Rincon Crillo - Like Mama would Make (If she is Cuban! 4/26/2011

I used to work at an office around the corner from Rincon Crillo & was hooked from the first moment! The food is awesome & the black beans & rice help me mentally energize.\r \r I was scared a few times I went in by the big men with big guns, but then realized that they were FBI agents, so I turned red. Even the FBI likes Cuban food for lunch!\r \r This is an inexpensive way to enjoy Cuban food at lunchtime & the portions. Anytime I need a favor from a prominent local defense attorney, I offer to take him for Pork Chops, which is the Tuesday special! It works like a charm! more

Delicioso! 9/26/2010

I used to go here all the time when I lived in Vegas. They're on the seedier end of the strip but the place is definitely worth a visit. The picadillo is awesome. And so is the bistec palamillo. I'm drooling just thinking of the place. more

My favorite 5/29/2008

This is my favorite Cuban restaurant in Las Vegas. I've been to all the others, especially the more commercial ones like Florida Cafe and Havana Grill, and while they are much better in terms of atmosphere and service, their food is also commercialized, which defeats the purpose of eating at a Cuban restaurant. This place is a small, hole-in-the-wall, where ordering in Spanish is the norm and you'll find more Cubans eating here than anywhere else. Having been raised on Cuban food made by my grandmother, a Cuban immigrant, this is the restaurant that comes closest to making food just like hers. I always get bistec empanizado/palomilla, no matter where I go, and while it is a simple entree, this restaurant serves it perfectly. I can't speak for other items on the menu, but I am sure they are similar in quality. The staff is friendly, and even more so if you actually speak in Spanish with them. Being in there reminds me of being at home. Pros: authenticity of food Cons: nothing that I can think of! more

best cuban food in vegas 10/21/2006

this place has some of the best cuban food out there. it's great! and the prices very resonable. its better and cheaper than the one down the street from Ricon. i won't mention there name but i thought i was being robbed when i got the check more

Great Service, not so good food 6/4/2006

My husband and I had cuban sandwhiches, and the inside of the bread was soggy. The outside could have been crisper too. There was way more ham then pork, but the sandwich was HUGE for $5.50. The avocado salad was great! I asked for ""tostones"", which are suppose to be fried green plantians, but theirs must not have been very green, because they were sweet. The mojo was decent. They serve soda in a can. so if you want a refill, you have to pay for another soda. Pros: Quick service, Good prices, Good portions Cons: Canned drinks more
