Massage was not good-quite frankly I doubt the person had any training at all. Upgrade requests upon arrival-not worth the cost. Save your money and go to a real licensed therapist. more

Nice Salon ! Expert Hair Care ! Sorry Sammi - you're way off . . . Like in the last century. ""Hairdressers"" is a term from the 1950's, and your condescending comment about 'their issues' is a reflection of . . . you ! Give Kathleen a call for an expert analysis - and get outta the last century ! more

I've went from Expensive Salon to Expensive Salon and no one could seem to understand me the way Kathy did. I walked into Salon West with a colored mess and dead hair that I had paid top dollar for. The first day I meet with the owner, Kathy, she treated me as if I was her own family. We talked until she understood exactly what I wanted and then went to work. I was very please with my color and cut, my hair was FINALLY exactly the way I wanted it. Kcalver if you wanted a $5 haircut then go to cost cutters. If you want friendly service, and your hair done right Kathy is the person to trust. I believe she is very competitive with her competitions pricing. I love Kathy and Isabella her pup. Isabella is the sweetest thing, very calm and obviously knows her place in the salon. If you don't appreciate dogs just let Kathy know, the dog doesn't have to be there for your appointment. Kathy brings her because she is loved by so many. I wouldn't trust anyone else. more

Fantastic Spa- Not sure why the negative review by sammijo 1/29/2010

I don't understand sammijo's review at all- I loved this place! Yes, you walk down a hallway to get to the spa, simply because it's in a building with other businesses! It's not a standalone spa, so it shares a building with other offices/businesses. Not a big deal to me at all. And the dog wasn't there when I went for my treatment, but it was there the day I made the appointment. It was very sweet and actually stayed behind the desk until I crouched down to pet it- then it came to me. It was very calm. I guess if you hate animals, then yes, it's a drawback for the dog to simply be in the same room. But if you're indifferent or like them, then it's kind of cool to see the dog there (who Kathleen told me is a therapy dog, by the way).\r \r My husband and I went to Salon West last night, where I got a facial and a massage, and he got a massage. First off, Kathleen was SO helpful with the information she gave me about my skin during the facial. She really took the time to spell out in detail how I could help my skin. It was obvious that she wasn't just feeding me the same information she gives everyone, and she gave me tips that were helpful given my low budget. She truly cares about her craft, and she obviously is invested in making her customers happy. I went in with a cold, and she specialized the type of essential oils being used, and by the end, I could breathe again! I've had other facials, but this one was the best by far.\r \r As far as the massages go, they were really good too. The massage therapist checked in several times to make sure the pressure was right, I was warm enough, I was comfortable, etc. She also worked on my sinuses because of my cold. She asked me ahead of time about what was bothering me, where she should focus, what areas to target, etc. She was really good.\r \r I would definitely return to Salon West. I had some scheduling issues (and a gift certificate that was about to expire), and Kathleen was very accommodating and told me not to worry about the expiration date, that the spa experience is not supposed to be stressful, etc. She was so helpful and was very prompt in returning phone calls. I highly recommend this spa, at least for the facials and massages! Pros: Flexible scheduling, knowledgeable staff more

Salon West is like my second home 1/21/2009

I've been a client of Salon West & Body Works Spa for more than 30 years. After all this time, I'm proud to say I consider the owner and staff my friends. I trust them with my hair cut and color and I am rarely disappointed. Some cuts I've liked better than others, but that's normal. I rarely have the same identical cut. I like the creativity in altering my style slightly or tweaking my brunette hair with chestnut, red or carmel highlights. The salon has a policy that if you return within a limited time, they will trim your neckline. i forget the time frame, but ask the owner. For me, finding a salon that I trust and feel at home in is as important to me as the services they deliver. The owner is my stylist. She has always taken the time to consider my hair texture, my lifestyle, my face shape, my age, my profession, all to make me look as good as possible. When i have travelled on business, I have received frequent compliments on my style. That makes me feel just great, especially when I have been in larger, more cosmopolitan cities!\r \r I love the massages there. The massage therapist is smart, caring and very attentive to making her clients feel better when they leave. it's hard to get off the table and go home, I just want to go to sleep. \r \r Manicures, pedicures, facials and some of the newer techniques like the eyebrow treatments and some of the other spa programs all deliver. Like any service industry, relationships build over time. I've had a great relationship with this salon and plan to continue. \r \r Pros: Great cuts and color, highly skilled Cons: Ok, the hallway is long... more

Are you kidding me 12/8/2008

I went to Salon West and had a great experience. I agree the long hallway is not the best but not a big deal. When I walked in, yes there was a little dog, but she was not a pest. She smelled my shoe and walked away. I told the girl that I wanted an all over color with like 10 hilites. She told me how much everything was going to cost before she even went to mix my color. I'm not sure if the other two reviewers have ever been in a salon before. The layout was chair to chair like most salons and it wasn't dark at all. The wall was all windows. It wasn't the most breath taking place, but the people were real, no snobs like the other Brookfield salons. Pros: NO SNOBS Cons: The hallway more

Poor excuse for a SPA 3/21/2008

KMS is being too kind. Impressions are as follows.\r Park in back of building. Walk in back door - long dark hall. Enter to be greeted by a dog that jumps in your lap. Dark and dingy. Hair salon chairs are old, worn and 3 feet from each other. You can hear everything, and who wants to listen to the hairdressers issues.\r Spa is nothing one would envision a spa to be. \r Overpriced, poor excuse for a spa. \r With the vast array of spa's in the area STEER CLEAR OF THIS ONE. Pros: None that I can think of Cons: Dark, dingy and overpriced more

Ask for up front pricing in writing! 3/13/2008

There are too many legitimate places around to bother with a place like this.\r The salon is old and worn. Not very inviting. I had a gift certificate, which is the only reason I went here.\r I went in for style and highlights. I have short hair with color. I was very open to the cut. Since my hair is already short, I just needed a style. It turned out ok. \r I was very specific about highlights. I didn't want too much. My hair is fine and too much highlight makes me look blonde. She said she would do a partial foil. She did a full foil even though I made it clear several times that I did not want too many highlights. \r I am now a blonde and I as charged $95 for that feature. I was charged an additional $45 for the cut. \r When I talked to the manager, she offered to put conditioning color back in. I don't want more color, I want some of my money back, she told me that she charges even more than that and I got a good price! \r Nowhere on the website or brochure did I see higher prices. I was charged the highest posted prices for something I didn't even want! She refused to refund any money. Pros: The girl who did my hair was very nice...young and a little immature, but very nice Cons: Over-priced. Did not give me what i asked for. Atmosphere is not invitine more
