacamole is excellent along with the quesadillas. You will also enjoy the black bean soup. Top it all off with a frozen drink. more

Had higher hopes... 2/19/2008

I really wanted to like this place. I had been here a while ago, at the bar, for drinks, and the place is very cute, great ambiance. The staff was very nice and the drinks were good. When we're in the mood for mexican, we usually go to Burrito Bar, on 7th and Flatbush. A fantastic restaurant. But we tried Santa Fe the other night, and unfortuately it paled in comparison. The staff was again very nice, we were immediately sat. Our waiter had a hard time distinguishing between light and regular beer though. The food was really just ok. Salsa wasn't very good. The enchiladas were also just ok, not much white meat chicken. Sauce a little bland. My BF also thought the chicken fajitas weren't great. Kind of greasy. I was dissappointed overall, expecially because it's such a nice looking place and the staff is very nice. But honestly, it just wasn't very good food. Pros: Ambiance/interior, friendly staff Cons: food more

This food is always first class and reasonably priced, the staff is warm and friendly and the margaritas are wonderful! We have brought so many people here and they always mention Santa Fe and the fantastic experience of the ambiance there! A truly magical neighborhood spot ! I always look forward to my saturday evening feasts...! Keep the ball rollin always guys.! U Rock. more

Great Bar-Good food. 10/12/2007

\r This is a very nice place. A nice place. The bar is great to hang out for a while. Even the few regulars are engaging. The food delivers as well. An all around wonderful place to spend an evening. more

Great food, great service, great price 6/30/2007

I can't say anything negative about this place. I love the food. Me and my boyfriend both try to try something new every time we go and every time it is amazing (especially for the price). We eat here at least once a week. We have always been seated towards the back and it can be a little romantic, even if the restaurant is packed. My favorite thing is that there is salsa on the table before you are even seated, so if you are starving, everything will be ok :). The servers are always very nice and we always get our food really quickly!! It's a great restaurant and obviously people know it because it's normally packed. Even if they are packed, we've never waited more than 10 minutes for a table (probably not even that long). Great food for the price! Pros: great, fresh food and friendly service Cons: n/a more

Nicest Restaurant in the Slope 12/28/2006

Cannot say enough good about this place. I and friends have been going their since day 1 about 20 years now! From the Owners to the Manager and all the Waitstaff and Bartenders I have never had a bad experience. The frozen drinks are always great and John(Bartender) does the best high test Tequilla shots!\r There is enough variety on the menu that friends who don't care for Mexican go for the Steak, their own Santa Fe salad or the chicken. Their avacado fries are sinful. This place is always goodt and I go probably 2-3 times a week. Great burgers too! Ask for a set up at the bar , chips and salsa are free. Pros: Good drinks, food and service more

YUM-O 10/28/2006

Great ambience, so good for dates. Try the fried avocado sticks - how do they do that! I went with my boyfriend and enjoyed it so thoroughly - upscale mexican food - Will definitely be back again and again. salsa was addictive too. Pros: fried avocado sticks Cons: too bright inside more

Great Neighborhood Mexican 10/14/2006

Santa Fe is a wonderful restaurant in the heart of Park Slope. With many of the dining destinations on 5th avenue in Park Slope, this place is a gem to have on 7th avenue. The staff is friendly and the food is good and inexpensive. The smoked chicken quesadilla and vegetable burritos are standouts, as well as a number of other burritos they have here. The chips and salsa are made fresh and are tasty, and for those not into Mexican fare, their burger is surprisingly good. The tequila selection at the bar is respectable, and the bartenders know how to sling good drinks. It can get crowded (especially at the bar which is a favorite with locals) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, but you can usually get a table without much wait at all. Also good for an off-the-beaten path brunch on the weekends. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

Great non-authentic mexican! 7/21/2006

I love this restaurant, its clean, service is fast and free chips and salsa! Food is delicious! One of my faves. more

Excellent Mexican Food! 5/8/2006

This is my first time eating there and as a first time let me tell you that the food was excellent and very affordable. The service was great. Once you enter it has wall doors that are able to open so during the summer the nice air from outside comes inside the restaurant. It is very relaxing and I would return to this restaurant because it is great! more

A great, reliable restaurant 9/14/2005

I have had nothing but good experiences at the Santa Fe Grill. It isn't overly fancy, but it's pleasant and comfy. The food is good and very reasonably priced (I usually get the specials, which have all been wonderful), the service is friendly and helpful but not overbearing, and the margaritas (super hi-test!) are good enough to please even my tequila-snob friends. Nine times out of ten, when I want dinner in the Slope, this place is it. Pros: Inexpensive, Relaxed, Good food more

Good Food, good price, Nice! 8/18/2005

Never had a bad meal, they have really really good frozen drinks too!!! more

my absolute favorite 7/6/2004

i have been visiting santa fe for at least 5 years now and I can't possibly say enough about what a great place this is...the food, the service, the atmosphere..even the parties that they throw are amazingly fun. It is by far my favorite place to eat, and I try to bring a new friend with me every time I go. Pros: the food!, the staff!, the atmosphere! more

Great Summer Ambience 5/22/2004

I agree withth e above reviews--particularly nice in the summer with the ""wall-doors"" open onto the street--right in the heart of Park Slope on 7th Ave and Lincoln Place and a 5-minute walk to gorgeous Prospect Park. I like the combination fajitahs--w/steak, chicken, and shrimp...They were also nice enough to let me bring my own fat-free sour cream to the table---I know, I know--why bother if you're not gonna eat the fat-full stuff....Great frozen margaritas; the place has been in existence nearly 20 years now (I think) Pros: Location, Ambience, Frozen Drinks more

Good drinks, ok grub 2/7/2004

Depending on what you order, the food is anywhere from just ok to very good. But, as another user points out, the drinks usually make up for the difference. Good daquiris and margaritas! Pros: Drinks, Location? Cons: , not cheap for mex. more

Average Food, Good Drinks 11/1/2002

A great place to catch a margatira, especially in the summer when it's more like a sidewalk cafe. The food is okay, nothing to shout about, especially given the other options for Mexican in the vicinity. Wait service is hit and miss, but the bar os pretty good on a regular basis. Pros: Good drinks more

Best steak fajita 8/9/2002

A cute place, good service, great food. Recomendations are: steak fajita( medium), bocades especiales and Sangria with extra cherries:) it worth to try! Enjoy Pros: great great food Cons: too long waiting line, no reservations more
