RTC Technologies came in to do a bid for a technology job we were looking into. Their sales people ignore the technical staff as much as possible, and concentrate entirely on management. They make sales by giving all these scenarios in which you would need their services. They paint a very bleek picture of your current system and try to scare management into buying a rediculous contract. They threaten that regulators, auditors, and customers will be demanding their technologies be in place.
When I researched their solutions, which were much higher cost than the competition, I realized that they were using a combination of an inexpensive monitoring system and software that is available freely for anyone's use.
