The Samaritan Breast Center offers complete services for breast health. Our staff works closely with the staff at the Samaritan Cancer Center & the staff at Samaritan North Surgery Center. All 3 centers are in the same building, providing convenient scheduling & continuity of care for patients.
The Samaritan Breast Center imaging services include digital mammography, breast-specific MRI, PET/CT scans, & ultrasound exams. Board-certified, skilled radiologists interpret the images. The images are then stored in a system where multiple physicians or technologists in different locations can review the documents at the same time.
Women over 40 with no symptoms can schedule a screening mammogram without a physician?s order. All other mammograms require a physician?s order. If the results are suspicious or abnormal, Samaritan Breast Center staff members guide the patient through the process of diagnosis & treatment available at the Samaritan Cancer Center & Outpatient Surgery Center.
Our physicians, nurses, & technologists are dedicated & certified. Screening & diagnostic mammograms are interpreted by board-certified radiologists who have years of experience interpreting mammography & ultrasound examinations of the breast. Radiologists use a computer-aided detection device to increase the sensitivity of detecting early-stage breast cancer.
Our radiologists & a dedicated breast surgeon work with the Samaritan Breast Center, communicating closely regarding patient care issues.

Advanced Technology
Digital imaging allows us to provide advanced diagnosis. We use computer-aided detection technology to scan the images & mark any suspicious-looking areas. These areas are then studied by the radiologist, who determines if further evaluation is needed. The R2 Imagechecker increases the accuracy of early-stage cancer diagnosis to 98%.
Digital Mammography
One of the most recent advances in x-ray mammography is digital mammography. It uses essentially the same mammography system as conventional mammography, but is equipped with a digital receptor & a computer.
