Rusty`s has never been a "POSH" place to buy seafood...never tried to be. What true fishmarket is? Or wants to be? What Brady has accomplished over the years is to provide over the top quality to those of us who prefer to prepare our own . I will be the first to admit that some of the "prepared to order" specials were not top rate they were fairly priced and more than palatable. I for one do not think a fishmarket should pretend to first class preparation to salvage a first class operation. My family has lived in the area for generations and I will admit to a bit of snobbery when it comes to cleanliness and polish in the delivery of fresh perishables. As avid sportsmen and shore vacationers, my clan enjoys sea bounty directly from its source. Brady was honest in his opinion of the days best catch, always was able to special order a request and had the best damned jumbo lump crab for our traditional Christmas specialties! In December!! I say was because I recently stopped in for my annual shad roe order and learned the business was under new management. At first, I felt guilty as I spent so much time at the shore last summer. After a brief hello to the new manager (Mike, I think) I took a chance on this seasons roe. Well,,, I repeat, if you are a seafood lover who is practised (or wishing to become so) at preparing superb quality for yourself...do NOT let appearances deceive. I have just savored the finest shoe roe ever!! Good luck Mike and all. I wish you the best of success.
