The store was taken over by two children, who had no idea how to run it. The teen "manager," Sterling, would lock up and leave for long periods during prime business hours. Wish I a dollar for every customer who told me they showed up during business hours to find the doors locked and no one in the store. For some reason, they would not fire the girl. Also had a really good store reader in there who would have brought them business but they ran her off, because the "manager" wouldn't set appointments for readings. When you don't set an appointment, people don't feel obligated to show up. Every day about 5 people would call for a reading and then not show up - so the store lost 5 customers every day. That's 5 customers who never entered the store to buy anything. I asked them why did they not fire this totally irresponsible girl, Sterling, since she was running them into the ground? They said it was because she worked cheap for minimum wage and it was a favor to her mother Melissa. Well, what's the point of saving a dollar an hour in wages when you're hemorrhaging money? Friends aren't worth losing your business over. They horn was blowing loudly but they would not get off the tracks. more

I have yet to find a store in Houston like Ruby Rabbits. Melissa was a gem! It was a home away from home.. Wonderful classes with Victoria. I learned so much there. I was so sad when it closed. Taken over by a nice kid but obviously not mature enough to the run the business. A fire broke out in 2007 or so and the store just never came back to what it was. Turned into a "Bliss" something, totally different energy. I miss the store as I do the wonderful owners and staff that worked there, J.O. more
