Great Service, Best Food! 12/12/2006

Wonderful views, very friendly servers that really seemed to enjoy their jobs. The food was perfect. Over all the night out to Roy's was perfect! Pros: Parking, Ambience, Service, Food!!! Cons: not enough fireplaces for everyone to have one just for themselves. more

Dissapointment 11/22/2005

Group of 9 left thinking this should have been better. 7 meals were served on time...unfortunatley the other two came 5 minutes later. This is not good when having seafood. Ahi tuna was ok but nothing you can't get at any nice restaurant. Certainly not as good as Kinsey Street Chop House in Chicago. Nice wine list, but not remarkable. Not overly expensive. However in the land of the dot com, Roy's has a computer system that does not easily allow for separate checks. Makes one wonder doesn't it? Pros: magnificent view, good value Cons: service, noisy more

perfect 7/21/2005

I can not say enough of how impressed I was overall by my recent experience at Roy's. The location, service and food all surpassed my high expectations. I definitely recommend roy's for a special occasion. We were treated so well ( for our b'day celebration) and I actually thought the bill would be much higher. The ribs appetizer, sea bass and mai tais were so yummy I thought I was eating at a tropical location. I am looking forward to visiting again. Pros: location, food , service more

Wonderful! 5/16/2005

This is one of my favorite places in the area. The food, and the service are excellent. There's also a beautiful lounge, which is great while you're waiting for your table, or just to go for drinks. You won't be disappointed here! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance more

I love this place 9/8/2004

What a stunning location to watch the sunset, sip a coctail, visit with friends over a superb dinner, and revel in the joy of being on the Monterey Peninsula. It doesn't get much better than this. The food is expensive, however, there is usually an event (anniversary, birthday, friends from out of town coming to visit) that makes a stop here for dinner or luch well worth it. The food cannot be beat. Their seared Ahi is the best - just like being in Hawaii - fresh, perfectly prepared, delicious. more

  • In Short
Roy Yamaguchi opened his first restaurant in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii, blending European cooking techniques with locally produced ingredients and Asian spices. Today, his Hawaiian-fusion cuisine is served in a sophisticated atmosphere with dark woods, Asian accents and contemporary, island-inspired art. In addition to "Roy's classics" like Hawaiian-style misoyaki butterfish and the popular melting hot chocolate souffle, each location offers daily specials prepared by the local chef, all of whom are trained personally by Roy.
