GREATEST BBQ EVER 9/19/2011

We have a company of about 40 men, all of which have got to be the worlds most pickiest eaters EVER. We have had some great months of business and for that we have put together lunch feasts once a month. We ordered from Sammy's the very first month which was back in June, and already the guys have asked every month are we going to have Sammy's again. Not only was the staff (Marshall) helpful and considerate, the food was just the greatest ever. There must be somthing about that Baked Potatoe Casserole that keeps ya coming back for more :). Needless to say, I have told everyone I know about this place. Really should consider a facebook page, Lord knows I would be a fan.... more

Professional Barbecue 5/14/2009

I took some friends and associates for lunch and found the food to be top notch, professionally prepared with great care and consideration. I found the links to be especially tantalizing, as well as the pulled pork. The only side I sampled were the beans, and they were stupendous. I did not sample the desserts. I did have a chance to speak with the pit master and the owner and found the entire experience very fulfilling. Cannot wait to get back to Dallas. Pros: Great Professionally Prepared Authentic Cuisine more

The servings are on the light side, but the sauce is too thin and runny.... it gets into everything on your plate. Cons: Sauce is too runny, servings too light more

Great local lunch spot 9/30/2006

We tried this local joint after reading about it on City Search and it was well worth it! The place was packed with locals, but we ordered and found an empty table very quickly. They offer over 10 meats. We tried the chopped beef sandwich and it was delicious! They have a wide range of tempting side dishes and many homeade desserts to choose from. Make this stop while your in Dallas. Pros: Homecooked BBQ, Great food Cons: Crowded more

Sammys BBQ has to be one of- if not the best BBQ restaurant. You can go time and again and not get stuck in a ""rut"". The entrees are always select, the side dishes are extraordinary and the desserts can't be beat. Good service, good food------ almost heaven. Great place to go for a relaxed crowd and good food. I went there and had the chopped beef sandwich with onion rings. It was delicious. They even had warm bbq sauce at the table to add to your food if you like. The people were friendly and the service was quick. Just when I thought this place could not get any better , the bathrooms were even clean and smelled nice. What more could you ask for!!!! Pros: clean bathrooms, great service, plenty of parking more

Best BBQ in town! 3/14/2005

This place is always packed, and you can see why. It's location is ideal for anyone who works or lives downtown. The BBQ is melt-in-your-mouth, the best you'll find anywhere! They are reasonably priced, super fast and parking is no problem. more

My, oh my... 5/15/2002

Dang, if this isn't the BEST bbq I've ever had in my life. Used to work down on McKinney Ave., and my coworkers and I would always stop down, get a big plate of meat, side of okra and the cheesy potato stuff they make, and chow down on the outdoor patio. Friendly staff; I think it's family-owned. Pros: great 'cue!, friendly staff, awesome patio more
