They must be good! 4/11/2006

I do not eat tamales because I am a vegetarian but I have to drive my dad to Ruben's for tamales every year at Christmas time and my family loves them! Judging by the line that is always wrapped around the building a lot of people love them. I have been told that they taste like they are homemade. If you want to try them without the long wait I would suggest avoiding holidays. more

Great Tamales 8/11/2005

I generally liked the tamales from here. At some points I thought they were too greasy but then as I ate more, the taste really grew on me. You have a lot of options to choose from, and they taste really homemade, which is a plus! If you're craving some good ol' texas tamales then this is the place to go! more

Delicious, and Authentic 8/5/2005

I really like this place. The location is quite easy to get to, and parking is extremely accessible. The tamales are tasty. They are indeed homemade but they do not take that long to order. I recommend this place to anyone with a hankering for some good, fresh homemade tamales, or anyone who wants to true taste of the town. more

I Love You Ruben's Tamales 8/5/2005

These tamales are great. They taste just like homemade (maybe because they are made with love). These are good because they are not made with fillers. They really put the beef or chicken or whatever you order into it. They are not greasy at all (like some other store’s tamales that I used to buy from). This is really a staple crop of Texas, the homegrown tamale! I can’t wait until it’s Christmas time so I can get tons of tamales from here! more

Delicious Tamales 8/3/2005

During the holiday season, there will be long lines waiting for these famous tamales. When you taste them, you’ll understand why. They are delicious. You can get chicken or pork tamales. They are not as greasy as some tamales. They heat up great in the microwave. During ‘tamale season’ is not the time to try them, sometimes they run out before you have a chance to get them. more
