Salon Divas

Hello everyone, I am guessing the above 10 people are either employees or friends thereof... Let me tell you my story regarding Salon Divas. I decided to try this place out, given it is in the building where i recently moved in. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon. There was only one person there, in the back taking care of a customer. Three other ladies were already in line, so i decided to wait... No one came to greet or ask about an appointment, etc.. nothing... 20min later, another one of the people who works there arrived, completely ignoring everyone hid on the back somewhere. Eventually the three ladies were taken care of, and supposedly it was my turn, seeing no-one else was available. Throughout the time (about an hour and a half I tried to get the attention of one of the two ladies.. but in vain).. Finally I thought it would be my turn, alas.. the lady that got freed up decided to make a phone call, probably more important than talking to her customer.. that took some time, and so another one of her friends walked in.. they went on the back.. During the 1.5hrs no one even bothered to pay any attention or even greet me or even make an eye contact. What place that prides itself on ""friendliness"" and customer service does that? Needless to say, I will not be ""trying"" this place again, and will opt for one of the many other fine salons in Seattle that actually enjoy seeing a new customer's face in their shops. What separates Salon Divas from all the rest is their style, professionalism and talent. There are three owners, Lisa, Dori and Jenny. I see Lisa to do my hair. She knows what it takes to treat a customer right. I am very impressed by her skill as well as all of the others I have observed in the salon. So if anyone is hoping to have a great experience and love their hair, ask for Lisa. Pros: Easy to park more

Hilary Schmidt and Nikki - their new waxer - are fabulous. Would completely recommend. I previously had gone to Red and Marco's and both Hilary and Nikki are much better than any waxer or stylist at either salon. Each time I sit in Marquetta Riley's chair I'm praying it is not a dream. To find a stylist as fabulous as she is rare. I make the drive each and every week 40 miles north...to have her work her magic. If you have ever been envious of that girl with amazing hair..look no further then into the hands of M.Riley. You'd have to be crazy not too. As a woman of color it is difficult to find someone who understands the importance of body and style, but not at the expense of root to tip health. I am a very satisfied customer of Marquetta Riley with Salon Divas. about 6 months ago I had a ""hair emergency"". a friend of mine recommended Marquetta and I did not hesitate to make an appointment as my friend's hair is always flawless. I was so distraught when I called that Marquetta said ""you know what, come in tomorrow at 7am, I'll open up early for you"". that was so kind. well, when I arrived, she was there, ready w/ coffee in hand and a smile on her face. I was so embarrassed but she made no judgment. she put me at ease and remained completely professional and confident as she transformed my dry dull hair to ""silky, shiny, and happily hydrated"". I have been going to her ever since. she's priced very fairly and I always leave feeling completely satisfied. She is always upbeat and genuinely loves her job! The staff is very kind too. They are always busy whenever I arrive for my appointment. You can tell that Salon Divas is a ""hot spot"" but not in a pretentious way, never crowded or rushed, just vibrant and passionate about fab service/work. a smooth operation with lots of talent. i even take my 4 year old there for cuts. she too is a satisfied customer. see Marquetta. :) more

Hilary Schmidt is the BEST! I have had Hilary do my hair for almost 2 years now, and every time has been such a fun experience! She is professional and really good at listening to what I want and creating positive results. I have recommended Hilary to lots of my friends and they have all been really happy as well. She is super funny and has me cracking up during the whole process. She's amazing at color -and a true artist when it comes to creating a new shape for your locks. You should go see her...and get rets' to be gorgeous! Pros: Fun atmosphere...great group of co workers! Cons: parking can be tricky...so I walk down there. more

I've been a client of Marquetta Riley for about 4 years now. WHO is that nut case who wrote those absolutely untrue comments about her?? Marquetta is absolutely the best hair dresser I've ever been blessed to find ~ and in saying this don't intend on going to any one else. Not only is she a master at her profession, but she is argueably the most humble & gracioius person I know. In the 4 years I've been with her I've Never heard her speak disparingly of anyone, and she probably has clients who drive her nuts. She is highly professional and absolutely the best!! I have 2 homes and during the summer I'm not in Seattle - but will come back for my hair appointments as I wouldn't trust anyone else working with my hair. She's a treasure and actually so appreciate her that I've recommended her to everyone I love. Even my daughter-in-law who lives in San Francisco has come up to Seattle to see her. She came up to Marquetta right before her wedding, as she wanted her hair just right. This speaks volumes of her talent & most importantly of her person. Any one who goes to Marquetta should consider themselves Lucky ~ I know I do. Pros: Marquetta works there! Cons: Slightly crazy 'street people' walking around more

WELL, WELL, WELL, IN REGARDS TO THE LAST REVIEW I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IT IS AN OUTRAGE THAT SOMEONE WOULD LITERALLY SAY SUCH TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME CLIENT OF MARQUETTA'S AND A LOT OF MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS SEE HER AS WELL, SOME AS LONG AS I HAVE. IN THOSE MANY YEARS OF SEEING HER I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD HER TALK ABOUT CLIENTS IN A NEGATIVE WAY, OR MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE WHILE UNDER THE DRYER... AND AS FOR ME BEING A BLONDE AND SOME OF MY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES ARE BLONDES, SHE DOESN'T CHARGE ANYWHERE NEAR $300 FOR A SERVICE IF SHE KNOWS THE CLIENTS ARE NOT SATISFIED, PLUS SHE WOULD DO WHATEVER IT TOOK TO MAKE SURE I WAS HAPPY WITH MY HAIR. JUST FOR HIGHLIGHTING OR COLORING BLONDES IN THE FIRST PLACE I AND EVERYONE ELSE I KNOW WAS NEVER CHARGED NEARLY $300... Pros: MARQUETTA IS THE GREATEST!!! more
