OK, but barely so 3/25/2009

A decent but far from outstanding fish restaurant in a nice spot. I didn't like the pushy man outside yelling about low prices and great food. Service was fast and very friendly. Food was very ordinary. Large portions, adequate prices, but very very ordinary food. Some boiled vegetables accompanied our very oily fried fish. The clam chowder was on overfilled bowl of 80% heavy cream, 15% potatoes and 5% something else. Not many clams, really.\r I didn't find it terrible but I will not go back and I would not recommend it. I think the cheap stall food just outside the restaurant is a better option if you feel like having fresh fish. more

Favorite destination 2/14/2009

On the Wharf, this a must for fresh tasty sea food. A small long time fixture on the wharf, they offer a friendly staff, an eat at bar, great food along with all the sights, sounds, and smells of "the city by the bay". more

AWESOME... 10/22/2008

This restaurant is one of my favorites in San Francisco! It is right on the wharf, parking right across the street - they validate parking - the food is awesome - any kind of seafood to different pasta dishes - all of it is great! It is a family owned restaurant - service is great! The place is always packed, but the wait, if any, is well worth it! more

Best kept seafood secret! 4/7/2007

This was by far the best seafood we had while vacationing at the Wharf. There is no view, so if that is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you. The restaurant is tucked behind the crab stands and maybe small, but it has a nice cozy, family feel to it. The food was wonderful. Very good chowder. The scallops melt in your mouth, the prawns done perfectly, and the crab was abundant and delicious. The mussels and calamari are very good as well. The wait staff was very friendly, something we didn't come across often while in San Francisco, but something we are used to coming form the Midwest. The food is moderately priced and the quantity good. If you don't mind the lack of view and tight quarters, but want fabulous seafood, then this is the place for you! Pros: service, food Cons: location more
