I started eating at the Roosevelt Tavern back in the 1960's. It was outstanding for about 40 years. The last time I visited was on a Mother's Day. The food was overpriced, overcooked and the portions were undersized. The wait staff is pompous......give me a break....you're a waitress....not a brain surgeon. They seated us 40 minutes after our reservation time. The veal was dry. The seafood soup that's "oh, so wonderful", was nothing more than a thickened white sauce with a few flakes of crabmeat and some rubbery scallops (were they real?). They couldn't even keep our water glasses filled. I'll never, never go back.
