I only wanted a trim! 4/30/2009

I went there looking to get my hair trimmed a little. Just an inch off. When I left and went home, I noticed that it didn't look right... Dorthea styled it too! So I went back to get my bangs re trimmed and said that I wanted my bangs all even. She still styled it AND took off a few more inches! I eventually had to trim my hair myself and noticed she can't cut straight. I'm going to have to go around with a messed up hair style or shave my head now... She's an amateur at best. 2nd all time worst haircut ever received!! 1/12/2009

My hair was absolutely butchered by the stylist that I went to at this salon. Upon arrival to my appointment with a more experienced stylist, I was told that someone else (a new stylist, recently out of school) would be cutting my hair. Naively I agreed, and left with chunks hacked out of the back of my hair. I would have been better off cutting it myself!!! If you're looking for quality, this is not the place to go. i used to go to the ritz 3years ago and it was the best salon in town. i recently just moved back and visited the ritz to get my color done and it was nothing like it used to be. it used to be one of the upscale salons and now it felt like a cheap salon. 2 of my stylist were no longer there and had to try someone new. the employees were not professional at all, nor did they look it. i would not recommend this salon anymore. to charge upscale prices the salon needs to back it up with atmosphere,style and skill. hopefully they get it back to what is used to be but seems like that would be hard to do. I hoped to receive a great color since I had seen the work done here with\r my acquaintances, but I never expected to look so great.\r \r They transformed a mousy brown color into the most luxurious shine and\r highlights. It seems to glow with health and vitality!!\r \r The rest of the services look great. I saw everyone leave smiling, I will be back! Pros: Treated with utmost respect and professionalism. Cons: Had to wait for about 10 minutes, but understand and am willing to wait for skill. more

Screwed up and don't want to fix it 8/19/2008

I was a customer of Ritz International Hair of Hampton, Virginia on 11August 2008. A friend of mine and me went in and spent +$150 to get our hair highlighted with 3 different colors to go from medium brown to a light blonde. I was charged for four colors. After sitting in the salon for four hours, we did not receive what we asked for. So, instead of sitting for another four hours to get it fixed, we left hoping to accept it. My stylist said if I wanted some more highlights added later on to just let her know and I would not be charged for it. I called to schedule an appointment for us to go back and fix our hair to what we had originally asked for, I was told to call back and speak with the manager. I called four separate occasions and was unable to get a hold of the manager. Then I was told that the manager would call me twice but that never happened. I finally was able to make an appointment for my friend but was informed that the same stylist that colored her hair originally would have to be the one to fix it and that she would not be getting paid for. So, today, my friend went into the salon and sat there for twenty minutes only to be embarrassed in front of everyone. She was told that she got exactly what she asked for and that she would have to pay to get her hair fixed to what she originally asked for. I do not appreciate this and would hope that you could right this wrong. Cons: dont do what you ask for more
