A huge waste of money. 5/21/2011

I started eating at the Roosevelt Tavern back in the 1960's. It was outstanding for about 40 years. The last time I visited was on a Mother's Day. The food was overpriced, overcooked and the portions were undersized. The wait staff is pompous......give me a break....you're a waitress....not a brain surgeon. They seated us 40 minutes after our reservation time. The veal was dry. The seafood soup that's "oh, so wonderful", was nothing more than a thickened white sauce with a few flakes of crabmeat and some rubbery scallops (were they real?). They couldn't even keep our water glasses filled. I'll never, never go back. more

Delightful Dining 8/22/2005

The Roosevelt Tavern has been a staple in York for many years. It has a nice ambience and the food is very good. My family held an anniversary party for my parents and we used a private room and had a wonderful time. I've since been there for intimate dinners, cocktail hour, and yet another anniversary. The food has always been good, some of the frozen drinks are a bit pricey for the size. The parking is ample and well lit. more

Expensive Food That Tastes Great 8/20/2005

Roosevelt Tavern is a really great place to conduct business lunches and relax between meetings. They have a great atmosphere that caters toward the more cultured among us. No fast food mentality here, just great food served with style. My business contacts always enjoy a trip to this facility for lunch. It is a pleasure to find a cultured eatery in a small rural town. more

Fine Dining at it's Best! 8/11/2005

The Roosevelt Tavern has been a York staple for many years. It's had other names over the years but the service and quality haven't changed one bit. The menu offerings are fabulous, and when your dish arrives you are not disappointed! Everything here is top notch - quality of food, presentation, service - everything! Prices are a bit high, but this is fine dining in York at it's best! You MUST try the Cream of Crab soup! Wonderful! Many of the staff have been there for years and are absolutely the best at what they do! more
