We all Enjoyed Ourselves 6/10/2011

The lounge is a Great place. Has balcony with extra comfy seating but most importantly the screen doors were propped open, so it didn't get too hot or smoky. Bartender was extremely friendly. She brought a drink to my hubby on her and when I was done with my drinks, she got me a glass of water without my asking. I have to add we got lucky and sat right at the bar the first part of the night. DJ JCEE had great dance music. My husband joked that he must have my iPod. Great atmosphere. There were two bachelorette parties. Everyone was enjoying themselves. We are staying at this hotel, so, all we had to do was walk downstairs. more

We plan to return to this resort. 6/8/2011

My Mom & Dad stayed at this resort for five days and really enjoyed their stay. We had dinner in the Circa restaurant and the food was wonderful! We had cocktail at the bar and decided to go out on the the patio. What a wonderful view of the pool and every suite had a fire-pit. The 70 million dollar remodel was worth the wait. We plan to return to this resort. Service was outstanding BUT they charge $6.00 to valet park! more

Can't say enough great things about this hotel 6/1/2011

I have stayed at the Riveria many times, and everytime my expectations are completely satisfied!!! I don't review that often but I felt compelled to give credit where credit is due! The staff has always been very warm and welcoming! The hotel itself is beautiful! The style of the hotel is just cool! You feel very comfortable and cool at the same time! Attention to detail is superb! The rooms are very comfortable and styled awesome as well, beds are comfy with great pillows! If you like to hang by the pool then this is definitely the place for you! Super big pool with plenty of comfortable seats! At night they light the fires around the pool and they are great to sit and have a cocktail at! Can't say enough great things about this hotel!!!! more

become a favorite 5/25/2011

My spouse and I decided we HAD to stay here after dining at the hotel restaurant, Circa 59, last year. The property had recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation and it is amazing. We had a family engagement in the Palm Desert and didn't even give another hotel a single thought. There are at least three different lounges/bars and each of them is beautiful. Both nights we were there (Saturday and Sunday), there was live music. The crowd on Saturday seemed much younger and wilder than the crowd on Sunday night but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. The food at Circa 59 is incredible. Everything is local, natural, sustainable and seasonal. There is a very nice fixed price menu; however, we chose to order multiple items off of the menu and split them. Our wait staff was very accommodating and we were not charged a fee for splitting our entree, or any other item we ordered. The service was impeccable. Although it was Sunday night and we were only one of a few diners there, our waiter was fantastic. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu, the specials, the wine list and the area. A nice perk was that on Sunday night, every wine on the wine list was 50% off -- what a GREAT way to try something you normally would not order because of price, etc. This is a romantic spot as well as a good place for foodies. Our room was gorgeous. We splurged and stayed in a junior suite. The room was spacious and the decor was very modern. The bathroom was beautiful and had an extra large tub which we took advantage of on our second night there. The beds were extremely comfy and full of fluffy goodness and comfort. In fact, it was more comfortable than our bed at home! We ordered room service on Sunday morning and it arrived at breakneck speed. The food was hot and presented well; however, it was not as good as the meal we had eaten in the restaurant or any of the appetizers we had eaten in the lounges. It was good, it just was not outstanding. Nonetheless, this hotel has become a favorite... more

Thank you again for providing the highest level of service and comfort. I can't wait to stay with you again and experience more of your luxerious amenities. more

Great job 10/6/2010

Lily at Spa Terre did my manicure/pedicure and was an absolute doll. She was very sweet and did a great job. She is definitely an asset to your resort. Magda? (pretty blonde with accent) was very nice and complimented the Hot N Dry Group for being so nice and polite during our conference. She said it was a very positive experience for the resort. That was a nice thing to hear. more

Wonderful resort 10/5/2010

This was a wonderful resort with great service and pool environment. If you want a quiet spread out resort I would suggest a different place. This was good for people watching and music. You might want to make a few drinks in your room. Our tab was pretty stiff even with a few of our own drinks. Had a wonderful time though! Oh ya... watch out for the edges of the bed... I drew blood on both legs... you laugh now... just wait until you trip and fall... :) more

We enjoyed ourselves 9/28/2010

My wife and I chose the Riviera since it had been quite awhile since we had spent anytime in Palm Springs (...vs. Palm Desert, Ranch Mirage, La Quinta, etc.), and we were looking for sun and solitude. We read some prior reviews and were a bit concerned that, as seniors, the "solitude" part may be a challenge. In fact, the place is largely couples and groups in the 30/40s, the majority of which are really the partying type. Recognizing we were really not the "core" resort guest, we made early arrival and room arrangements in advance. This worked out GREAT. The help was very very friendly and hospitable, our room (Bldg. 7) was far from the partying crowd, and we planned our days to enjoy the facility when the people density was the lowest. The resort is very convenient to the shopping and restaurants of PS and is very accessible to the 10 Freeway. It is very self-contained with lots of amenity outlets right on property. We enjoyed ourselves and felt quite refreshed on the ride home. more

Love this beautiful hotel! 9/24/2010

Has the look and feel of a chi-chi upscale hotel, but surprisingly, lacks all of the attitude and air of superiority. The entire staff from the check in desk to the valets to the maids were really helpful and accommodating, friendly even! We asked for another bed sheet for the sofa bed in our suite and the maid came in and completely re-covered the bed with fresh linens and an extra comforter. Every request was promptly and happily handled by their staff. We had a dinner party of 6ppl in their restaurant. Food was amazing and service was great, too. Will definately be back. Great bar as well with top notch live entertainment. I'd definitely recommend the pool side rooms, it doesn't get much better than a sunny Palm Springs day with the sun shimmering over the mountains. Oh, and the lobby lounge is not bad either. more

OMG AMAZING FOR BUSINESS AND PERSONAL SYACATION 9/23/2010

All I can say is amazing regarding this property, company and staff. The venue is absolutely wonderful for business and leisure travel. A total jewel in the sand!! This is my second time and I cannot say enough regarding the staff at the front desk, bell personnel, parking, sales staff, Jessi well totally a pleasure to deal with. Also Joe and his crew at the Bikini Bar well they are a big part of the reason that we will continue to visit the jewel in the sand! Sincerely, Theresa & Alan and YES we will refer friends and business associates!!!! They will all love me for it. more

Simply Outstanding 9/20/2010

The hotel was pretty amazing but what made the experience even better was the outstanding and attentive service we all received while we were there. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and the hotel. Highly recommended. more

What an amazing place to stay 9/17/2010

I was at the Riveria with a conference I was attending. The staff went out of their way to be gracious and helpful the whole weekend. With the whole hotel being taken up by the conference one would expect a few glitches to come up and they did but they were addressed immediately to everyones satisfaction. I would hightly recommend it as a place to hold a meeting or just a place to vacation. more

Dramatically exceeded expectations 9/16/2010

I had a great experience. The check-in was fast and I was upgraded to a suite. Service was quick and friendly everywhere -- especially by the Deep End pool, which is tucked in the back of the property and is less crowded than the main pool. The rooms were clean and the decor is terrific. I was scared by all the reviews of loud partying but there's nothing to worry about. The music didn't go all night. If this is a high concern, ask to be put in Building 4 or 5, which are the taller buildings away from the main pool. The hotel also has a trolley service that makes runs to downtown Palm Springs, which has a lot of great restaurants, bars and parks. Overall I don't understand all the complaints. Food was great. Massage at the spa was one of the best I ever had. I had a great time at the Riviera and will definitely be visiting again! more
