Expensive yes...worth every penny, yes. Romaines has to be the best there is. 30 years experience, high quality hair, and so many methods to choose from says it all to me. I said i wouldn't do a review until i wore this hair out! Three installs later? Wow. I'm happy with what i paid for it. would not change a thing. more

I absolutely love Romaines. If you want the best hair extensions, I would highly recommend them. I have been going there for about 10 years. I model and I live between New York and Chicago, and have been to those who have claimed they were the best everywhere in between, but STILL I always end up running back here. This time I got a no braid no glue sew in and it's just so light and airy but still full like i like! Always something new every time i come back. If you want a specialty place for hair weave, it is this place. more

Three months and STILL looking good! 12/21/2008

Oh I feel so bad for those who had a bad experience at Romaines. But I HAD to give a review because MY EXPERIENCE was GREAT! And it continues to be. At first it seemed too pricey but she explained to me about the differences in hair quality and that she can not ALWAYS GUARANTY the hair will act a certain way because she orders from many vendors around the world. But she assured me that if the hair acted up, she would do her best to work things out. She was easy to talk to and I felt that if I had any problems the lines of communication would be open enough to work things out. An excellent weave AND great customer service NO MATTER WHAT. They really try to work with you, from your budget to any problems that may arise, they will do all they can to satisfy you. A friend of mine just got her hair done and she got virgin Indian hair. She is a natural complainer and I have not heard a peep from her yet! THEY ARE THE BEST! No other hair weaver can weave as securely, comfortably and neatly as they do! See, you can always switch out hair, but if your weave technique is bad then you really wasted your money! 100% experts in weaving! 80% on the hair they carry. From what I have read so far, I guess people only review when they are not satisfied. But i am very satisfied with Romaines. Pros: BEST WEAVE TECHNIQUES PERIOD! Cons: TOO BAD THEY DON'T MAKE THE HAIR more

Bad Hair Quality, Misrepresentation of Services 11/16/2008

I am embarrassed to say that I recommended this place to a friend after only wearing my new extensions for a short, prior to my first washing. The hair is absolutely horrible and was misrepresented to me. I will never go back to this salon. Although the proprietor of this establishments speaks very nicely to you, she is someone who has no qualms about taking your money, overcharging you, and misrepresenting her services. Save yourself the aggravation of working with hair that sheds, tangles, and is impossible to manage. Cons: The worse hair extensions, price, salon condition more

Horrible, Tangled Mess - Worst Place for Extensions 11/16/2008

When I went to see Romaines Hair Images, I was referred by a someone who had just done her hair with Romaines. Unfortunately for the both of us, she would have been best advised to wait until she had washed the hair for the first time, prior to making a recommendation. What she found, and what I found was that the hair, which is called ""quality hair"" by Romaines, is nothing but a bird's nest. After paying between $750 - $1100 (my friend added a hair piece), you would expect at least medium quality hair. Pros: Good technique, good conversation. Cons: Horrible, tangled hair that sheds; outdated salon; highly priced; misrepresentation more

ONLY for those who KNOW and APPRECIATE true quality 9/25/2008

I've LOVED my hair extensions! They LOOK and FEEEEEL wonderful!! I am what you would call an expert hair extensions wearer, I KNOW plenty about hair extensions! I have been ALL OVER the world in many different salons. From N.Y. and L.A. salons in five star hotels, to the gutter shops in the dirty dirty south! Some good, some bad, and some just plain ol' sad! And I can truly say that I ALWAYS get what I pay for! But in reading the reviews I am like what the hell! None of these reviews were helpful in really letting me know about RHI for real! I was surprised to see how beautiful it looked. I was satisfied with the cleanliness and it smelled good. I give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10. I paid $25 dollars for a consultation, which is nothing compared to some of the consultation prices I have paid in larger cities! I am a TV personality who travels a lot! I need my hair to look great and I need to be able to manage it myself sometimes. Anyway I was impressed with what I saw and heard so I decided to drop the $3,800 to get it done. DON?T HATE! And I LOVE IT! They work by APPOINTMENT ONLY so I was soooo lovin' the fact that I DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT or have a whole bunch of people in my business while I was getting serviced! NO RUSHING! I went with the cuticle Indian hair produced to feel like a fresh relaxer. It has been about 4 months and this hair still feel new! I am going to use it again next month when I am back in town. You KNOW you got a real good grade of extension hair whenever you can REUSE THE HAIR! Well all in all, anytime I am close to Milwaukee I will go to RHI. They keep my close ups fabulous! This is not the place for beginners! This place is for FABULOUS DIVAS who got it and don't mind spending for ONE on ONE customized and specialized hair extension services. Hell, they do so many hair extension techniques I forgot which one I am wearing now! I plan on purchasing an AUTHENTIC LACE WIG from them this winter. When it comes to RHI, think QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. Pros: THEY ARE THE PROS Cons: PEOPLE HATE ON YOU more

DO NOT make my mistake!!!! Research and don't be taken advantage of! 7/13/2008

I had the worst experiance!!! i paid for a consultation and believed that I was getting very helpful information about hair weaves and extensions.. they were nice and informative. i trusted them..huge mistake. I was totally ripped off! I was totally unfimilair with the cost of weaves and the hair used. I was charged $1200 for a basic weave and ""excellent"" hair. I took very good care of it and i was satisfied with the way it looked after the 6 hours i waited to have it done. The wait did not bother me although i sat for close to an hour while she left me to do a random unscheduled consultation. The salon was dirty, outdated and i was the only client..besides the walk in consulation woman.. go figure.. Although it looked ok i could tell that the very ""high quality"" hair that cost me so much was not much better than a horses tail. I am white and have fine strands of hair it did not blend well at all and this was course, had split ends, and tangled badly. My black friends made fun of me when i told them about my experiance and what i paid and refered me to a GREAT place that undid it (after it grew out)washed my hair and redid it with the same hair for only $180!!! the girl who did it at qualiss agreed that the hair was not good quality and told me that the weave was not done correctly and they did too many 'doubles' which made my hair knot and tangle. i was also informed that really good hair only costs 120 form the wig shop and mine was probably $50 hair at best. I was so happy with the job they did at qualiss on the north side of milwaukee i would highly reccomend them because they are reasonable and honest. Romaines wanted 125 to take it out and 700-800 to redo it. Ofcourse i wasnt going back but i thought i would call to see. I dont know if they ripped me off because they could tell i didnt know anything about weaves or if they are just super over priced, you need to research!!!!! im a student and wasted a ton of money on all this dont make my mistake! Pros: good location and parking Cons: overpriced/dishonest, unprofessional, dirty more

2 star look but 5 star service! 4/19/2008

I have been going to Romaines for my hair extensions for years. And I would say that they are moderately to expensively priced depending on the details of each particularly service. I have spent from $500-$3,500 on different occasions for my hair extensions at Romaines. They do not have what you would call a glamorous looking salon but I have yet to run into a high-end LOOKING salon who can even begin to compete with their expertise and quality hair. I think maybe once i had an issue with a bad batch of hair. I let them know and they replaced the hair for free! Before every service they give me a thorough wash and deep condition. They always tell me to come in for maintenance on my extensions but i never feel like I have to. The know EVERYTHING about hair extensions; I did not know that there are so many ways to you can add extensions in! During your consultation they give you a lot of options on hair grade. They carry A++ which is too high for me right now! They also carry A+, A, and B+ hair. The B+ hair is included with their service which is like a step above the beauty supply store hair, and I have been sticking with that lately and I LOVE IT! They work with my budget and do everything they can to ensure my satisfaction. I like their genuine concern for me as a person too. It's like my second home! And i NEVER have to wait! So if your are looking for a small boutique salon with a ""homely"" feel that will give you ""glamorous"" hair extensions, then go to Romaines! Pros: Decent, they communicate, 20 years of business, they try to fit your budget, unsurpassed hair extension service, everything is included in the price Cons: Common look of salon down plays the excellence of their services. Romaine's Charges a Bundle for Cheap, Stinky Weaves - Get Your Extensions Someplace Else! 12/27/2007

So, I went to Romaine's to get a hair weave and was assured the hair that came with the service was ""expensive, good hair that won't mat or tangle."" It turns out, not only is the the hair cheap, it also tangled the very next day and it smelled horrible! I asked for a cut, which was done with a razor. All of this for $700. I had to go to another salon and spend even more money getting the cut corrected. The stylist at the hair salon did compliment the weaving technique, but suggested that next time, I use European hair and not the cheap mess I was given. He also noted that Romaine's uses nylon thread when sewing the hair, and hoped my hair didn't get damaged from it. And they claim to be all about healthy hair. Pros: They are conversational, show movies and have lots of magazines to keep you entertained Cons: Cheap hair, misrepresentation of services, dirty salon more
