Nice atmosphere 11/16/2006

I enjoyed this place. Good atmosphere, good food. Great place to hang out with friends in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a brew. Plus, if I remember correctly, it's next to the Crystal Ballroom. Grab a drink before a concert. more

Too crowded 7/7/2006

THis place picked up dramatically at 10 PM. The DJ is not very good, it was more like bleeding songs together rather than mixing. It was horrible. The place is so packed, it took me the longest time to get from one side of the bar to the other. It is a great place if you don't plan on moving anywhere in the restaurant. Cons: Too crowded more

I had a Good Time 8/6/2005

By the time I got here...I was already smashed so I didnt order 1 drink. So I couldnt say if they were strong or expensive. The line was long...(I went yesterday..a Saturday) They were playing hip hop and the dance floor was packed..there were plenty of single ladies everywhere. There was no cover charge and they arent strict about dress code. I definately recommend checkin this place out. Pros: No Cover, Good Singles Spot, Crowded more

Ringlers great for night scene 11/22/2004

It is rediculous to complain about the strength of a long island. The point of the drink is that it is strong, but does not TASTE strong. I have had long islands there and have become more tipsy than I care to admit. I have had good service at Ringlers, despite the fact that it gets rediculously busy on the weekends. Sometimes you have to wait a minute or two to get a drink, but that is a small price to pay for the scene. I have never had to wait more that four minutes TOPS for service, and I have always been treated with respect. Overall, it is great fun with hot people and NO COVER! Pros: no cover, good music, dancing Cons: , line to get in more

Fun at McMenamins 10/21/2004

This is a great place on a Friday night. The drinks are so-so, the beer is McMenamins, (you can also get others). There's pool tables, a dance floor and good music. It gets crowded making it hard to get to the bar, so ration out your drinks carefully. Pros: good atmosphere, fun more

Ring THIS..... 8/22/2004

Scale of 1 to 10, I'd give them a 2. One for clean bathrooms, one for good dancing. Service was HORRIBLE and I was even there on my 21st birthday. If they can't treat the birthday girl right, that's wrong!! It was more fun waiting to get in than it was once I was there. Forget 3 strikes, you're out. Pros: Clean, Music Cons: , Rude Service more

Mixed emotions 11/4/2003

What to say about Ringlers? I've been here several times, and it's really hit or miss regarding the clientele. Some nights there a lot of friendly people (read: women) and other nights nothing but catty women and low class guys. The service, however, is consistently terrible. The crowds are no excuse. Pros: close to my house, gets busy, laid back I guess Cons: bad service, bad service, bad service more

not bad 1/24/2003

It's a McMenamins-of course it's gonna be cool! I think it's a great place to hang out. But seating can be uncomfortable-but realistic for how crowded it gets! Pros: hard wood benches, great lighting, lots of pool tables Cons: casual, laid-back more

Apathetic service 11/8/2002

I have been to Ringlers twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times, the crowd was sparse and there were plenty of waitstaff present. But trying to get service was like pulling teeth. Between conversatins on the phone and with other employees, our server and bartender found it extremely difficult to find thirty seconds to do their jobs. When the restaurant is under fifty percent filled, it shouldn't take thirty minutes to get a first round of beer. Only the ususally good McMenamims food and drink keep the overall rating above a five. more

Best of the McMinns. 7/22/2002

McMinns. Pubs can be hit or miss, especially with their smaller, non-marque pubs (read anything that is not the Edgefield or Kennedy School). Ringler's really shines, though. Excellent brews (thats a given), full bar, good (and cheap) eats, good tunes, cigar friendly, pool tables, open late. All of this adds up to one fine place to hang out. Funny, its not usually the first place i pick to go, but I seem to end up there a lot when other places just won't do. The service can be hit or miss, depending on who is on that day. It has ranged from excellent to slow and terrible for me, in the same week no less! Other than that minor quibble, it is all good. Pros: cigar friendly, good, cheap eats, open late Cons: spotty service, occaisionally loud more

  • In Short
From dance academy to garage, this historic building has been put to many uses. Today, antique lamps and Oriental carpets, Indonesian carvings and vintage pool tables all combine with the Burnside grit outside the windows. A good place for groups and families during the day, Ringlers is known as one of the city's best singles scenes at night. An almost endless drink menu includes microbrews, fine bourbons, single-malt scotches and specialty cocktails.
