i really miss this place 3/16/2006

Sam Woo is like the Cheers Bar for me...My family and I have been going there since I could remember and all of the waitresses and staff know us...They have the best authentic Chinese food...I think they're second only to my parents...On weekend lunch, they are packed by 10:30AM, but it's well worth the wait. You really need to try their Roast Duck. Oh man...so good...They dishes are an extremely good deal. My parents and I can eat there for $20 total after tax and tip and still have left overs. I love this place and I miss it so much. more

for a little hole in the wall, it sure is tasty... there is always a line waiting... they are quick tho... so if you have to wait, it won't be for long. they do a lot of take outs... it's easy, it's convenient and fast.... we like to stop by, pick up take out and go home and relax... it is conveniently located... and parking is usually easy... lots of street parking and lots of lots around... but it is a little divey, don't expect anything glamorous or even remotely close... more

Famed Chinese barbeque... 9/1/2005

This restaurant would be a vegetarian's nightmare - there are carcasses of ducks, sausages, and what looks like pig skins dangling off racks. This would be typical for the butcher/restaurants here, I suppose. Of course, it's not really much of a nightmare for me - this place serves great Chinese BBQ. It's relatively famed for this, and with good reason - food is great, and at a very affordable price. Again, this is widely-known by locals as a place for a quick serving of Chinese food. It is extremely small and cramped, and dirty - then again, locals are used to it, and it is kind of expected in this types of butcher-restaurant hybrid places. more

wonton noodle soup 8/5/2005

this is a hole in the wall that serves good old fashioned noodle soups for great prices. you can get wonton noodle soup and share a table with your neighbor all for under $5.00 a bowl. they also have hanging roasted ducks and pork in the front. it looks funny, but it tastes good. more
