Amazing! I not only found a hair stylist that I LOVE, but I also found a hair salon that makes me feel comfortable. 9/22/2006

I'm from San Diego, CA, so when I moved to Orange County, I was really disappointed with the results of the several hair salons I visited. I found myself driving to San Diego every 6 weeks just to get my highlights re-touched, a trim and my track extentions tightened because I failed to find a hair salon that could equal my expectations. Well, I happened to drive by the salon one wednesday evening, and if it weren't for their bright, green sign, I would have never noticed a hair salon existed there. It's very low key to the public eye, yet well know to anyone who is familiar with great, low-profile salons. They were busy the night I walked in, which happened to be at 6:30 pm (they close wed. & thurs. at 8 pm), and I was greeted by a genuine, friendly staff that tried to accommadate my every need. Jackie was my stylist and I absolutely LOVE my hair!!! She was awesome! Great personality, and great stylist. She even suggested an alternative to track extentions, which was more comfortable. I have been very satisfied with my NXS hair extensions. If ANYONE is searching for a comfortable, relaxed setting with a staff whom is truly skilled and friendly, I defintely recommend Urban Roots Salon. Great place 5/3/2006

I went in and got my hair done by Rosana. She was extremely sweet and new exactly what I wanted! She got the color I wanted my hair just perfect!!! She also added some layers all over which I was a bit apprehensive about at first but absolutely love. They are very nice and accomodating there. The salon inside is very hip and fun. They use TIGI products which I love! They were a bit hard for me to find though. For any future clients they are on the south side of Firestone at Downey and are hidding behind a Jenny Craig. I would definitely recommend this place! I am planning on taking my little sister there! They are a little expensive but well worth the money! I have already scheduled another appointment! Downey's Hidden Treasure! 4/28/2006

I first went to Rosie a little over a year ago and been going ever since. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. Rosie, my stylist, is very skilled and I trust her opinion and expertise. I have recommended my friends to her as well and never have they been disappointed. The salon definitely has an upscale, warm and friendly atmosphere, Its definitely worth it!!! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT 1/18/2006

I went to Urban Roots for color, cut, and Hairloc hair extensions. Rosey knew exactly what to do with my hair and made awsome suggestions. Immediately I felt comfortable and confident that she knew exactly what she was doing and told her to do whatever she thought was best to acheive the results that I was looking for. The day of my appointment I was once again greeted by a very friendly staff. Rosey did a terrific job on my corrective color, cut and WOW once she was finished with my extensions it was absolutely amazing. This salon exceeded my expectations above and beyond!!! I spent most of the day there since I had SO much done, but I did not mind one bit, the friendly staff and relaxing environment made it so pleasant. Highly recommended! Urban Roots is where its at!! 12/24/2005

After searching for a hairstylist on citysearch, I found this one to be the most appealing from reading customer reviews and I'm glad I took the chance on this place. Besides the fact that it's pretty hard to locate if you're not familiar with the area (it's hidden behind Jenny Craig) The parking is free and plentiful. I walked into the chic 'urban' setting and was greeted by the very friendly staff. Rosey (owner/hairstylist) was so excited to get started on my hair when I brought in a picture to show how I wanted. She took a look at my hair and encouraged me to get it and told me that it would turn out great. My hair was freakin' awesome after she got done. Rosey has the skill and is very knowledgeable. If you seriously want the best for your hair, come to Urban Roots! I highly recommended it. more

I moved from New York and searched for a place that would be reasonably priced and had great service. This place rocks! Rosey knew exactly what I wanted, knew how to deliver and even stayed late with me until it was all done. She is attentive, friendly and knows what's in style. A drema come true 10/23/2005

Anyone who appreciates an awsome yet and individual cut and color, come here. I was wecomed in by friendly staff who all had unique styles and cute haircuts themselves (always a good sign, if the staff looks good, you know you'll look good) My hair turned out awesome. It was a beautiful combination between what i wanted, and was was the healthiest for my over-dyed hair, proof to my hair-color addiction. Rosie rocks. She gave me advice on how to care for my color, so it wouldnt wash out, any true hair lover knows you cant wash bright colors the way you would wash normal hair, so, ileft with lots of advice to care for my best hair-do yet. If you're looking for someone who can listen to what you want, and also give opinons on what is best for your hair, look no further. best salon visit yet. more

I GOT A MAKEOVER THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!! 8/16/2005

I WAS LOOKING FOR A SALON THAT WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO GIVE ME A TOTALLY DIFFERENT LOOK WITHOUT ALL THE FUSSOF A SALON. I FOUND URBAN ROOTS THROUGH CITYSEARCH AND I'M THANKFUL FOR IT. THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THEY MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE TO MAKE THE CHANGE. I GOT COLOR AND A HAIRCUT AND A NEW FOUND SENCE OF SELF-CONFIDENCE. Paid Money and no Delivery 6/9/2005

I decided to try out this salon based on the rating found on citysearch as well as the proximity to my house. I am yet to find a salon other than the ones found at the mall that are expensive but the skill and the service you get is excellent. Anyhow my hair color washed out a week later, and even though I did complain to the manager and she offered to color my hair personally, I did feel it was worth bothering, all in all I wouldn;t recommend this salon. Its not cheap either I payed 105.00 for bad hair. more

Feel like a King! or Queen! 9/24/2002

I went into Urban Roots Salon looking for a new hair style, I'm going to a party in Las Vegas next month. I got the best new look...something called a 'Faux-hawk'. A moderne day mohawk. My hair is a show-stopper!!! I can't wait to show it off in SinCity. Rosey (my stylist) was full of cool, new ideas. She and her staff were totally helpful, and really enerjetic during my visit. I can't wait to go back in next month for a new hair colour. I'm also booking a facial. Everyone raves about the Jeralyn. Yet another reason to go back! I'll see you there! Urban Roots knows what they're doing! 7/29/2002

I always wanted a hair style that was different, but everytime I went to see a stylist, they either refused or didn't have the up-to-date knowledge of the new styles. I walked in and 5 minutes later was so excited to learn that not only did Rosie, my stylist, know what I wanted but encouraged me to just go for it! I walked away with the exact style that was in my mind. I didn't even have to bring in a picture or a magazine cut out. It's great!
