SFMOMA 6/13/2006

First, SFMOMA has a great location, close to Metron, shopping, food and bars. It's very easy to get taxi! I've been to this place several times. It's a great place to visit if you never been there. There's a store, cafe and a theater on the first floor. There is a gallery host exhibitions on the second floor. You should check out their website at www.sfmoma.org for events. Don't forget to take advantage on the free first-of-the-month Tuesday! Unfortunately, the museum closed every Wednesday. more

I LOVE going to the opening and closing parties here, or whenever they do special events. They hire Djs and have drinks, and you get to dance and check out the Art in a funky niteclub scene. The fashionableness is over the top at these shindigs, but whereas that usually annoys me, here I can totally get into it. The overpriced clothes compliment the overvalued art perfectly. And I swear, my, uh, "shabby chic" thift fashion looks almost like designer clothes in the strobby light. One time they had a whole room of classic video game systems set up… not just Ataris, but all sorts of now-defunct consoles with bizarre interfaces that I'd never even heard of growing up. Tons of fun… more

Exceptional exhibits 10/14/2005

Located in the downtown area, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is one of the great features of San Francisco. Developed as a non profit, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is still quite trendy, and offers a monthly free admissions day so you can see for yourself. It seems to offer more then the Asian Art Museum, and seems to be more geared toward those in there early 20's. Parking is non existent, but it's just a couple blocks from a walk from Bart. more

SFMOA 10/13/2005

This is one of the nicer museums in San Francisco. It is very well organized so when you walk through, you do not feel like you are missing out on anything. And the artwork is absolutely beautiful. If you like modern arts and new and trendy ideas, then this is the place to visit. The only real downfall is that parking is very hard to find. But overall, and exceptional place to visit. more

SFMOMA 9/27/2005

Beautiful Beautiful museum with alot of culture and history. This is a perfect place to take your childrn to learn about art. Everything is so organized and beautiful. the downfall here is that parking is horrible. It took me at least thirty minutes to find a spot. But it is well worth it at this museum. more

Modern art appreciation 8/21/2005

The SF Museum of Modern Art is a neat place to visit. Although I am definitely not a student of modern art, the museum is organized and collected in such a way that a normal person can appreciate the exhibits on display. The museum is well-lighted and easy to navigate – good place to just check out. more

Outstanding, accesible modern art museum 8/21/2005

SF Moma is one of the top museums in the country, if not the world, for good reason. They always have interesting and engaging exhibits. What I like most about the museum, however, is that it's very accessible. While there is plenty to see, you can pick and choose what to explore. The cafe is fine, albeit a bit pricey and don't forget to check out the great store. more

SFMOMA 8/16/2005

The SFMOMA, or San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has all kids of interesting, mostly weird (to me at least) paintings, photos, sculptures, even video-based art pieces. I went there a few years ago for my high school art class. All kinds of events take place here, like exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, etc. I personally don't have an eye for what's good art and what's not, but modern art is still visually stimulating nonetheless. My favorite exhibits are the Frank Lloyd Wright pieces, because I'm an architectural enthusiast. more

Certainly Modern 8/15/2005

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is an architectural and cultural landmark that has the heart and character of the city by the bay. With every type of art from photographs to installation pieces, you are sure to be surprised, shocked, and touched by at least one piece in the spacious galleries. more

Feed your brain 8/14/2005

I think modern art is a bit hit-or-miss, but San Francisco’s MOMA is definitely a home run. The museum showcases a wide range of artists, so hopefully you can find something that you enjoy. They also offer guided tours, so you can learn more about the artwork you like (or maybe change your mind about the ones you don’t). more

SFMOMA 8/13/2005

This museum is located across the street from Yerba Buena and is a few blocks away from the BART Powell Street station. It is a very nice museum with beautiful works of art some of which are by local artists. I was not one for modern art really but I was talked into going by my wife and I kind of enjoyed myself. more

Get cultured 8/13/2005

Although I don't usually enjoy modern art as much as the more traditional variety, I had fun exploring this museum after a traveling exhibit there featured Ansel Adam's photography. Not only was that presentation itself well done, but the rest of the museum was very clean, organized, and full of interesting displays. A fun place to spend an afternoon. more

sfmoma 8/9/2005

sf moma is a great museum of modern art. they have a wide range of styles and mediums of art, perfect for even the largest groups. kids will enjoy it too with the huge variety they have. the cafe is also a nice place to get a quick bite to eat or just rest and take a break. the museum is fairly large so be ready to dedicate a good half day to it if you want to see the whole thing. more

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art 8/9/2005

This place is so awesome! They have lots of cool exhibits and different interesting and new showcases all the time. It is easily accessible by bus transportation because it is located near downtown on 3rd street. If you pass by the museum, you can always see long lines of both tourists and locals who love to check out this place and you should too! more

SF MoMA brings the best to the Bay Area 8/8/2005

SF MoMA has been the greatest art museum in the bay area for over a decade. I ove the new art exhibits every few months. the docents are knowledgeable and make the art work more meaning ful. The store out front is fun to go to as well. more

SF MOMA is a good afternoon 8/7/2005

I have been to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SF MOMA) several time now. I do enjoy going, but it can get a bit repetative at times. The rotating exibit on the top floor is usually very interesting, but their regular collection can be updated somewhat. It is a good afternoon treat to visit this place and wonder around, but you can only realy do it once. Everytime after the first time is somewhat boring. more

San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art 7/18/2005

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is one of my favorite museums. It has so many paintings! I could spend hours and hours gazing at all of them, trying to interpret what the artist's message was. The museum is nice and clean and can get kind of crowded on the weekdays. The tickets aren't very expensive, which is nice. more

A Fancy Museum 7/16/2005

I went to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on one of the free days. I really liked how the museum looks and how it’s interior is fancy. I enjoyed all of the exhibits very much. I never knew that art could be so entertaining. I also loved the gift shop. more
