Best Food in the Triangle 1/10/2007

We love this place. The food is the best in the Triangle. We do eat here atleast one a month and we have not eaten anything bad here yet. Its like going to France with out leave Raleigh. The Wait staff is always there when you need them and very friendly and good at what they do. Everyone that works here seems to love it here. The owner is always on hand to help you and talk to you. I have never felt so at home in a restaurant. Even the bathrooms feel like you are at someones home. The owner and staff feel like family. They even know our names when we walk in the door. If your looking for the best french food and great sevice this is the place to go. I have been to alot of upscale restaurant in the triangle and this is by far the best place to go. Pros: great food and great service Cons: They do not have a bar area more

Best Filet Normandie 12/12/2006

The featured entree of Filet Normandie was the best I have ever eaten. The authentic french food and detailed service made my birthday celebration at Saint Jacques exceptional! Pros: Exceptional service and food more

Superb! 7/29/2006

The best service in the Triangle. Every detail is always perfect, the food is always outstanding. You can count on Saint-Jacques for top level food and service each visit. Also, a great place to lunch, especially if it is a day when you can have a glass of winme with lunch!\r Ideal for special occassions. Rather than just going on our anniversary, my husband and I now celebrate small things more often so we have an excuse to dine at Saint Jacques regularly. more

A great french spot 4/18/2006

We had a great time speaking french with the owner and the waiter. The food & wine was great! A great find and a great place to go if you want to go to France w/o spending the airfare. :-) more

One of the best in the Triangle 4/1/2006

This is one of the best restaurant experiences in the Triangle. The service is attentive and welcoming. The food is perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. My husband had the lamb tenderloin special, served with white beans and pesto, which was so delicious I almost wished I had ordered that, but then I would have missed out on the sea bass, a lovely balance of the buttery fish and the delicate caper sauce. Special extras are the intermezzo (lemon sorbet when we were there) and the tiny savories of chicken mousse and puff pastry. We can't wait to go back again. Pros: superb service, excellent food more

Excellent Service, Great Food. 2/18/2006

The service was one of the best experiences I have had in the Triangle. Overall food was great - one of my favorites was a grapefruit sorbet palette cleanser, simple and delicious. Atmosphere was quiet and romantic, a nice place to chat over dinner on a Friday evening. Pros: Excellent service, Personable Staff more

great 12/18/2005

I ordered the tenderloin, and was somewhat skeptical of the price, but after the first bite of the morel mushroom sauce, id have gladly paid more. this is the best place in town by far, i hope its here for a long time to come Pros: wine menu, food, service Cons: strip mall more

Evening In Paris 10/6/2005

Upon entering the resturant you are treated as though you are a close friend. After being seated the waiter noticed I was wearing a black skirt so he quickly brought me a black napkin so no lint would be left on my skirt. Forgot your reading glasses? No problem, they will prvide you with a pair. These are the little touches that make a great resturant fantastic. The fare is French and wonderful. Everything was cooked to perfection. The wine list is a plus and the sugguested wine was wonderful wih our dinner. Saint-Jacques has become my favorit place to dine. Pros: Food, Service, Good Wine list more

Best around!!!! 8/11/2005

THis is a great find. Lil does a great job bringing fine french food to the area. Glad to see him out on his own and doing so well. The food is great and the service is exceptional. He goes the extra mile to provide the little extras that make dinning at Jaint-Jacques a personal experience!!! Pros: food, service, price Cons: strip mall more

The Food, The Service, The Experience 7/14/2005

My husband and I decided to try Saint-Jacques, which was highly recommended by a friend. It's a small place with alot of charm! Excellent food and great service. The owner Lil knows how to add that special touch. He is detail oriented & personable with every table in the restaurant, which certainly gave it that Southern 'French' feel. The experience we received was like no other in Raleigh. We had such a great experience, we returned the following weekend with a group of 6. We can't wait to go back! Pros: Food, Wine, Inter-Mezzo Cons: Strip Mall more

WOW 6/29/2005

I have dined at St. Jaque's twice, and both times were fabulous. The first time I dined there, the owner (Lil) came over to meet me. The next time I called for reservations, he knew who I was! I called to make reservations on Christmas Eve, and initially they planned not to be open. However, the next day Lil called and said that he had decided to open up for that night since he had a few patrons that had expressed an interest. Lil waited on us personally for the entire evening. The wine (1990 Simard - St. Emilion) was one of the best wines I have ever enjoyed (better than the 1998 Lafite Rothschild Paullic I had). The food was exquisite, and the deserts were wonderful. My girl-friend is French Canadian, and she thorughly enjoyed the experience, comparing the restaurant favorably to Montreal French restaurants. I will be back! Pros: Service, Food, Wine more

truely a cut above 6/3/2005

Now this is a restauant worth writing about. The food is excellent, service first class... I was wearing a black dress and the person who seated us took the white linen napkin and told me he would bring a dark color so as to make sure it did not lint on my dress! Where do you find that kind of service in Raleigh? I had the sea bass as did one of my friends it was perfectly cooked. My other friend had the scallops, they to were excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Only draw back is trying to get a reservation. We opted for early dining at 6:15 but were certainly not rushed as we did not leave until after 9. Pros: Excellent food, Excellent service Cons: Call ahead:popular more

Finally an authentic french restaurant! 6/1/2005

I took my fiance out for dinner at St Jacques on his birthday and everything was just perfect! If you're looking for a truely authentic french restaurant, this is the place, and I'm french so you can trust me on that! I tried the scallop appetizer and the bouillabaisse, and both were excellent. The complimentary ""trou normand"" (a ball of citrus sorbet) was a very nice transition between the appetizer and entree. The service was outstanding: we went there on a quiet weeknight and Lil (the owner) took great care of us. He even wrote ""happy birthday"" with chocolate on my fiance's plate without me having to ask. My parents are visiting me from France this month... I know where i'm taking them! Pros: outstanding food, excellent service Cons: a bit out of raleigh more

A Taste of Provence in North Raleigh 5/20/2005

Dining at Saint-Jacques French Restaurant is the next best thing to actually visiting Provence! Owner, Lil Lacassagne, has brought a piece of his homeland to NC in the form of this delightful, authentic French dining experience. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes on the menu. Pros: excellent food, friendly service, varied menu Cons: too far from Durham more

Saint Jacques restaurant is the only true French restaurant to be operated by French born and with a vast majority of French speaking employees in the Triangle.

Our culinary style and offerings are easy to enjoy. We do not hide basic flavors of the fresh item with over powering sauces or other ingredients. Everything on your plate is there for a reason, and the great wines we serve will marry these dishes. We want to enhance the flavors, awaken the delicate without destroying the subtle. While we dedicate and commit ourselves to value and care for your health, our truest mother concern remains, "Look, listen, smell and please enjoy yourself".
