Good stuff! 4/5/2011

This is a place where you simply hang out, and drink up. Crowd is on the average 25 and up, and there is always a good time waiting to happen here. This is a low key place to gather at and enjoy a good beer. more

great night out 6/3/2008

great place to unwind after a busy day, casual, service was good, prices not bad, over all I'd be back! Pros: great service Cons: location more

Great Inner Loop Hang Out 4/7/2008

If you are looking for a place to call your own, then Roeders Pub is your answer. The drink selections are vast - be it a martini that tickles your fancy, a cool mixed drink, a pint of your favorite ale or even a chilled shot of Tuaca or Jagermeister. The bartenders are some of the best I have come across - great at what they do and make you feel right at home. Many a time I have seen a person who has only been in once before be surprised that the bartender remembered what their drink prefence is. If there is an import beer or special liquor you fancy but they don't carry, let them know and Ben and Sandy Roeder will try and take care of you the next time. I have seen previous reviews say that there are a lot of regulars that frequent the bar almost as if that is a bad thing - kind of tells you something about the staff and owners, I think. BIG Houston sports fans, especially Astros. For the smoking sports fan bummed about the smoking ban, you can still enjoy the game, your drink and your cig on the patio out back with a large display screen TV. more

Love This Pub 4/4/2008

Want somewhere to watch the Astros, Rockets, or Texans (especially the Astros -- apparently a few fanatics there, but that's great!) that is comfortable, friendly, and classy? This is the place. I counted seven screens, not counting the large outdoor screen, and the bar staff is happy to try to accomodate specific viewing requests. This is a nice looking pub with its recycled post-office wood floor and back-bar wood and glass shelves. The bar staff are pros, and the regulars are friendly. Don't count on music during game time, as the game sound will be on. Nice outdoor smoking area (w/screen). Great neighborhood pub. more

Great Neighborhood Bar 3/10/2008

Great local pub. Roeders has a large beer selection and all the sports you could ever watch. The staff is friendly as are the customers. Trivia on Tuesday nights. Great owners. more

Best neighborhood bar 3/3/2008

Roeder's is easily the most comfortable bar in town to catch a martini or pint with friends. There is no better place to watch the Saints on a Sunday afternoon while enjoying the best bloody mary in town. The bartender and fresh horseradish are the secret! Pros: Great Staff, WiFi, Value, Bloody Mary's more

Great local bar 2/28/2008

Roeders (pronounced ""Raiders"") is a great place for a few beers after work or for a fun Saturday night with the crew. During the week, it's relaxed with some regulars at the bar, and a few people throwing darts or playing 18 holes on the Golden Tee machine. Late night and on weekends, industry regulars and partygoers drop in to test the staff?s shot-making ability. Pros: great service, great juke box, great beer selection more

Very excellent neighborhood joint. 2/27/2008

Great local place with friendly and capable staff and very nice owners. Great beer and drink selections and ALL the games in every sport. more

Comfortable and Familiar 2/26/2008

When you walk in, you are warmly greeted by great bar staff and out-going regulars. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Trivia Night on Tuesdays is even challenging enough for the Mensa-minded! I've been coming to Roeder's for about 4 years and know it is a safe pub where there are friends to be met and old friends to meet. My girlfriends and I can meet to drink and talk and know we are well looked after. One of my requirements is good parking, and in 4 years I've never gone wandering for a spot. There are wonderful restaurants near by that are happy to deliver! Most importantly Sandi and Ben, the owners, and the bar staff are like extended family who are always happy to see you! Roeder's is more than worth stopping by...it is worth staying! Pros: owners, staff, and regulars Cons: no kitchen -- but really good restaurants deliver! more

A good all round bar 1/23/2008

I don't usually find myself saying this, but actually this bar is good...primarily because the bar staff are good. The bar isn't much in the way of trendy or mega busy, but it has a loyal clientele. Yeah, I actually will go there again...one day, when I need to chill out and relax. TTFN Pros: Good service Cons: A bit divey more

Cool jukebox - darts - friendly atmosphere 7/13/2007

I have only been there once , when it wasn't crowded at all - but it was pretty cool - nice service, jukebox is the kind where you can download music, they have 2 dart boards and it seemed like the people in there were regulars. Pros: Ruchi's next door!! Cons: Parking is small more

A Comfortable Hangout 1/22/2005

Yeah, its not a spot for trendoid punk kids or somewhere for a five star dinner. It is the most comfortable pub inside the loop. Its got a friendly staff, reasonable prices, a kickin GenX triva game on Tuesdays, the most video-crack campions in town, and none of the drama alot of the other pubs in the neighborhood are known for. If ya want a bite while youre there - ask for a delivery menu. Roeders provides a spot where ya can meet articulate intelligent folks, have a few drinks, and fall into interesting conversation. Its a pub that listens to its patrons and works to please them. Pros: great jukebox, allows food delivery, rockin staff Cons: , needs more cowbell more

cheers--what?? 1/8/2005

This place tries very hard...not made it yet. Most people are regular drinkers/smokers. not much new life here....same ol folks. More of a mixture at other local pubs. no food either---have to leave to get a decent bite to eat. Cons: , no food more

My new favorite neighborhood bar 12/1/2003

Ma & Pa Roeder go the extra mile to assure that everybody feels welcome. A great staff, and a great place to meet friends and/or watch the weekend sports. Big fun trivia on Tuesdays. more

My new Living Room 11/28/2003

There are alot of pubs popping up inside the Loop, but by and large the best new addition is Roeders! The staff is the friendliest group I've encountered in years - they knew my name and drink after a couple of visits and, hey, they even started carrying my brand of smokes just 'cause I asked - you wont find that many places. The jukebox is a mix of current alt, classic rock, and eighties. There is a massive flat screen for football enjoyment and a groovy patio to get away from it if you need to. So basically - friendly people, good tunes, flat screen and beer - everything I could want in a living room! Pros: Great staff, nice mix of beers, Video crack online Cons: parking can get hairy, no food more

Great place to meet friends 9/4/2003

You'll find new owners at the old Maxwells location, and a comfy, kick-your-shoes-off atmosphere where everyone knows your name. The new staff is awesome and the new owners are usually around to greet new faces. The bar features premium spirits as well as a host of international beers. Great hardwood floors, historical sports photographs and beautiful hardwood back bar contribute to the great atmosphere. Pros: Darts/Juke Box, 42" Plasma TV , Plenty Parking more

Nice New InnerLoop Sports Bar 8/28/2003

A nice addition to the Upper Kirby District. Cozy, neighborhood bar with nice regulars and steady newcomers. If you want to watch a game and not have to hassle with 1. Parking problems, 2. Too young crowds, or 3. Stuffy attitudes than this is the place to go. Pros: Great parking, Plasma Screen TV, Friendly atmosphere more
