Wonderful learning environment for kids. Roper Mountain Science Center is owned by the school district and is primarily geared for school age children, but they offer a lot for the whole family. The science center has a butterfly garden and walking trails that are open to the public when the main gates are open. During the summer they offer mini-camps, 4 days long, called Science for Fun. Definitely check out Starry Nights, held on Fridays. Weather permitting, the observatory roof is opened and it's amazing to see. Very easily accessible for most of Greenville County.
