Food is good, but nothing outstanding. Location is OK, moderately priced.

Average steaks, average service 12/27/2007

We tried, we tried so hard to get a hot cup of coffee with our meal. It just wouldn't come. 2 attempts at a refill, both were lukewarm. Sigh. Pros: Decent prices, decent steak. Cons: Sometimes lukewarm service more

Treated us right for a change 6/9/2006

Went here the other night for steaks near closing time. The staff was very friendly and ready to treat us right. Me and my buddy enjoyed our steaks and everything else on the menu . The waiter was super cool named Memphis ""What a cool name"" and he treated us right. I really enjoyed everything. The last couple times I went my buddy would get a really fatty steak that was gross but I will be coming back in the future. I don't really like the steaks at outback anyway. Pros: Delicious steaks Cons: Best to go at less busy times more

Do not eat the steak 4/5/2003

Probably having dined there 5 times, i will only go when a friend wants to have the range rattlers. I have NEVER had a good steak there. I have always had to cut around or remove from my muth pices of sinewy gristle. If I go back(and its been over two years) I will eat their appt. only. PD CFS is good though. more

after a great salad it was all downhill. steak was tasteless. so bad we would not go back even with a $10 savings coupon. NOt even for free. Now that is bad! The servers were young and dumb. We got the impression if you were a mental catagory 4, you would fit in well here. Pros: ambience, salad, location Cons: steaks are tasteless, service sucks more

Salt Grass is one of my favorite places for steaks. The quality of the food always meets my expectations. The service, on the other hand, is always blase at best! I have complained on several occassions about the wait staff, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. I would probably go there more often if service were better more

Eat the saltgrass.. it tastes better. 1/13/2003

Although posessing a good reputation, the food at the Saltgrass Steak House in Webster Texas left much to be desired. On the chance that perhaps I had ventured in on the off day of the best Chef, my wife and I went back a total of three times. The food lacked flavor and presentation. The meat (and we did not order the cheapest on the menu by any means) was overly tough and tasteless. Most likely will not return to this establishment, nor recommend to friends or family. Try Salt Grass if Taste of Texas Wait 1/12/2003

We went to Taste of Texas on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon, early at 6pm and after driving around the parking lot for several minutes found the wait to be two hours. We drove down the Katy Fwy to Salt Grass and were seated immediately. The Angus steaks were excellent. I have eaten at T of Tx many times and the steaks are no better than Salt Grass. It is a smaller restaurant. It is decorated ala Hill Country chic. The prices are comparable. There was a full crowd in the lobby when we left, so get there early. Saltgrass hast the best steaks in Houston that I have tasted. Their prices are reasonable and it is a great family resturant. Pros: Best filet, Wonderful onion rings, other great menu item more

The best ribeye steak at any restaurant I have eaten at. The service is always above expectations. You cannot mis the cheesecake there is none anywhere that is better!! Pros: call ahead seating, great quality, made from scratch more

Saltgrass's steaks are unpredictable - you never know if you are going to get tough or tasty. when it's good, it's great, but unfortunately my experience has more often been ""tough and overcooked"". Try Primetime Steakhouse - now that's good steak! more
