Great NY / NJ pizza, but the service is awfull. I have visited many times and they have always had my orders wrong. This is why they are not back in NJ, they don't last with se...

So this is the third time I stupidly wasted my money at this place, and believe me it wont happen ever again. The first time I waited inside the store for an hour and a half for a soggy, raw pizza. It was pretty late and they were close to closing time so I just gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured they are just lazy. The second time I called in to order and asked them for a sandwich with tomatoes on it. The guy said ""the computer isn't letting me put tomatoes on it"" umm does the computer make the sandwiches ding-ding?? Anyway I ordered a tunafish sandwich. It was ok but not what I wanted. The third and final time I ordered from here was about 40 minutes ago and needless to say Im pissed. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich which comes with lettuce and tomato but just in case, I specified and said with lettuce and tomato. Well of course I open the sandwich and it has two disgusting, slimy pieces of wilted brown lettuce and no tomato. Not to mention the chicken was slimy and the breading on it was soggy but I would've let it slide had it been made right. Its just sad that people are so incompetent. And for this place to say that they have some east coast food or attitude or something...hahaha!! I am from Baltimore Maryland and have visited Jersey dozens of times and if they served this crap on the east coast they would #1 be out of business already and 2 have a few feet up their asses. more

Pizza good. Service and salads nasty 12/11/2010

way better than average pizza for Austin (maybe even the best) though the place wouldn't cut it on the east coast. It might be the best I've had in Austin but it's far from being spectacular Stay away from the salads. Mine was wilted and inedible. Oh and the service can be downright nasty at times with varying policies on minimums and delivery areas as well. more

Awesome pizza, great service! 5/25/2010

My family has been going to Saccone's for years, even before they moved to this new location. The new space looks great - it's roomy and sparkling clean. \r \r My family can be picky sometimes about our pizza - half this, half that, extra crispy, etc. But Saccones always gets it right, and with a smile. The one time they didn't get it right they gave us a free pizza to go!\r \r I have two small children and can vouch that it's kid friendly! Pros: Fast, clean, great staff more

Best Pizza in the World!!! 4/1/2010

My family and I LOVE Saccone's. Every time I visit I am impressed and can't wait to come back again. \r A few months ago I took my brother and his girlfriend, Tracy, to Saccone's for their first time. Ever since then Tracy cannot stop talking about it and when they came to visit last week she informed me that we were having Saccone's for dinner that night. My brother then explained that she had been looking forward to eating Saccone's pizza more than seeing my husband and myself!!! Although I pretended to be hurt I couldn't blame her I think I would feel the same way, I told my brother she might be a keeper :) \r Pros: Great Food, Great Pizza more

Great pizza! 4/8/2009

This review is for the new location that just opened at 620 & Anderson Mill Road. My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good pizza place, and we found a great one! The pizza is delicious, thin crust style (but not crunchy), and the ingredients are great quality and tasty. I haven't had the subs yet, but if they are anything like the pizza, I'm sure they're great too. The kitchen is open to the dining room, and the cooks asked us on our way out how we liked our meal. Of course it was wonderful. I love it when the cooks at a restaurant are genuinely interested in whether you liked the food. They obviously take a lot of pride in making their guests happy. I don't know whether it's family-owned, but it sure felt that way, like a homey, local establishment. We'll definitely be back. Pros: good food, fair prices Cons: menu at new location still a bit limited more

Very good pizza 10/11/2008

This is my family's favorite place for pizza. (I think this is now the Round Rock location?) This is the type of pizza I grew up eating in the North east - the dough is great and not too thick. Pros: Great pizza Cons: Fixed booths more

best pizza in town 6/26/2008

Without a doubt the best pizza I've had in town. Very consistent, very east coat. I haven'd tried their pasta dishes because I can't pass up the pizza or calzones. One minor complaint would be that the bread for the sandwiches is very airy, not enough texture. I highly recommend any one of their locations. more

Good Pizza! 8/11/2007

I wouldn't say Saccone's was the BEST pizza I have ever had, but I will definitely stop by Saccone's again. The Pizza was good(and HUGE), the service was quick and friendly. I would recommend this to a friend. more

No thanks east coast pizza fans 5/21/2007

Entered this location and wasn't even greeted... these guys acted like they were doing ME a favor by waiting on me. The pizza was way below average. Liked Frank & Angies much better downtown for this type of ultimate thin pizza & much better service! Pros: Selective menu Cons: pizza, service more

Rudino's still better than this one! 5/20/2007

Ordered a few pizza's and some wings at this location... wings were just ok and the same for the pizza. New Jersey style pizza must be extra thin, cause this sure was. Kind of hard to fill up on it... we're from Chicago where you pile on the cheese and the toppings... not going to find that here but the sauce was tasty and it was still better than Mangias in my opinion. $36 for 2 pizza's doesn't come cheap. \r \r Rudino's on 620 is the best we've had in Austin thus far. Pros: Cute little location, sauce was good Cons: Very thin pizza, prices a bit high for such thin pizza, more

Great Pizza and sandwiches 4/28/2007

Try their pizza or any of their sandwiches, you won't be disappointed. Even their hot dogs are great. more

Good lord that was great pizza.... worth the drive 1/25/2007

My wife and I are trying to find the best pizza in town, and we may have found it on the outskirts...\r \r THe hand-made crusts, quality ingredients and top-notch cannoli make this a meal worth the drive. Pros: Neighborhood pizza joint style, flavor Cons: fairly long drive to the Lakeline area more

Excellent Pizza - 11/27/2006

Saconnes has always been consistant for good pizza. It is original and yummy. One a scale of 1-10 for atmosphere, be prepared for a 4! It is clean and there are several tv's for sports watching. There is just no fluff! The wings, salads stromboli is good stuff too! If your in the area and ready for original pizza it is worth the stop! Pros: Yummy Original Pizza Cons: Don't get dressed up! more

Pizza is very good (at times), 183 store is only one I have been to. 8/10/2006

I am not a big pizza fan, will at times orded from Pizza Hut for a so so home delivered pizza. I do not live close enough to Saccones's for home delivery. I am form the South, some friends I work with took me to Saccones' about a year ago, the slices I had were great, I don't know why but I keep going back for 2 or 3 slices each week, most of the time I get really good slices, at other times it has been below par so they have their ups and downs. Service is always pleasent but those in the back mostly young men seems to play alot, I guess they enjoy their work (ha).\r Atmosphere is mall and drap butif you have a unusual licence plate give it to them they will hang it. Haven't tried any of their other food, I took my wife and she tried another item, she didn't like it and hasn't gone back. I still don't know why I go back it must be the pizza! Pros: I don't know why but I like the pizza! Cons: small, hard to get to, small parking lot more

Great thin-crust pizza 3/13/2006

This place serves the best pizza I've had in Austin. The location is a bit of a hassle. The fact that they only serve one size of pizza - very large - is a drag when I don't have anyone to share it with. But the taste makes up for those things. Pros: great pizza Cons: location, one size of pizza more

No Southern Hospitality Here 2/2/2006

I ordered pizza for delivery last week. To save time, I ordered it 2 hours early. After waiting 15 minutes later than I had expected, I called to inquire where my order was. Instead of an apology for the confusion, I then received a 2 to 3 minute lecture that they don't guarentee delivery time. I finally got my order 35 minutes later than I had anticipated! The pizza wasn't even hot! I then wrote a letter to the owner who informed me by phone that he was backing his brother and that basically I was wrong and they were right. I don't care how good the pizza is - it's just pizza!!!!! No one deserves to be treated like this. I am happy to find other restaurants in town that are happy to earn my $$. more

User review by wmarie 1/22/2006

The pizza here is great, there is no denying that. I just have to agree with other people about the staff's attitude. I think these folks try very hard but they are rough around the edges and can be rude. I asked for a to go box for our leftovers, the guy in the kitchen had the nerve to tell me that I don't need a to-go box that I can just use a paper bag. Okay, I'm sorry if you're trying to cut corners or be eco friendly but if a customer requests something you should comply if possible. I will come back but I will bring an attitude as well as my appetite. Pros: pizza, environment, prices Cons: service, other people, NJ devil stuff more

How you doin? 1/11/2006

Hey, I'm from Jersey- 'nuf said! Good for delivery, too. more

Wicked good! 11/2/2005

Wicked great pizza... and the best I've ever had. Going there to eat reminds me of the pizza joint experiences I used to have in Boston Back Bay. If you are clammoring for the feeling of New England, this is your place! more

only 2 places to get really good pizza in Austin 9/19/2005

Saccones and Reales pizza is the best! I'm from Boston and when I moved to Texas I couldn't find any decent pizza anywhere! Of course I'd still like to get my hads on a pub style pizza. I first found Reale's, excellent pizza and food all around, then someone told me about Saccones, the pizza is awesome! AND they deliver! it doesn't get any better than that! Pros: Delivery, Great Pizza Cons: cant fit box in fridg more

There's nothing fancy about Saccone's: white tile floors, Formica tables and booths, sports memorabilia and license plates on the wall. One Texas plate that's front and center...
