Best

THIS ""SPOT"" IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST GRUB ON THE ISLAND OF GALVESTON! I'LL EVEN PUT THE ""SPOT"" UP AGAINST ANY HAMBURGER SPOT IN HOUSTON OR ANYWHERE. ANYTHING YOU GET ON THE ME...

Worst

So-so food, counter service, a bit high pricd for the quality and it's a noisy echo chamber. Pros: Seawall location Cons: NOISY, so-so food, over priced

Good Food/Atmosphere 9/13/2006

The burgers here are huge and the onion rings are SO good. The kids meals are priced well for the amount of food you get. My dd LOVED the souvenir cup/straw that came with the meal. They also get a cookie too. We ordered the green burger(guacamole) and it was good. The french fries seemed to be a tad over seasoned, not hot, just with spices a tad too strong. Overall this is a good place to eat, we will eat here again. The prices aren't too high, but aren't too cheap either. You can sit on the balcony or inside and see the ocean. We enjoyed our visit here. A nice solid 3 stars. Oh, there is also a neat thing there. There is a camera on the deck that you can tell your friends to go to a website and you're live. Fun! Try it, but don't expect it to be the best you've ever had. more

One Spot, Two Stars 8/15/2005

This Seawall "Spot" has tasty burgers, although they are a little overpriced. There's a few other menu choices, and a separate on-site ice-cream parlor and dessert bakery. On the other side of the patio, the Spot's former pizza parlor has been replaced by a bar -- too bad, since that reduced choices for families with kids (and picky eaters) looking for a wider variety of choices. On a recent visit with my relatives who were visiting from Ohio, the highlight for my nephew was talking back to the seagulls who flitted about the upper deck outside. A pleasant "spot" for seaside casual dining outside, although pretty noisy inside. The burger was great (as always) but my nephew's dreamed of pizza were dashed -- he settled for a hot dog. more

Stay away unless the kids want a view with their burger 7/2/2005

I visited this place a few times when I first got to Galveston and the food was 'ok', but then it just turned bad. Burgers were always cold; fries undercooked. The restaurant closed and retooled, and I have not yet visited since it reopened so things might be better, but I have not made the journey to try it out again. If your kids want a slice or a quick burger with a view, then you can give it a go. I'd rather hit a Wendys. Bottom Line: Food was bad; good view though since it's located on Seawall. more
