Wendy is awesome! 8/25/2006

I finally went today to get my hair done by someone other than my aunt who has been doing my hair for years. I am a very big chicken when it comes to my hair and have had just plain blonde highlights in my hair for 10 plus years. Needless to say I was very scared about having my hair done by someone new especially wanting to go back to my natural hair color and wanting to have a totally new hair cut. I found Salon 54 on city search and with all the great reviews I decided to try it out. I got an appointment with Wendy the day after I called to schedule an appointment. I had to have corrective color done to get my hair back to its natural color and Wendy was great she got my color perfect and I guess that comes from years of experiance and an eye for color. I didn't really know what kind of cut I wanted other than wanting side swept bangs and lots of layers while keeping the length of my hair as it was. I gave her complete control and it came out great. I was so pleased with the work she did which made for a great first experiance with a new hair stylist. I will definatly be going back to Wendy for my future cuts and color!!! I highly recomend Wendy to anyone looking for a new cut and or color. So sweet and comforting!!! Perfect Perfect!! I am so excited with my new look!!! more

Best Hair Extensions 8/17/2006

Joey at Salon 54 literally changed my life. In June of 2005, I accidentally caught my hair on fire blowing out a candle. To say the least, it was a complete disaster, I actually had to walk around with hair that looked just like Billy Ray Cyrus, when I was accustomed to naturally curly, half way down my back hair that people complimented me on often. After my "correction" hair cut at another salon, I felt hopeless. That was until I scheduled an appointment with Joey to discuss possible hair extensions. He was nothing short of fantastic and scheduled me at the last minute to come in. I have had them in since February and my hair is finally starting to get back to it's old self. He and Wendy both are excellent in hair and in making a difference in lives. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Salon 54 and will continue to go back for as long as I am in the triangle area. more

totally outraged 5/11/2006

I was charged $150.00 for a highlight and was not told beforehand. It was a good job, but no better than the $90.00 I am used to paying. Totally dissatified. Would never go back. When I called the owner all I got was confrontation. more

The prices are good, but the skill is average to below average. I went twice for color and was coaching the stylist on how to color my hair. She still could not get it right. more

It was the best experience i have ever had! i feel so different and happy! i have had curly thick course hair nd with out the help of joeyz "magical hand" i would never have such beautiful hair as i do now!! im very happy with mah outcomes nd i will recommend this place to any who want dere hair to be straight!!! Very Pleased 2/12/2006

I went to Joey after reading all the reviews at CitySearch regarding Thermal Reconditioning. I had coarse, big, frizzy hair that had excellent body but took an hour of drying then rollers and as soon as I ventured near moisture it would turn into a Q-tip. The service I recieved from Joey was excellent; he made me feel comfortable and he was extremely fast. I came home with smooth, silky, glossy hair like the hair I had as a child. I like it even more a week later because I've learned to work with the new texture. I barely blow dry now and with a few flips of a curling iron I can get smooth curls like in the pantene comercials. It's really like a miracle. I don't feel like my hair looks over processed and fried anymore. I'm defintiely going back for more services. more

Innovative 2/3/2006

After having the same essential hairstyle for about 25 years, I went to Joey after reading his reviews in Citysearch. He did what no one else ever did, even in Dallas! He said I should change my look and asked me to let him try something. WOW!!! I never even knew I had natural wave. I love my style. He even slightly changed my color and made it lood so much better. I just recently went back to Salon 54 for my SIXTH haircut and highlighting with Joey. The cut was as fabulous as the FIRST haircut. My first haircut was a new style for me and Joey was very informative about what he wanted to do. It was absolutely wonderful!! He showed me how to style it as he went. And I actually did it, the next day. This sixth hair cut was as accurate as the first. He actually asked how many weeks it had been since my last cut, so that he would know how much to trim. Joey is a very humorous man!! You will have fun and not be bored with silence, when he cuts your hair!! I also must mention the highlights that I got. They were excellently done as well. Joy is awesome!! 11/2/2005

I just went to Studio 54 for the first time tonight and I could not be more pleased. I have been searching for a new hair stylist for several months now and just happened to get Joy. I have to say this is the best hair cut I have ever had. My husband was so excited when I walked in the door. He said I look like a whole new person. Joy is very professional and a perfectionist. 1st experience at Salon 54 10/20/2005

I found Joey and Salon 54 while doing searches for the Thermal Reconditioing process. After a few months of research (and talking my husband in to it!) I went in yesterday to have it done. Joey was absolutely fantastic! My hair is now the hair I have always dreamed of having. My hair was wavy/curly/frizzy and after 3.5 hours of Joey's magic, it is absolutely straight, shiny, and frizz-free. I LOVE it (and my husband agrees it was worth every penny)! I would highly recommend Salon 54 to anyone. In addition to Joey, there are several other stylists. It was amazing to me how much time each of them took with their clients. So many times you feel rushed at a salon - not here! They were really taking the time to make sure everyone walked out of there 100% satisfied. Thanks Joey! more

And I still can't say enough about this procedure. I love it....it's such a convenience for me. The drive isn't the greatest, but it gives me an excuse to hit up the malls for some clothes which is always a plus! I'll continue doing TR for as long as possible. "Great Job" on hair straighting 8/13/2005

If you are like me and have endured years of unruly, curly, frizzy hair.....Go see Joey for Thermal Reconstructing. Joey does know what hes doing, he works at a great pace, and gets the CORRECT job done. I have thin curly hair and the process Salon54 uses makes my hair straight, shiny and healthy to the touch. With all the heat and humidty me hair dosent "do what it wants" anymore, it is neater and I feel more confident. Joey has been in the hair business for years and it shows, with his up to date haircuts, edcuation about color and mostly his choice and skill for hair straighting. Thermal Reconditioning is UNBELIEVABLY INCREDIBLE 6/2/2005

I got TR & cut 5/7 from Joey, I felt simply INCREDIBLE! I had something done 1 year ago to straighten my hair. Well it straighted it alright, it looked like wire. Joey is amazing and wonderful and I felt comfortable with him. Before the procedure was done, my natural hair was coarse, had kinky curls and extremely hard to manage, not to mention it took an 2 hours to style. When Joey styled my hair he was done less than 10 minutes to dry and style it and looked magnificent! I now wash, dry and style in less than 30 minutes and my husband loves it. My hair is so silky straight and shining, never thought that it could be so easy. I highly recommend this to anyone with curly, difficult hair the price is 100% worth it! I found Studio 54 online and I am so glad I did. Joey worked a miracle on my hair. I had an awful color on it. He completely fixed my hair. Belinda is the best stylist I have EVER been to 4/18/2005

I went into Salon 54 to get hair extensions put in. I had VERY short hair and Belinda did an AWESOME job with it. They blend so well unless you knew me from before you would have no idea that they are extensions. She was sweet as she could be and very gentle. I drove all the way from High Point to have her do my hair and it was definatly worth the drive. I would highly recommend Belinda to anyone wanting to get the hair fusion service. Joey saves the day! 4/14/2005

I just moved from California to the Raleigh area a couple of months ago not knowing a soul. I got brave and went to a Cary salon for the Japanese Hair Straightening. I ended up with some areas that were frizzy and some areas of my hair that were straight. It looked dry and damaged. She recommended that I come in and repeat the process. I found Joey's website and gave him a call for his opinion. He said do not let her repeat the process! I decided to see Joey, he fit me in that day. He saved the day! He gave me a very cute trendy hair cut and managed to save the length! The cut works with the straight and waviness to my hair and he managed to get it looking healthy again. Salon 54 Rocks!! 4/6/2005

Salon 54 is absolutely wonderful! I have been going there for almost a year now and have never been so committed to just one stylist/salon. Joey is not only a master at what he does but a very, very funny & friendly person! He makes spending 5 hours at the salon feel like only 30 minutes! I've gotten my hair colored, high-lighted, cut, and thermal reconditioned (twice now) and couldn't be more pleased. With Joey's help, my hair has also become "healthy" again (as opposed to it being extremely fried/dull). Belinda is also a doll and helped Joey out today with my thermal reconditioning touch-up. I can hardly wait for their new location (off Durant Road) to open next month. I highly recommend Salon 54 (Joey & Belinda) to anyone that wants a BIG change or just an excellent stylist! :) Pros: Experienced Stylists, Excellent Prices, Very Quick Appt. Time Cons: None! more

FABULOUS! 3/19/2005

I researched Salon 54 on Citysearch because I was desperate to do something about my fried, over-processed bleached blonde/orange tinged hair. After reading the fantastic reviews I came in from Greenville, NC a few days after making an appointment. I have never been so pleased! The color and the cut that I recieved from Belinda are amazing, Joey is so nice and helpful and I just couldn't get over how great my hair looked! I'd recommend Salon 54 to anyone (my mother is making an appointment too!). more

Once a salon skeptic...now a believer 2/23/2005

My hair had been the same style since I was 5 (I am now 27). I didn't know how I wanted it to look, or even what would look good on me, but I knew I wanted a change quick. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. I went in and Belinda helped me decide what to do with my hair. We tried the new cut and I wasn't totally sold. It was a great cut, it just wasn't me. Belinda didn't even hesistate or act annoyed, but said, "Let's try something different. I want you to be happy". She restyled my hair and it was beautiful. I thought I would end up paying a lot for having it redone, but she charged me only once. The price was GREAT! I definately recommend this salon. Belinda was a majician with hair, and so nice.
