The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel was an amazing hotel 9/1/2010

The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel was an amazing hotel to stay out from the atmosphere to the staff. While I was there, I was able to walk to multiple locations downtown becuase of the great location. Overlooking the balcony was a great view of the city and the River. The room was set up ideally in order to get work done or relax and enjoy my time in the hotel. The hotel pool was also beautiful and made me feel like I was in a tropical area relaxing while taking in some sun. One of the best things about the hotel, besides the location, cleanliness, and amenities, was the great hotel staff. They were all friendly and willing to assist in all sorts of matters including helping us find out where fireworks would be held. All around I enjoyed my vacation in San Antonio and if I ever go back I hope to stay at the same hotel for another enjoyable visit. more

We booked a non-smoking King Terrace Room and it was great! 8/30/2010

We booked a non-smoking King Terrace Room and it was great! It was in the "new" section in the San Fernando Tower and we had to switch elevators at Level 6 to get to our room on Level 11 and the walk was kind of long but given that we indulged with good food in San Antonio, we needed to get some exercise LOL! The Drury had great access to the riverwalk and we really enjoyed our stay. TIP: Check out the hotel website for the e-rate and then recheck it before you stay there because we found that it was actually cheaper. The hotel adjusted our bill. The happy hour was a great benefit too! more

I love older, historic hotels so this was just perfect for us 8/30/2010

My sister-in-law & I spent 2 nights at the Riverwalk Vista & couldn't have had a better time. I love older, historic hotels so this was just perfect for us. It was just around the corner from the Alamo and across the street from the Riverwalk. Since our visit was so short we wanted a place that would allow us to walk everywhere & this was it. more

Perfect find, perfect stay! 8/27/2010

Upon arrival, we were greeted by two very personable clerks. Our check-in process was quick and we were off to our room in no time. We had a pool-side view, which was quite nice. The pool area was colorful, clean, relaxing, and inviting. Our room was not huge, but it was good for us and was definitely anything but uncomfortable. Parking in their garage was $12 a day, but this was not unexpected. I had read in advance that this hotel charged for parking. Frankly, it’s well worth it anyway; there is nowhere else in the downtown area to park, really except paid parking garages. The garage was clean, camera-monitored, and often monitored by staff members as well. We did not worry for a moment about our car. Upon exiting the hotel, you walk MAYBE a block down the street, descend some steps from the street level to the river level, and you’re on your way! The hotel is towards the end of the River Walk, but within three minutes time, you have reached the area where all of the excitement is. The area without all of the excitement is still quite serene, peaceful, and pretty to look at! From the lobby area with a fireplace and a library to the nicely decorated breakfast area, this hotel offers everything we needed with good location and more than fair prices. I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. They made our trip hassle-free and more enjoyable; it was a perfect place to rest our heads after the day’s events! more

Simply wonderful 8/10/2010

My wife and I had a weekend without our kids and decided to "play tourist". The hotel was simply wonderful. It had a relaxing -at home feel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. Our room was great and the beds were out of this world -Where can I buy those mattress and pillows?? I would consider this hotel again. Its location was perfect and on the quite side of the river and everything was nearby. I give it two thumbs up! My wife was happy - I am happy. more

Recommend to anyone 7/20/2010

I am a member of the Australian Defence Force and chose to stay at the Riverwalk Plaza after reading several reviews, especially one written by a retired member of the US Navy. I travel extensively throughout the Middle East and Europe in my current assignment and stay at mostly 5 Star and above hotels. The Riverview Plaza Hotel is not a 5 Star Hotel, however the level of service provided, location and appointment of the rooms were very good. The room rate included free in room internet access and a light breakfast. Parking was at a additional cost of $12 per day, however the rate is much cheaper than the larger hotels and about the same if not cheaper than trying to park in Parking Stations in Downtown San Antonio. The hotel is within walking distance to all major tourist attractions and places to eat in Downtown San Antonio (Alamo, Hardrock etc). Lastly and very important to me was the fact the Staff were always friendly and willing to assist if required. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble to them. I would definitely stay at the Riverview Plaza again if I was to return to San Antonio for leisure or work and I would recommend it to anyone considering visiting San Antonio. more

Wonderful, great service 7/19/2010

Wonderful experience 7/15/2010

The Hotel overlooked the Riverwalk and convenient to the Riverwalk entrance but being a block or two from the entrance made for a quieter stay. We had several people staying at the hotel allowing us to make a review on multiple rooms. The beds were heavenly in the King and Queen rooms but not so much in the standard two queen rooms. My husband and I stayed in the Executive Suite which was very nice and offered a queen connecting room in which my son and friend stayed. Very large bathroom, jetted heart shaped tub, granite counters, large standup shower with three shower heads. The service was exemplary and staff was friendly and helpful. Parking at this facility was much more reasonable than other hotels in the area. Overall a wonderful experience. I will stay there again when visiting San Antonio. more

Enjoyed every minute 7/12/2010

We arrived at the hotel and from being greeted at the front desk, to the comfort level of the pool and atmosphere of the hotel we enjoyed every moment. The rooms were very clean and made for a relaxing stay. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, the set-up of the room was great in order to get work down while enjoying a vacation. It's a great location, with a great view of the river walk. Also, the pool side area is beautiful. I would definitely recommend others to stay at this hotel, and I know anytime I go back to San Antonio I will be staying there as well. more

Great location 7/7/2010

This hotel is in a great location; the riverwalk is pretty much right out the back door. The customer service is excellent, and the hotel is beautiful, comfortable, clean and of good value. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to have a great time in San Antonio! more

Extremely accommodating 7/2/2010

I stayed at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel in August of 2009. We had a small training to conduct for a religious camp and needed a meeting space that could accommodate approximately 40 people. We also needed areas to conduct smaller breakout sessions. This hotel was the perfect venue for us. They were extremely accommodating and had the perfect space for our meetings. They also provided great service and I truly think that this was a contributing factor to our successful training sessions. It was a very tiring weekend and I couldn't have been more pleased to sleep in a comfortable, clean bed and go explore San Antonio the next morning. It's the small things about the Riverwalk Plaza that made me enjoy my stay- they have makeup remover in the rooms...they offer freshly baked cookies at the front desk...yes these are small things but they MADE my weekend. Thanks for an amazing stay guys-you have gained a customer for life, I plan on bringing my husband and children back with me in the near future! more

I'd stay here again 7/1/2010

Stayed here 3 nights for the WSU Notre Dame football game. Not new or centered on the Riverwalk proper, but well worth the short walk pricewise. Room and furniture were fine. Front desk, OK. Parking was $13 per day, about the same as surrounding lots. No restaurant or bar, but the free breakfast was ok. I'd stay here again. more

Helpful, courteous staff 6/30/2010

If you want to be on the riverwalk, but don't want to pay the top price, this hotel is a great option. The Riverwalk is just across the street, with the main shopping/dining area being just a short walk. La Villita shopping area is also just a couple blocks away. The continental breakfast is basic and a fine amount of food to fuel you up and get you on your way for free. Helpful, courteous staff. The in-room bottled water and pretzels are a nice bonus! more
