I had Rubio Turf installed as part of a much bigger pool and back yard project. First I must say for context I have had Easy Turf before so I know what a good product is and this is not a good product (I should have insisted on Easy Turf). It is in fact such a horrible product that we have already ripped out after less than a year and are having Easy Turf install new turf.
First the easy part...it looks really bad with lines in it that never faded away as I was told they would. It also does not bounce back up well after something has been on it.
Second...about a month ago the product started to melt in certain areas. Obviously melting was not something I was hoping for and made an already bad looking product look even worse. My contractor contacted Rubio about the melting and was told it is not covered by the warranty and I quote "because it was not like that when they installed it"...wow that might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard as a warranty is (and correct me if I am wrong) for things that happen after the product was installed. This is just one of many examples of how they do business...poorly!
Lastly...I have two dogs which tend to use the grass as their primary place to go to the bathroom. Now remember I had Easy Turf and my dogs used it in the same way with no issue. No more than one week after installation it began to smell like dog urine...something that never happened with Easy Turf. When Rubio Turf was asked about this their response was “all artificial turfs will eventually smell like dog urine if you have dogs so it was not their problem”. It got so bad that I literally had to wash it every other day thus using more water to clean it then I would have had to use to keep real grass alive. It would smell the same day I washed it. It was ruining our wonderful backyard so we ripped it out last week…the day we did the smell was gone.
