GREAT 3/28/2011

Good: Sat, March 26, my daughter and I picked up the check from Ross Auction for the items we had sent to them for sale. We were very pleased, for the excellent servce, their courtesy and efficiency. From the very first contact with Bill Ross, we knew that we had picked the right company to handle our 'downsizing'. Bill filled gave us all the info, as to fees, etc. When we were ready for the pickup, Sam and Tommy came and we could not have asked for 2 nicer young men than them. They were excellent. Bad: We really did not have any complaints. The fact that some of our items sold for less than we thought they should have has no bearing on Ross Auction. They can not get more than people are willing to pay. It is what it is!. Other: Some of the above comments are quite mean and some of the problem might have been that they did not understand the process or maybe ...just a personality conflict. We found all of the staff helpful and polite at all times. Thank you Ross Auction. more

Mrs Ross has to be turning in her grave! 4/27/2009

Poor record keeping, couldn't account for much of what they accepted. Said it probably didn't sell so they "probably" threw it away. We will NEVER enter that building again! The big man at the counter was so insulting! If legal action was affordable we would have definitely pursued it! more

Best auction house in the city 7/26/2005

Ross Auction has been around for decades, and I have furnished much of my home with antiques I have purchased there. Mrs. Ross passed away recently, but the auction house has a new owner and it is business as usual. They have recently changed the auction day to Saturdays, and they continue to offer specialty auctions now and then. A website has been built and many items can be previewed there. The personnel make the auction process easy, even for the inexperienced bidder. You are also able to preview items in person in days prior to the auction, and leave a bid if you are interested in an item. There is delivery available for a small fee, and you are also able to have your own items put up for auction for a reasonable consignment fee. The auction features everything from antiques to everyday household items, and everything in between. A mobile snack wagon is present for most of the day and provides hot food, chips, candy, and beverages. The auction house accepts payment by cash, check, and credit card. more
